Artist's Studio

I need, of course, their names and addresses, and their permission to begin painting or creating the art. I will need either a manuscript (if I am illustrating a book or article) or a photo of the person or house or subject, such as a pet, that the client wants a portrait of.

I personally love the process of creating beautiful art and it is especially rewarding when my clients are thrilled and delighted with what I do!

I have always been an artist and have taken classes as a youth, got an undergraduate degree and a graduate degree (M.F.A.) in painting and fine art. I currently have a studio from which I work, and therefore have naturally become a business person because of my art.

If you will look at the books and pictures I have created on my website (JillBaker.com), you will see my skill. I am also trustworthy and prompt. If I say something will be done by a certain time, it will be.

My clients often send emails which include pictures of the subject they wish painted. I also receive manuscripts of books and poetry that authors want to have illustrated. They trust my ability to see what is inherent in the manuscript that needs to be illustrated.

I and my clients who come to the studio wear a mask and maintain social distancing. I clean and sanitize before and after each visit.
