Had an amazing meal last night. Service was impeccable...we went with our servers favorites and it did not disappoint... "pig" appetizer, pierogies and the burger. The burger made it to my top 3 and may have dethroned my favorite. Equally excellent were the drinks...local beer and hand crafted cocktails. I really like a whiskey sour...my server jumped behind the bar and made me one to cap of superb service....we celebrated my 40th...they provided dessert on the house. More...

Wonderful place with a great atmosphere. Service is great with care and attention from servers and staff. Food was very good, as care and thought were put into every dish. It obvious the chef has a passion for food with detail to match. It also appears the front end staff are as passionate about the food as the kitchen. Our server ‘First day Jack’ Aka. Sara, was fun, energetic and attentive. Manager Jack very much cares for the experience of the customer, being involved through out service. The mushrooms on toast was quite amazing. Fresh, seasoned wonderfully, with a cream sauce, on a tasty, toasted Ciabatta. This is the best version of this I have ever had. Charcuterie was fresh, tasty and generous with its selection of meats. They also had an adequate amount of toast and crackers. Always a peeve of mine when there is not enough to match the board, so well done! I would of enjoyed a couple of cheese selections and nuts or fresh fruits, even if they were at an extra cost, but this board as it is, I am sure would satisfy the masses. Dessert’s were very good. The bread pudding was delicious and satisfying. Raspberry coulis as a sauce was tasty. Madeleines were light and tasty but the chocolate sauce that accompanied it was thin, more like a hot chocolate. I was wanting more of a ganache with some substance in dark or white chocolate. We had dipped them in the coulis, which was great. Overall I am looking forward to returning to try other dishes as they appear to be well thought and creative. I did not mention the pickles as I did not feel they were to my taste but the dill pickle was very good. Interesting dishes but my only criticism of these type of ‘Masterchef’ restaurants, are that they put too many things on the plate. I had some pickeral, which is a very delicate fish. It was mixed with a tikka masala, charred onions, cashew nuts, cucumber, sour cream and a few other things. The dish looked and tasted great, but you could’ve thrown tofu in here and it still would’ve tasted great, i.e. the main ingredient wasn’t used to its full potential. Due to some problems with their wine supplier, they only had one of the Canadian wines but was recommended a good French one by the sommelier. Very friendly and efficient service. Ordered food for pickup. My wife got the classic burger while I got addition of egg and bone marrow on my burger. Staff were friendly on the phone and in the restaurant. I had the burger, fries and a glass of wine. Everything was delicious. I think too many restaurants try and put too much on their burgers. The taste is confusing. This burger is really simple. Fresh ground meat, veggies, cheese and a really good bun. The meat was delicious and the bun was perfect. Nothing worse than a dry bun. The service is also exceptional.
