Alexander of AR Architecture ran our project in 2011-2012. It's been a very challenging project involving complete remodelling of a large Victorian mansion block apartment in London. Given the limitations both from the budget side as well as from the licensing authorities, AR Architecture performed exceptionally, well, coordinating numerous subcontractors and suppliers, providing unorthodox design ideas, communicating with the licensing supervision, etc. I would highly recommend Alexander for a wide range of projects - from mere architectural design to full-scale research-design-tender-supervise exercises. It's the magic of seeing your ideas materialised, influencing this process - and knowing that in the spaces you are creating people will be able to feel at home and in harmony with their surroundings.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Having worked for over 15 years in different architectural practices, large and small, in 2010 I felt the moment had come to build one myself. The following 10 years have been at times a bumpy road, but definitely the most fulfilling and rewarding in my professional carreer.
Why should our clients choose you?
We provide full range of architectural services from feasibility studies to completion, deal with all statutory approvals (including those for listed buildings), lead and coordinate other professional consultants.
Working with private clients, we regard them as our co-authors, listen and deliver, thriving always to add an extra value to our clients' aspirations. We are always there to help, advise and lead them through the maze of the construction project.
We like dealing with difficult briefs and tight budgets, finding that the most interesting creative solutions originate from the most challenging constraints.
The first consultation is always free. After that, our costs are fully transparent and predictable. As far as possible they are fixed lump sums - we never use percentage fees and rarely resort to time-based charges.
