I've been to many barber shops and salons, but what separates ArtiZan from all the others is the quality and outstanding job they do in all areas with their customers. Farzanna helped me do my facial and let me tell you, she was such a huge help! As she was doing the skin treatment she was explaining everything to me and offering advice and what to do to better my skin. I loved this place the second I came in for a quote. No appt, just a walk in.I needed my hair colored from a deep red to blonde, my natural color. She told me it may be impossible without completely frying my hair. She tested a few strands of my hair with different colors to find out if it could work and it seemed doable.The color correcting took 5 hours. You would think after a couple hours, you’d be over it, but I have never been so comfortable. I was given water regularly, I’m practically a fish, so I loved it.She showed me pictures of her vision of how it would turn out, which I loved because it made sure we were on the same page. I was offered wine, she even bought me lunch and refused to let me cover it. I have never met a hairdresser concerned with anything else but doing their job.It smelled amazing, I was relaxed.She went above and beyond. Her staff is also amazing. Farzana always does an amazing job every time I get my eyebrows threaded. She's careful, takes her time and stops before to make sure that you are getting the eyebrow shape that you want. Her salon environment is comforting, welcoming, and very clean. Frazana is a knowledgeable, skilled professional and talented cosmetologist. I walked in to try out it out soon after it opened and have been coming here ever since. Frazana found a way to make my hair look great through all changes in texture and color that came with growing it back after chemo therapy. She runs a clean organized salon that I felt comfortable going to even when I had a reduced immune system. Every time I get my hair done, people ask me who did my color. Frazana and Angelina recently did hair and makeup for my wedding and bridal party. Everyone felt beautiful and the pictures turned out amazing! 8/2019: so it's been a couple of years and I am still a loyal customer of Artizan. There have been some staffing changes and the service quality keeps getting better (not that there was any need for improvement). The recent hires of Anthony and Angelina have been exceptional. These professional embody the same sensibility that Farzana has cultivated.  My hair is healthier than its ever been and I continue to be surprised by the care and attention I receive each time I cross ArtiZan's threshold. Invitingly serene, my latest treatment left my hair and mind renewed. I have added brow threading to my regular services (I am allergic to wax).   It would be a lie to say it's enjoyable but I will say that Farzana's technique is the least painful I've experienced and I have no redness when she is done.  Pictures are worth 1000 words so I am including a before and after. Keep in mind I had 10 weeks between my appointments so the growout was pretty terrible. That said, my highlights are perfect and you cannot see any inconsistency in my color. Farzana is just that good!Walking in from a commercial shopping area, I was not expecting the peaceful and serene salon beyond the entry. Each element, from the flooring and beautiful styling stations, lightly scented candles burning to the well appointed washing station, cumulated to transport me far away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Farzana greeted me warmly, not in the way a typical commercial salon would - but rather as the way you'd expect when you walk into someone's home for the first time. My fears of going to a new salon were immediately qwelled. I know I am not an expert on hair styling and products, so I don't typically start with describing what I want. Despite not having the vocabulary to describe the style I want, Farzana quickly assessed my hair and made recommendations that included LESS product/coloring than I had previously been using (at another Aveda location). My time with Farzana flew by as she transformed my hair from a shapeless kaleidoscope of color to a natural frame to fomy face. Previously I had been encouraged to use both low lights and highlights. Farzana chose to build on my natural hair color rather than mask it. By the time I stood up, I felt renewed both internally and externally. I want to start this review by saying I have alopecia and I wanted to find an Aveda salon that would accommodate me and my concerns. I had never had my hair dyed professionally. I have a lot of gray. I contacted multiple Aveda salons in the Portland metro area and I didn’t get good customer service via phone. I figured if I am not treated well via phone there is no way I was going to trust my hair to any of these salons. I contacted ArtiZan and initially it was a bit hard to get a hold of Farzana. Schedules conflicting. But, eventually we were able to speak. She dissipated all my fear via phone. She gave me specific suggestions to make sure I was going to get the most out of the hair dye. I followed her suggestions and was able to get my hair dyed. I was happy to get my gray covered. I wasn’t 100% with the highlight color (it turned out beautiful but, you know when you have a different picture in your mind?) and Farzana was able to intuitively pick up on this. She let me know to come back free of charge after a few days to have highlights re-done to the color I wanted. I came in today and she did my hair and it’s beautiful. Today was my second time going to Farzana and I’m so happy. I feel like I’m family walking in there. I just want to thank Farzana and her team for being so welcoming and professional with me. Today, I had the pleasure of working with Farzana, the owner of ArtiZan Salon and Color Artistry in Sherwood, OR. My experience was phenomenal. I received a balayage/color correction in preparation for a wedding this weekend, where I am a bridesmaid. I currently have advanced heart failure, and was nervous about spending so much time at a salon. My hair is very long and it takes several hours to color/tone/etc. Being sick has recently kept me from living a normal life, and I tire easily. This leaves me frequently insecure. From the very moment I walked in Farazana was friendly and inviting. She is beautiful inside and out and enjoys working with people in all walks of life. She was the positive person I needed to see today. She didnt treat me differently for any reason. I explained my situation and she was incredibly kind and respectful. I haven’t felt this comfortable going somewhere other than my house in awhile. I felt like I was a guest at her house. On top of all this, Farazana is an exceptional colorist. She created the depth and dimension my dyed black hair had been lacking. Some colorists would shy away from taking on such a big project but not Farazana. Not once did she mention or complain that my hair was to long, or to dark or that she doesn’t want to spend that much time on one client. (Which I have experienced from others elsewhere) when all was said and done I left feeling confident and fulfilled. Farazana is now my go to colorist/stylist. If you have ever had a bad experience at a salon, that left you feeling less than phenomenal, stop wasting your time, and start going to Farazana. She will make you feel beautiful inside and out. I’ve been to ArtiZan salon twice and have had wonderful experiences during both visits. Farzana is truly amazing! I have naturally dark hair with blonde highlights all over. I’ve been to many other salons and have not had good experiences. Because of this, there are multiple products in my hair. When I came to ArtiZan, Farzana listened to what I wanted. She explained what she would do and how she would achieve what I was looking for. The end result was exactly what I was looking for! Also, I love the atmosphere for the salon. I am the worst at planning haircuts and color. Waiting until I am ready to do it myself is my routine. I have struggled finding a stylist that could do both cut and color. During my last hair crisis I called the salon and had an appointment for later that day. When I walked in I was greeted by employees and loved hearing the way they all interacted with everyone in the room. The salon was clean and had a nice environment. Tarzan’s was my stylist that saved me from my hair crisis. She listened to what I wanted and didn’t say no when I asked for more layering. We also talked about color because I had some serious grow out! Once the cut and style was complete I knew she was the person for my hair. Today I returned for my color and Farzana looked at the photo I brought and went to work. Her work turned out stunning. My hair is incredibly soft and I look younger with my new color.
