Q&As

Once I recieve the brief from the client or meeting with them so they can explain their vision and direction with as much information as possible. If the client doesn't know what they want exactly, I help them define this as a creative.
Then I begin to research. For example if I'm designing a logo for a company, then I will research their products, target market and their business goals. This can help with everything from colours used to how to help their company set out from the crowd.
Sometimes, I may create a moodboard or the client may have their own. Then, I sketch out some ideas to present to the client. They may like my sketches or guide me to what they may want adding or taking out.
Now, I'll get onto Adobe Illustrator to improve the best sketches .The idea is to narrow the potential solutions to maximum of three concepts. Typography is extremely important but that can be defined in later stages of the design process. Next, I'll decide the sutible colour palette for the final logo. Colour has importance. It can set mood. It is necessary to think it through carefully to make sure the used colours have appropriate meaning for the business sector in which we are.
Next, I will present the final ideas to the client. I will present the idea on paper and mock ups of their products. For example, I designed a logo for an independant coffee house, In presented their logo on mock ups of take out cups, menus, paper bags.

It's best to have as much info as possible but sometimes a client just know that that they want a logo for their business or a leaflet to advertise an event and in that case it's my job to talk through with them what they visualise. I 'll work off information such as what kind of event it is, who will attend or what kind of business it is and who are the customers.

Getting to use my imagination and having clients love my ideas is a great feeling,

I work with the client throughout the whole designing process to ensure I deliver exactly what they have visioned.
