What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Relationships. We take the time to meet with our clients beforehand. We want to discover what’s special to them. We view ourselves as part of your wedding-day (or business) team.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
First, we try to get an idea of the big picture. What are the most important things? What are the expectations? Is it photographic style? Budget? Special services? Flexibility? Once we get an idea of what a bride and groom’s ideal scenario would be, we then ask more specific questions: What types of images you prefer? What’s your style? Do you want to capture the day moment by moment, and include all your guests in the photos, or do you prefer a more bride-and-groom-centric approach? How many guests will be at your event?
What do you love most about your job?
The best part about photography is getting to meet people. Every wedding or business client has unique needs, and we enjoy working together with our clients to find personalized solutions. For weddings, we especially enjoy getting those unique shots of people or activities that may have been missed by the busy bride and groom on their wedding day.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Quite simply, people. We would occasionally shoot weddings and events, and our clients and their guests were overwhelmingly positive and encouraged us to take our business to the next level. The best compliments we’ve had are from brides who chose us because their sisters — or friends — were happy with our work and recommended us.
Why should our clients choose you?
There are a lot of photographers, and a good number of good photographers. We are proud of our experience, and urge any bride and groom to make sure the photographer they choose is ready for the big day. But the most important thing is for a bride and groom to choose a photography team that’s a good fit for their needs, budget and style. We hope that’s Art in Light, and we would welcome the chance to meet and further share our story.
