My husband and I celebrated our birthdays with an 80s theme. Neal Keller was our DJ and he was awesome! The music was the best, people were dancing the whole time. He communicated his arrival time the day of the wedding and was on site early which put us at ease, made the announcements and introductions, played all our requests and played a great selection of music for our crowd. We heard about Neal (EightiesNite) from a friend back in 2011. He was the DJ for many of the HOA events. We hired Neal for my husband's 40th birthday party. We hired Neal to DJ our wedding on April 20, 2018. From the initial meeting, he was extremely professional, friendly, and knowledgable.
Throughout the planning process he stayed in touch with us and helped us craft our playlist. Neal also drove an hour out of his way to meet us at our venue to do a walkthrough before the event.
He definitely knows his stuff, and asked us a lot of questions about what we wanted in terms of music, sound and lighting. He was even able to set up a 2nd booth in another room for our cocktail hour.
In addition to playing great music all night, he was also a fantastic MC, making announcements throughout the night and encouraging folks to get on the dance floor.
The price was excellent too, we shopped around and Neal provides the absolute best value for the price. We will definitely be working with Neal for future events.

What’s the secret to keeping a party dancing all night long?
It's really about being engaged - with the music, with the vibe, with the flow of the event. I'm very approachable and request friendly, and I tend to favor inclusive selections. I find that reading the crowd is about listening to them directly, and also about paying attention to how they respond to each track.
How would you describe your ‘style’?
I'm definitely a party DJ. I'm about lifting up the mood and creating good feelings. I like to mix, to blend rhythms together, but I'm careful not to be obsessive about it. I don't want my sets to be monotonous, so I like to break up the beat every now and then with changes in tempo, genre, and energy."
My big specialty is retro oriented sets. I've hosted one of DC's longest running retro parties for almost 25 years now (80's Dance Party), and I know the era very well. I've done some really killer Disco sets, as well as 90's Retro parties. I keep up on the latest hits as well, and have done numerous events for Millenials, kids, and young adults.
What do you love most about your job?
Bringing the joy and fulfillment I get from music to others, in all kinds of forms and styles, and across all kinds of different demographics and age ranges!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I really love the entrepreneurial lifestyle and I've found I have a lot to offer people through music, lighting, sound, video, and related event services. Plus, I'm a natural techie type when it comes to A/V presentation technology. I love setting it up and making awesome shows come to life!

I'm dedicated and driven, friendly and approachable, and very reliable. I take a great amount of pride in what I do, I won't let you down for your event. I'm very knowledgable about popular music going back several decades, and I've got all the technology and expertise necessary to put together outstanding entertainment packages. At a great value too!
Sound Systems
I have a variety of configurations I can offer, I can also do multiple systems for covering different areas (example: ceremony, reception, cocktail hour).
Dance Floor Lighting
I have a great selection of special effect lighting geared towards dance floor areas.
Uplighting
I have a 23 fixture uplighting package that can do a variety of colors. Great for livening up the perimeter of the room!
