Q&As

A great website is a site that converts - meaning the majority of users on your site take action that ultimately results in profit for your business. Having a strong call to action, good use of hierarchy, and a user-friendly flow makes for a site that will convert. In addition, an AMAZING website is a site that not only converts, but also is visually striking and unique. To achieve this visually compelling site that converts, you need all the proper conversion tactics aforementioned, along with a dynamic layout, strong typography, and beautiful imagery.

When I start a project with a new client, and I already know what we are working on, I begin with questions related to their business model, objective, and goals for the future. What does your business do exactly? What is your current demo and what is your target demo? What is your general timeline for having this project completed? What is the reason for this project? After I explain a bit about myself, I also ask them if they any questions for me regarding my process, pricing, or timelines.

My creative process starts with a "brand deep-dive" call, in which myself and my client hop on a call for about 30min to talk all things "their brand". This entails questions about the tone, messaging, target audience, color preferences, fonts and more. I take thorough notes during this call that I use as the foundation to design the first round of logo, color, and photography/image style options. After this first review is sent to my client, I give them a few days to marinate and respond with any edits or feedback. From their feedback, I move onto the next review with refined options. Eventually, I get to the next phase of branding, which is the typography and any additional design elements such as patterns. Throughout the entire process, I am always emailing or calling with clients to ensure we are aligned and that there is open communication.

Before I can begin working with a client, I need the following information: Name, email, phone #, project type, Intro call completed (client & myself chat to align), contract signed, invoice paid in half the total amount due prior to start date.

What I love most about my job is the ability to create something new each day. No 2 days are ever really the same, and I have the flexibility and freedom to work in whatever creative space best suits me that day. I'm free to choose my clients and I absolutely love the ones I end up with because they essentially become my "co-workers" ! Design is truly my passion, I'd love it no matter the subject matter.

I was inspired to start my own business when I realized how much freedom graphic design allotted a person. All youreally need is your creative talent and a computer to get started and that was truly empowering to me. After about 4 years working full time for agencies large and small, I felt confident enough in my experience and skills to venture out on my own. Every experience with an agency prior to that was so beneficial in making my design business a success. I wanted to do what I had been doing for those agencies, for my own clients directly because I knew that I could. I simply believed in myself and what I could do for people's businesses.

Your clients should choose to work with me because I consider myself to be a rare breed of professionalism, dependability, and fun when it comes to graphic/brand designers! Not only will they receive quality design work, they will understand AND enjoy the process. I care about my business name and how my business affects my clients, and that will not change when I work with Bark clients.
