Angie's is a great family restaurant located in a small strip mall next to an auto repair shop. Received great service and food was really good. I have the seafood platter with two sides. The green beans may have been from a can but were seasoned well with tomatoes and onions. Mashed potatoes had a good gravy on top. Portions were good for the price. We will be back. More...

Always like to support locally owned businesses and Angie's is one of them. Was the wife's birthday so my grandson and his family came along. Last night they had prime rib on the menu and it was perfect. The others had seafood and one had a burger. We've been going here for over 20 years and never had a bad meal. Took our family of 9 here Friday (3/1) and they all enjoyed their food. My usual fare is Liver and onions, rare and that's how it was served. Thin sliced and nice and pinkon the inside. One thing that I do not order is the seafood platter. The ocean trout just plain sucks. Wish the would offer whiting or pollack instead. Much more flavorful. More...

This is a favorite breakfast stop on the way to golf on the Chesapeake side of Virginia Beach.  We usually arrive around 7:30. Sometimes it's filled with locals talking up yesterday's news or reading the paper.  Occasionally there's a group of 6 or 8 out for breakfast.  This morning there were only four other people at the tables and only one server.  She handled everything well.  During our meal, two more servers arrived at 8:00.  Neighbor Bob had two eggs over with bacon and grits.  I had two over with bacon, no grits or home fries (their home fries are great).  I'm going low carb for a while.  Eggs done perfectly. We got here at 3:30, expecting breakfast was served at day (since the sign says BLD, pretty much). We were wrong and ended up having to get lunch fare. Oh well. I got the Greek salad no meat, daughters got cheeseburgers. They loved their food but the salad left something to be desired. Maybe more kalamatas and vegetable variety would be nice. Service was OK. The staff seemed like a group of gossipy bored women. I probably won't be going back. Not my kind of place. More...

Excellent food. From the hamburger steak to the fried fish, it is very fresh and homemade. Its connected to a Treads Quarter and has a small sign so very hard to miss and it might look like not much good would come out of here due to its size and almost hidden  structure. But the food here is good. They have a ton of regulars that eat here. More...

I mean. A diner. It's good for a diner. Reasonable prices. Hubby and I both got the baked spaghetti all the way. It was good but definitely needed more sauce. I probably wouldn't get it again. Next time I would get a cheeseburger. Cuz....cheeseburgers are amazing. We were the youngest ones in there by about 30 years. That's what happens when you eat dinner at 5 I guess. Our server was on point. Very attentive. Thanks. Too bad I don't know your name. Honestly for a diner, it was good but I'm not sure if it's my Monk's Cafe (Seinfeld). More...

It's been a couple years since my original review of Angie's Family Restaurant so I think it's time to update it. I have been visiting Angie's for years and it continues to be one of my favorite spots for lunch or dinner.  It's just a nice family-friendly business that puts out a great product at reasonable prices. This family owned and operated local business is a pleasure to visit. You are always made to feel like a valued customer.  The outside appearance is rather nondescript located next to a tire shop and behind a BP gas station.  There is plenty of free parking in the private lot shared with a few other businesses.  Upon entering the restaurant you will find a clean space with a simple decor, nothing fancy but very functional.  You will appreciate the spaciousness which provides ample room to navigate the room without bumping into chairs or tables.  You are always greeted by the hostess and shown to your table very quickly.  After you are seated for dinner your server will come to the table for your drink order and bring you a basket of bread and crackers with real butter cups.  I love that they still use real butter and it's soft and spreadable. What I like most about Angie's is the consistency.  Over the years I have never had a disappointing meal or experience.  Service is always fast, friendly and accommodating, even when the restaurant is very busy they manage to maintain their efficiencies.  The food is always enjoyable.  I think I've tried pretty much everything on their menu and have enjoyed everything.  One of my favorites is the Romanian marinated steak which is just incredibly tender and juicy and just packed with flavor, it will make your tastebuds sing.  My wife's favorite is the veal parmesan with spaghetti which is very delicious.  The portions are pretty big so she always has some left to take home for later.  Other favorites of ours include the amazing baked spaghetti, crab cakes, fisherman's platter, flounder, Delmonico steak, hamburger steak (one of their most popular items), liver and onions, cheeseburger and more.  It's all just so wonderfully delicious.  I also love their hand-cut french fries with the skin on, always fresh hot and delicious. Here's a recommendation.  Entrees come with a choice of soup or salad, order the soup.  Their dinner salad is just okay composed of only iceberg lettuce, tomato and onion while their homemade soups are simply outstanding.  The soups are different every day but they're all homemade and really, really delicious.  When you are given the choice between a soso salad or a really amazing cup of soup, go for the soup every time.  Navy bean, vegetable beef, loaded potato, chicken noodle, lentil and sausage, it doesn't matter what the soup of the day is because they are all wonderful. If you haven't been to Angie's lately do yourself a favor and get over there for some great comfort food served in a pleasant family-friendly atmosphere. More...

With 10 minutes notice,  this local favorite accommodated our party of 25. When we arrived our U-shaped table was set and ready to go. Within minutes our orders were taken and bread, crackers, soups and salads were out, which was great after we had worked up an appetite picking pecans nearby. To top it off the food was fast, hot, fresh and delicious. Hand cut fries. Fresh local seafood. The burgers, trout, crab cakes and even the soup du jour sausage lentil soup was great. So glad we went here instead of waiting an hour at Cracker Barrel. More...

Angie's is our new favorite breakfast place. I'd love to post a photo of the biscuits and yummy white sausage gravy or the fresh blueberries pancakes with thick crisp bacon, but my kids and husband and I devoured it before I got the chance. When you pull up, you're going to think that it's small or a dive, but it so isn't. Angie's feels local and quaint. There's lots of room for big parties, but at 10 a.m. on a Sunday, we got a table immediately. Good coffee, great service. Five stars, y'all, for the displaced Southerner in me who found the good gravy. More...

I adore this place and really feel bad for not writing a review sooner. It's nothing fancy or pretentious. It's a family-owned restaurant that's been open for over 20 years, so you know they've done something right. I think some of the servers have been there just as long and they're really friendly.  My family has been going since they opened and I don't think the menu has changed much in all those years.  They have something for everyone - Italian, steaks, seafood, salads.  Our family loves the grilled chicken (on a salad, by itself or with spaghetti), Romanian steak, spaghetti all-the-way, fisherman's platter, pork chops, I don't know what Gus does to the marinade for the Romanian steak but it is RIDICULOUSLY good!!Bread service goes with your meal - fresh Italian bread with butter and Captain's Wafer crackers.. it's my childhood in a basket!Save room for dessert because they usually have at least 7-10 homemade desserts to select from. The carrot cake is delicious! Last star goes for prices. They are incredibly reasonable for the amount of food you get. I dare you to find a fuller fisherman's platter for a lower cost than this place! More...

Angie's Family Restaurant is just that, it is a great place to take your family and enjoy a delicious meal at a great price. The service and food at Angie's is second to none. The wait staff have a knack for remembering your name and favorite dish if you go often enough. The exterior is not the most inviting, but once you get inside, the restaurant has been moderately updated and appears to be very clean. We love all of the waitresses, but our favorite is Patti. Place is not what you expect from the outside.  Very nice family environment and a well rounded menu.  i had the romanian steak and it was delicious.  Luckily they cooked it just right (doesnt usually happen anywhere i go) so that wasnt even an issue.  The sides were fresh and the bill was low.  Overall i had a very good vibe and will be coming back. The restaurant looks like a hole in a wall (attached to a tire/mechanic store).  When you walk in, it's nice & looks bigger in the inside.  There's quite a bit of seating.  We went to dinner.  I noticed a LOT of senior citizens eating dinner. I had the fried chicken breast sandwich & onion rings.  It was GREAT!!! I tore it up haha (mind you in pregnant lol).  My husband wanted catfish (it was on the menu), however the waitress said that it wasn't on the menu anymore & that she didn't know why they didn't take it off (it had been quite a few months).  They brought out bread, crackers, & real, whipped butter (I'm a sucker for bread & butter served  before the food comes).  We had our daughter with us, & we only received 3 slices of cold bread.  It would've been better if it was served warm & had a few more slices.  Aside from the few hiccups (stuff listed on menu that they didn't have anymore & a few slices of cold bread), the food that we had was great! Oh, my husband had crab cakes.  I don't like crab cakes, but these were soooo good.  I'd eat them.  I give them a solid 4 stars!!! I am wanting to go back tonight.  I'll just ask for more bread haha. Surprisingly good!!!Definitely far from the beaten path that I travel. I tried these folks out long before my Yelp days when I ate at chain restaurants several years ago and thought that it was a good mom and pop shop then. Today's visit was pretty darn good. It's a simple set up. When you walk in you can tell that they've been around for years. I'm sure these folks were around long before they started developing the area with neighborhoods and various business centers.Service was excellent. Before I could think about asking for a refill our waitress was ready with another drink at my table. I ordered a burger that was set up like meatloaf. It had gravy on top along with mushrooms. Oh so juicy, flavorful and cooked just as I requested, medium rare. The dish came with fries and they were delicious. Our waitress knew that we were discussing business and she did a great job of being attentive without being overbearing. It's quite far for me to travel but if you're in the area I would say this is a good place to go. (Why you'd be in that area I don't know but if you are...) More...

The waitresses were on their game and always checked in on us, bringing us fresh coffee, milk, and brought our orders our hot and quick!
