What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
The key is watching and observing details. It's about noticing connection, making people feel comfortable and listening to what they want.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Who? What? Where? When? Why? What can I do to make this special? How can I exceed expectations?
What do you love most about your job?
I love meeting people and building a personal connection. My proudest moment is when someone says "That photograph made me smile." or "That photo made me cry." It's fantastic when I can create a moment between two people that translates well into a photo.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I enjoy taking photos and I enjoy talking with people. I started out in accounting and moved to webdesign and communications. I've always loved photography so with all of these factors combined, it seemed like a natural extension for me and a great creative outlet as well!
Why should our clients choose you?
I'm a person who cares.
I find beauty in long grass, broken down buildings and places that require hiking boots, umbrellas and bug spray.
Singing in the car is fun. I'm likely to listen to classic rock, the latest pop music, folk, alternative, and blues. Dancing is magic to my soul.
I love autumn in the mountains: crisp air, warm camp fires, and chocolatey smores.
I was married on a beautiful September day in the Rocky Mountains and many people still say it was the best wedding they've ever attended.
There's nothing that pleases me more than a great photo. I love this job and I want to proudly own the title as one of the best Calgary wedding photographers!
My family has my heart. Nothing beats an "I love you Mom." I have a little dog named Sophie who gets so excited every time I enter the house that I wonder if she understands the concept of time. There is a fish named Larry at my house. I have had the pleasure of having many special horses in my life but I'm happily horseless for now.
I love cheese, salted caramel and dark roasted coffee.
I play the guitar, but not that well. I love music and I admire those that can perform.
Exercise is fun to me, as is hiking, camping and all that is nature. I listen to birds, a flowing creek and the rustle of leaves.
By the end of your photography experience, I hope we'll be ready to adopt each other as family and especially as friends.
