What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Connection, communication, and information from my clients are key factors that make a great photographs. Without these three things I wouldn't be able to capture the important moments of my clients and whom they choose to spend those precious moments with.
Of course lighting, timing, and knowledge also plays a big part; however, with out the 3 main factors there wouldn't be anything to begin with.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
For wedding clients, I first ask how they met. A cliche question but I think it is an important one to ask because it gives me a personal connection to my clients; which also helps me know who they are as well. Second would be, important people that they'd like to have photos of with. For example, family members who they haven't seen for a while but have a great connection, immediate family members - parents, close friends etc.
The rest would be essential details regarding their event.
What do you love most about your job?
I love seeing two different persons having a bond that can last a lifetime and celebrating that bond with their family and closest friends.
What inspired you to start your own business?
My own wedding! After my honeymoon, I found myself thinking of starting a wedding photography business but didn't know where to start. I have covered events before for family, friends, and a few groups that I am involved with but never crossed my mind that I can be involved in business. Until I met wedding photographers, fashion photographers and other photographers with similar styles of my own. I started helping them out in their events as a 2nd shooter, and a second pair of hands to help out. After that, I decided to dive into wedding photography!
Why should our clients choose you?
I always ask my clients if they have found other vendors for their wedding; they typically answer no. They are looking for hair and make up, stationary decorators, event coordinators etc. I am involved in the community of creatives - photographers, videographers, florists etc.
I can provide my clients a one stop shop of service for their wedding; making it easier and efficient for them. On the of the wedding however, I am half photographer and (unofficial) half coordinator. I will help you keep track of time, organize your "must have photos with...", and be there to remind both my bride and groom to enjoy the moment and have fun with it!
