Gayle and I are big fans of the NW Iowa art scene. Whether it be Hank Hall (formally of Art on 16th in Spirit Lake), Dan Ruff, Perry Polson, or Jesse Bogenrief (just down the street), the artistic creativity is impressive and at very reasonable prices. Arts on Grand is a spacious shop and gallery that features some of the above artists and more. They're also part of the annual Artisan Road Trip that allows one to travel the Iowa back roads in search of artistic treasure. Gayle and I wander in when we're in town each summer, and usually come out with a work of art that's both stunning and something we don't have any room at home to display.  But we usually figure that out later. Love seeing the wide variety of Art in the monthly change of shows. Always glad to volunteer my time with their projects, at the Fair & at their main location.

AOG is one of the places I miss the most about living in Spencer. The staff and artists are always engaging, friendly, and enjoy sharing their love of art. Classes and events are very exciting too. My only wish is that they had more staff and support from volunteers to continue growth. More...

The classes at Arts on Grand are excellent, the art is always changing, the events are an absolute blast, and AOG does amazing things for this community. I loved watching the American Gothic Grows go up at the Clay County Fair and seeing the Vincent Van Go Gogh van driving around town makes me smile. AOG makes art accessible and fun for everyone and brings an incredible element of culture and art to our city. More...
