Having qualified from Hadlow and Greenwich with a degree in Horticulture and Design, Laura believes it is important to be able to view a garden from a designer’s prospective. It is imperative to understand the relationship between hard and soft landscape, there are many ingredients combined to meet the level of success in the garden and to understand the habit of plants, knowing how they will look throughout the year, and how they will relate to the rest of the garden.

As a busy and successful architect specialising in historic building projects, I was delighted to be able to work with Laura when I was asked recently to draw up plans for the creation of a new driveway to a listed building.
The design called for a careful mix of hard and soft landscaping to sit within the Conservation Area, in addition to enhancing the setting of the listed building, all whilst needing to meet the challenging requirements of KCC highways.
I cannot speak highly enough of Laura's professionalism and design flair, as well as her technical skill and extensive knowledge. I have already been privileged to work with her on several projects requiring landscape plans in order to meet planning conditions, and she have always been of great service to my clients. On this occasion, I feel that her superb design has really helped the chance of our clients obtaining planning approval and I would greatly welcome the opportunity to work with her on many other projects.

She has helped me crystal my bucket list into a workable design providing working drawings for the Landscape contractors including construction,electrical,irrigation and planting elements.
She is hugely personable, flexible , full of common sense, very practical with great design flair and mindful of cost implications. What do you love most about your job?
I love plants, good design, meeting new people and bringing pleasure from outside space. Being a garden designer is the perfect combination of all of these aspects. I can’t think of any other job I would rather do!
What inspired you to start your own business?
Laura Anstiss has been a keen horticulturalist all her life; growing up on Exmoor meant that from an early age, Laura was inspired by her surroundings and the natural beauty of landscape. A farming background also furnished Laura with hands on experience with managing and developing the land.
Why should our clients choose you?
Knowing how to put together the right team for the job is one of my core skills. Coordinating a project and ensuring key tasks are completed in the right order are essential to delivering excellence.
