The staff was very friendly from the receptionist to the restaurant to room service. The rooms were very clean. The bedding was luxurious felt like a real life princess. I planned an adventure at Askari for my international grp of 10. They had no idea what incredible, memorable and truly unforgettable experience it was going to be. ||Family cottages were perfect for my grp, the bush braai experience was perfectly arranged and managed by Askari's team. My grp absolutely loved their game drives, elephant experience and overall experience. Did I exceed their expectations.....Absolutely. A weekend they will never forget. Lovely little lodge in Hekpoort, big 5 on property however lions and elephants are in an enclosure.||Chalets are rather close together so for couples it takes away from the intimate feeling most would associate with a game experience. ||Dinner was fantastic set menus great portion size well made highlight of the stay.||Great reception and conferencing enjoyed spa but can have improvement on staff training to create a better experience.||Potentially a great wedding venue More...

What an amazing place, just an hour away of the city. The rooms are amazing, staff are ver helpful and friendly and take pride in their work, but the is not the only thing, the food is the best! We stayed in Aug, the Askari lodge was a great base to visit the local Anglo war battlefield of Nootigedacht which is very close to the property. The rooms, service and food at the restaurant were first class. But it was our guide Rob Milne (robmilne.com) historian and geologist who really made the visit a must do for anyone interested in South African modern and ancient history.
