What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Anybody with a phone can take a photograph. The key in making an image, even more than the technical aspects, is passion and patience. Andy Wenstrand Photography doesn't guess, we know where to point the camera, how to use the lens, and when to press the shutter.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Our first question is simply, "what is your 'why' for this project?" We want to work with you to create stunning images that meet your needs rather than just documenting what we saw.
The other W's (who, what, where and when) will fall in to place. The "how" is our expertise.
What do you love most about your job?
The "ah-hah" moments are what we live for. It's the moment when preparation meets persistence; when doing the homework translates in to being in the right place, with the right equipment, to over-deliver on your expectations of what we can achieve for you.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Having worked in professional and collegiate sports for nearly 15 years, Andy developed a passion for telling stories through imagery. As an employee of various programs, often times the photography was rushed and documentarian, covering several hundreds of events and portrait shoots each year. Being able to slow down and focus on the art of story telling, we are able to take projects that inspire us to continue telling these stories.
