Fixed Fee Probate
We do the paperwork and you deal with the assets. Most people’s estates are relatively simple, and it’s their families who know best what assets were in which bank, and how much the jewellery and cars were worth. This means that much probate work can be done by you at very little expense. However, the last steps can be difficult and complex, so we offer a fixed-fee service which includes preparation of the necessary documents for you to obtain the Grant. We apply for the Grant on your behalf and when it arrives, we send it to you so that you can close down the bank accounts, sell the property, and begin the process of distribution. Much of the information that we need from you can be gathered by phone or email, and we have a quick turn-round time. We are also able to give advice on how you should begin the process of dealing with the assets. Cost The cost of a fixed-fee probate application is £425 plus VAT. But, please note that the Probate Registry charges an application fee of £155.00 plus 50p for each copy of the grant. There will also be a “swearing” fee of £5-7.00.
