Wedding Photography

We had our wedding photos taken by Ed, and so many were unposed which we wanted and that made them perfect. We had many comments from people saying they did not see him there, to me that is the sign of a truly professional photographer. A wedding is a stressful time but Ed was a great help on our special day. Very highly recommended! More...

Wedding Photography

Ed was very helpful and took many great shots of our wedding, which we are more than happy with. The biggest compliment that we can make is that there were many pictures taken in the main function room by Ed, however nobody can remember him being there, so the pictures were not posed for, and so much better because of that!
I recommend Ed very highly indeed!

Wedding Photography

Although I didn’t book him, the correspondence was great and he was willing to go out of his way to se up a meeting which I cancelled at the last minute. Even then, he was kind and understanding, and I think he would be a really good photographer for anyone who is lucky enough to book him More...

Q&As

Besides the obvious practical things like quality equipment, and the knowledge and experience from years of being out there and shooting weddings both big and small, I'd say the "secret" is listening to each couple, who they are and what they want (as well as what they don't) and creating a relaxed relationship between the photographer and each couple.

As above, I need to ask the practical questions first - it's hugely important to be sure all the details are totally clear; timings, locations, everything the couple has planned for the day. And then I want to find out about the kinds of styles they like and the sort of day they're hoping for - is it going to be formal and regimented, or informal and fun? Do they want lots of posed pictures, or everything to be candid and natural?

I get to be around for one of the happiest and most memorable days of people's lives, and also get to be the one who provides them with the lasting memory of it - the images they'll remember and keep forever. Plus it's generally nice to be around people who are enjoying themselves and having fun.

I believe one of the things that fuels my approach to wedding photography is that, while I have now shot well over a hundred weddings, it isn't the only thing I do, and I only shoot a certain number of wedding each year. Because of this, I don't need to treat weddings with the "production line" approach, and don't see it as just a job - I'm still enthusiastic and still treat each couple as individuals, going in with a positive, open mind and doing all I can to make sure they end up with images, service and coverage they're really happy with.
