Big thanks to Rod for his work with members of the Widger Spoke Easies, Launceston Velo and the wider Launceston Cycling Community for putting together a progressive and challenging Cycling Specific Strength and Conditioning Class through the winter. I have been training with Rod for over a year, concentrating on improving my strength and flexibility to help me reduce my golf handicap. The training has certainly helped and this year I have reduced my handicap by 5. Friendly and approachable, as well as being very knowledgable and clearly considers the exercises and routines best applied to achieve my goals, rather than a one size fits all regime. Definitely knows his stuff and I rate him highly having used other personal trainers, so have experience of others to compare him with. Builds up week by week so each session is more challenging than the previous one, and I can clearly see how much I am improving by increased reps and/or weights. Currently doing three sessions per week and have kept my motivation going which is testament to how good Rod is. More...

Our son plays a high level of junior tennis and was gaining numerous injuries prior to working with Rodrigo. He has been amazing for Will and developed a very bespoke fitness, strength and conditioning plan for Will which has resulted in some very rapid improvments in his wellbeing (mental and physical) and noticable strengthening of his core as well as overall balanced muscle development. The program allows Will (age 13) to take responsibility for his program and update Rodrigo via an app every time he completes a session on his own. The program continually evolves as Will progresses and is always tailored to suit Will's chosen sport. He is great to work with and Will really looks forward to meeting up for a training session. Rodrigo is very easy to work alongside and is naturally able to motivate, support and be a great role model for Will. ROD PERES – PERSONAL TRAINER Rod has trained me for over 4-years now having taken over from my former Cornwall trainer who moved abroad. I cannot recommend him highly enough. Rod is very knowledgeable about all aspects of the human body including muscles, ligaments, joints and core organs etc, so much so that he can tailor your training to where it is needed and switch it around to cover upper body, lower body and core muscles. In the event of aches and pains sustained through normal day to day activities, Rod will target other muscle groups in your training schedule thus avoiding those sore areas. He is also acutely aware of the need for warm up and warm down exercises that prepares the body (muscles etc) for the exercises ahead, so avoiding unnecessary injuries. My reason for choosing Rod was because he is willing to home train, coming to my home twice a week at a time that suits us both using my gym equipment, but he also has his own in his gym in Launceston that he takes to other clients. As can be seen from his web site, he is also able to offer nutritional advice and write a personal diet plan for those choosing to lose weight through diet and exercise. So far, I haven’t taken advantage of that facility. The other reason for using Rod, is that it makes me get up in the morning and do a session, instead of as is the case with many of us, letting it slip or skipping exercises and eventually giving it up. , More...

As a 60 year old, unfit, overweight woman with health issues I was worried the sessions would be too strenuous for me. I need not have worried. Rod was careful to ensure everything was within my limits, monitoring my reactions and even facial expressions. Once he had the measure of me he began to encourage me to do more, devised a personal program, complete with videos as well as a nutrition app so he could monitor what I was eating.
