This was my first photoshoot and with my fiance for our engagement photos. I would give more than 5 stars if I could. Cristobal was so comfortable and relaxing to work with. I really wasn't sure at first what to expect but the entire photoshoot became a lot of fun! Christobal of Azul Photography did our engagement photo shoot in February 2014. He coordinated with my then boyfriend to surprise me during the photo shoot with the proposal - we chose several different spots at the NC Art Museum, and Christobal took stunning photos from start to finish. He was extremely thoughtful, talented, fun to work with, and made us feel totally comfortable. We were delighted with the photos and his skill at capturing this precious time in our lives - the photos were truly beautiful; we especially liked his photojournalist approach with candids. Since then we have moved several times, and recently we discovered we had misplaced the digital copy of our photos! My family has hired Chris at Azul Photography to take family photos on two different occasions. Both time he exceeded expectations. With most photographers, you look through the resulting photos and try to find one you like best. With Azul, you are going to have to look hard just to find one you don't like, lol. Chris Azul gets my highest possible recommendation. We were married in Rocky Mount, NC on the day that Hurricane Matthew hit. He came sprinting in through the monsoon, doing his best to protect all his gear. The weather did not affect him at all – in fact, he shined as bright as anybody that day. We had to change all of our outdoor photo plans on the fly; we were devastated at first. No matter; Chris was able to work with us through it all. He was able to calmly control the crows with polite humor to get us quickly through our family photos. He then took my wife and me outside under the porch roof, which provided just enough shelter. He ran back and forth through the rain just to set up his back light with a poncho on, adjusting it as many times as he needed to get it just right. The results were truly stunning. The pictures he got in that time really captured the both the chaos and the beauty of that day (some are on his website.) Chris Azul earned every penny that day. We cannot thank him enough for his craftsmanship, dedication, and calm leadership on that day. I cannot say enough amazing things about Christobal and the photos he took for our engagement pictures as well as the wedding.
He absolutely took all the stress off everyone's shoulders, made it a super fun event, and took stunning pictures with the most creative and insightful ideas regardless of where we were throughout the day!

Azul was by far one of the best decisions I made as a bride-to-be. From engagement sessions to wedding day photo shoots, staff was ultra professional and full of creativities. They have captured my wedding day impeccably. "Kodak Moments" is an understatement. Looking back at those photos as if I am re-living every moment of my big day, and I look at those photos much more often than the wedding video itself. All of my guests were impressed with the professionalism of the staff and how dedicated they are with their work.
