I have been getting desserts, chocolate, and baked goods from here forever and although the former owner has now retired, Marqessa is doing a great job of keeping the french dream alive in our little town. Please disregard the disturbing reviews from people who, seem a little nuts, and also do not fully understand the protocol or expected etiquette when dealing with a small business. There is a small, loving staff here who deserve your respect - whether you had a wonderful experience or a negative experience. If you have a problem with something you have purchased - have the decency to email, call, or approach Marqessa directly. You have not been emotionally wounded by a dry cake, so get over yourselves and leave this wonderful little gem to the rest of us who appreciate it. More...

I love the croissants. I came in after work at 4:30 and the shop closes at 5. My husband loves chocolate croissants and to cheer him up from a rough couple of weeks at work I wanted to get him some. When I got there there were only 2 left. But the baker was willing to give me the chocolate croissants in the back that didn’t look presentable for free and an extra that was just going to be thrown out if she didn’t sell it. I bought a cake with the croissants and to tell you the truth... I couldn’t tell my husband that I got the extra croissants because I ate them all on the way home. It was soooooo soft, buttery, chewy, flakey, and moist all at once. Unfortunately the kids got to the chocolate croissants but My husband loved the cake. It’s such a unique taste. Where to even begin. I tried the napoleon, a layered flaky puff pastry and a slice of marjolaine, an almond hazelnut sponge cake with buttercream and chocolate mousse. The napoleon was probably the best flake pastry I've ever had, exquisitely light yet sweet frosting, baked fresh. The flakes practically melted. The marjolaine was rich and decadent, not overly sweet nor too subtle, flavorful with a nice texture from the ground hazlenut. I felt the need to try everything else in the bakery but controlled myself (everything in moderation) so I settled for some pistachio gelato and a napoleon to go. Even an iced coffee for my aunt (a coffee connesuier) was deemed excellent. We will bypass the starbucks next door for iced coffee now. Overall, this bakery is next level stuff. A marriage of talent and experience. I asked Marqessa (super friendly and professional) about her culinary background and fittingly she's had a passion for baking since she was 8, working and studying with chefs at French restaurants in Philly at 14. We've been ordering birthday cakes from here for 18 years, and though Patrick's work was good (customer service not so much), you can bet your bottom dollar I'm going to try every single chocolate/pastry/cake in this bakery with Marqessa at its helm. A very nice small bakery shop on the Main Line. The deserts are always fresh and taste divine. Frankly, their eclairs are better than those in Paris, France, purchased at the finest shop. We also had a wedding cake prepared by this shop for our son's wedding in Sept.2018, and it was delicious, unique and beautiful. Under New Management with lots of gluten free delicious additions. They're small treats are around 4 to $6 great to enjoy with a cup of coffee or just as afternoon treat. You could spend 50 or $60 here easily and most of their items freeze really. The cakes have thin layers and delicious creaminess and crunch where it's needed. well the gelatos are great, the macaroons are great, the opera cake is splendid. It's like having a real French Patisserie in your backyard trust me it's worth the drive. We were extremely happy with our wedding cake from Aux Petits Delices. Several guests told me it was one of the best wedding cakes they've ever tasted.
(We got chocolate cake with chocolate between the layers.) I hardly ate at our wedding, but I did eat my piece of cake!
I provided one picture as inspiration and the nailed it on the cake design. It was exactly what I was looking for. So beautiful.
The company is extremely easy to work with. I would defiantly recommend this bakery.

What do you love most about your job?
I love the feedback from guests who come through the shop and enjoy what we have made for them. Whether it is a simple macaron or an extravagant wedding cake, the best part is seeing how happy we have made someone.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have always had a deep love and appreciation for French pastry and I happened to purchase the business from the founder of the pastry shop. It is important to me to carry on the tradition of classical French pastry and this was a perfect opportunity for me to purchase and run my own business.
Why should our clients choose you?
We are a unique and classical French patisserie, there aren't many around that offer not only pastries you would find in France but we also do custom wedding cakes, specialty cakes and we make all of our own chocolates.
