When visiting OIB, The Purple Onion is our go to place for breakfast. They have a lot to choose from and we have never had a bad meal. My favorite is the spinach avocado eggs benedict and my husband's is the crab cake eggs Benedict. We ordered these this morning and both were excellent. If you go don't forget to get something sweet to take with you. The raspberry cheese croissants are fabulous and you can't go wrong with their cakes! My husband loves the oatmeal raisin cookies! Daniel and I weren't planning on heading to North Carolina but our undergrad teachers son was purposing so we drove 9 hours there to capture the proposal. We planned it to get there and be able to have breakfast so I could use my trusty Yelp app to find a cool spot. Yet again, it did not disappoint! The Purple Onion kept coming up and honestly billboards too so we headed out. It had kind of a weird parking lot and the weirdest entrances which weren't made easier by the fact that we had our giant van. But we parked and headed in. It wasn't too busy but once we sat people kept trickling in. There's a front counter with baked goods that draws people too! Daniel tends to stay pretty simple with his breakfast but I went with a sandwich. I'm a hit or a miss for actually wanting breakfast food for breakfast. This time I went with the friend green tomato sandwich on pumpernickel. My love! It was so stinking good and such a unique sandwich. I loved it! This is going to be a favorite place that we will return to every time we are in the area! First, the waitress was super nice- she was very quick getting us anything we needed! The food was delicious, vegetarian friendly, and brought to us quickly! After our meal we just had to stop at the bakery and grab some yummy goodies to take home. Oh my gosh. Decisions. Decisions. A big menu and an incredible choice of luscious looking desserts made it tough to decide what to order. One diner in our party of six made sure to order a slice of carrot cake first...just in case they ran out! Priorities, right?!Several of us got salads and others ordered sandwiches. My chicken salad in a half of a cantaloupe was enough for two meals. Try the Paris salad dressing - a mix of Caesar and Greek with a little sweetness explained our server. The portabello sandwich was messy and delicious. For dessert, we tried Boston Cream Pie, Key Lime Pie, Carot Cake and a large cookie. Again, the portions were big. Our server, Jana, was very efficient. The food came quickly after we ordered. And...best of all was the price. We had bills separated by couples. Each couple's bill without tip was only about $25...that's for beverages, lunch entree and dessert. Wow. More...

AMAZING!!!Everything here is good! Everything!The food is super fresh and truly delicious. The portions are huge! I never leave without at least another meals worth of leftovers. A real deal.My favorite dishes thus far are the salad trio, the fried green tomatoes, macaroni and cheese bites, and the fajita quesadilla. Oh, and their baked goods are phenomenal. Went for Sunday lunch after church. There was no wait!! If I had any tips on this restaurant it would be to start with dessert! ! The coconut cake is out of this world!!! The menu is lengthy and certainly will cause making a decision tough. So many tasty options to choose from. From burgers to wraps, salads to quesadillas....they have it all! You will wish your stomach was as big as your eyes. Be sure to note that their burgers are all 1/2 pound. Our server, Jennifer, was friendly, knowledgeable and gave us great recommendations! Our water glass never was below half empty. The staff works hard to make sure your needs are met. This is a 5 star establishment and you will not be sorry you stopped in!
