18/10 Update: their team has now helped me solve the issues and we're having good ongoing communication. They're being very helpful and responsive, I really appreciate that! Thanks Richard and Jamie!10/10 Update: I've had a curteous call and written update from Richard this morning. I'm now hopeful that we will indeed solve the issues. They've said I can leave the parts that had not been cleaned in the same condition, the chairs will be delivered in a few days, and have approved of me buying my own headboard. Also, maintenance is due to come in tomorrow and help me tackle some of the other issues. 9/9/2019 A tenant's perspective: after slotting me in as a last minute tenant and accepting my offer a little under asking price (a previous tenant had failed the credit checks) and paying for 6 days of overlapping tenancies that worked to the agent's/owner's advantage, I'm now being ignored and guilted into not flagging issues I'm discovering after moving into the property or following up on things we'd agreed on. A few examples: 1) It's been 14 days since I moved into the apartment and I've yet to receive the Inventory for the property. Note: I already received the leaving inventory from my *old* property, which I vacated 6 days after this one began. 2) Also, I moved in and NONE of the kitchen cupboards had been cleaned, along with a full storage room and very old leftover bedding in the wardrobes, and a dirty bathtub. Flagged it with the agents and...silence! 3) They'd agreed with the tenants who couldn't move in that they would change some of the furniture. I proposed a different furniture combination, which they agreed to (it added up to the same cost). However, instead of 6 chairs they ordered 4, and made me feel like I asked for too much when I followed up asking for 6. Now I'm following up on the extra two chairs and...silence!4) They also told me that I could not have a headboard installed on the bed because the structure couldn't support it. In fact, they'd installed the bed frame upside down and the headboard structure was at my feet. Now I'm asking them if I can buy my own headboard and... silence!These and so many other issues make me very wary of this agency. I could go on...They've kindly changed the light bulbs that were out before I moved in, so they all work now. However, now the fans are not working and they've not shared how to switch them on! In short, they're respectful until you sign the contract, but will then very reluctantly sort out any issues, if at all.Happy to update my review if I see any real progress and being treated with respect. If I could give more stars I would.. Mike and Karl in the Beckenham branch have really gone above and beyond. If it wasn’t for them helping us I don’t think we have got on the property ladder as we are a young couple. They always helped us, give advice, didn’t push us away at all.
