Foolhardy Circus

From March 2016 to April 2017.

A family friendly tented Circus. This is a very lovely Norfolk based troupe who showed me the ropes and knots of assembling the big top. This run of tours including 2 shows a day and developed my acts to an exceptional level.

National Youth Circus Representative

No Fit State

From January 2010 to September 2012.

I was on a funded out-reach development scheme which benefited me in ways that I thought only happen in fairy tales. I put this as work because in practice the set up was very similar to an apprenticeship without the title. Here I learned my aerial skills as well as teacher training, audit assessments and crew experience. I owe my existence within the circus industry to this circus and its team.

Projects

As Told By a Goblin

This collection of fables is my artistic outlet. This is storytelling is made up of poetry, dance, acrobatics and theatre all composed into the symphony of escapism into a fantastical world, where all promises that were made to you as a child are kept.

Perceptive Neurology

Audacity was raised by a Doctor of Computer Vision who has various degree's in physics and is an internationally renowned specialist within artificial perception (a branch of artificial intelligence) During the upbringing of my sister Rhyannan and I we were taught from a very young age aspects of critical thinking, physics, mathematics , by our father, which are not offered in state schools. As a result there are three people in this family who are exceptionally interested in perception and each of us have built three entirely different careers around; Head of Computer Science, Costumer designer who has worked for the Russian Ballet on Ice, and myself. A circus performer with ambitions to be a director. This study is a little much to try and explain how without delivering you with a dissertation that would really only cover one aspect of perception in one particular method. Instead I can tell you the benefits of understanding how , and why we can apply knowledge about our neurological sensory process opens up new ways to create spectacles, illusions, advanced methods of atmosphere enhancements and ultimately to communicate. It is one of the most empathetic sciences because it is the study of how we, as a species, assess the external reality. My research has been vast and is currently being fused with existing dance and theatre technique/theory . It is this blend of information that is helping me apply it to various circus disciplines. For this study I have not only had to gain a basic understanding of the sensory systems (visual, touch, taste, audio) and how these plus how muscle nerves communicate, but also how the brain responds to which stimuli and what synapses are triggered when. This research has taken me through many branches of neurology, dance and theatre, but also sociology, architecture , light, geometry and bio-mechanics. I am in works to produce a series of works making this accessible to a circus/theatre/dance/director/producer audience. (Hope that made sense)
