Went there Sunday morning, got there about 10:30am and got a good seat but it started filling up pretty quickly after that. Was surprised to see a barber shop inside separated from the dining room by windows. Ordered, service was quick and a very short wait for our food. The kitchen staff was on it. Stopped in for lunch and had the 2 meat plate with ribs, pulled pork, potato salad, and collard greens. The ribs and pork were cooked perfectly and the ribs had great bark on them. Hot spot BBQ is my favorite but Aragon is giving them a run for their money. The potato salad was great and had cheese and bacon on it. The greens were ok but I felt they needed more salt. Hidden gem in Pensacola! We wouldn't have seen this place unless searching for brunch. Tucked downtown and there is a barber salon inside. I like this little place. It has a limited menu but I think there's something for everyone. The Incrandible turkey salad is great! You will lick the bowl! I chose a balsamic dressing instead of the cranberry dressing that comes with it because I didn't want something so sweet but my friend loved it. This is a nice little place to enjoy a meal . We had the BBQ nachos and the bayou tacos, both were delicious. Portion sizes were fair for what you pay. Service was top notch as well. There is a barber shop located in the restaurant which was a little awkward for me personally. I really do not want to watch folks get a wash, trim, shave, etc. while I eat. As for the food and service, no complaints. One reviewer noted limited parking. This is true if you try to park on the street, however, there is a small community parking lot located one block north of the restaurant. I just had WAITR deliver lunch from here, after considering it many times. OMG. I had the smoked turkey salad with in house made cranberry spread; it was delicious! Broccoli salad was also very nice! Lol, I read almost every review, but my favorite was the 1 star. There is always one in a crowd. Im certain ANYONE can have a bad day, but I have eaten here 4 times and I live 200+ miles away ! When I am anywhere near Pensacola, this is a MUST ! GREAT atmosphere, even with barber shop near( and COMPLETLY closed off and seperate) its NOT like someone is shearing sheep and hair is flying all around your plate ! I personally have ALWAYS found the staff to be very attentive and polite ! Also, Im certain that all of their other food is delicious, but I cannot make myself order anything OTHER than the meatloaf ! It is fabulous ! Its not like " My Mom used to make" but whoevers mom made it that way, made it pretty darn good !!!! Hey, Aragon.....If anyone orders the meatloaf and dont like it, freeze it for me and I'll add it to my order the next time Im in the area ! Oh, one more thing ! The ABSOLUTE BEST cup of coffee I have EVER tasted ! Left yesterday with four boxes of K-cups ! Please consider opening a Cafe in Tuscaloosa, Alabama ! This place is adorable. Restaurant, Salon, and Barbershop all in one with a jazz theme. The eggs scrambler is to die for. And their little waffles are so cute and tasty . Our signature dish is our homemade meatloaf! The recipe has been in the family for years.
How do you go about creating the perfect menu for your clients?
Although we are a small cafe that is focused on BBQ, we love to embrace new and exciting challenges. Catering events allow us to get out of the box and open a dialogue with our guests about their needs and wants to create the perfect experience.
What do you love most about your job?
The connection we have made with the locals in our area.
What inspired you to start your own business?
After working in restaurant for the past 10 years I decided it was time to take the leap and open my own. We wouldn't be here with out the tremendous amount of support from the and our great locals.
