I am a BACP Registered Counsellor with experience of helping people to explore their issues within a compassionate and non-judgemental environment. I use a person-centered approach at the heart of counselling as I believe each person is the best 'expert' of themselves and has the resources within themselves to resolve difficulties they are facing when provided with the right environment to explore them. When useful, I may also draw from other therapy approaches such as cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) or Solution focussed therapy (SFT); which may be helpful in targeting specific difficulties such as phobias or anxious feelings.
I have experience working with adults and young people in various areas of the community; including schools and surgeries.
I specialise in therapeutic work with teenagers and young adults, in particular with those in education.
I will offer a warm, non-judgemental and reflective space for you to explore your experiences and we will work together to make sense of them. I understand that making the decision to come for counselling can be a big step and finding the right counsellor for you can be a process.
