This is one of the top level Indian restaurant, I have ever been. In New York and worldwide. I'm not only talking about, the beautiful interior design, excellent service, I'm talking about the magical taste in every dish they serve, which, no other restaurants in Manhattan has. It's above the five star restaurant. It’s always worthy of making trip to. Definitely recommend people in here . More...

My wife and I stopped in on our way from the ferry to Central Park. Very cozy location, exceptional service and the best Indian food we have ever had. I don't have a broad knowledge of Indian dish names, so I asked the server for his recommendation. I wanted chicken, spicy and no flour. He recommended the Chicken Saagwala. Excellent! My wife got Lentil Soup and Chicken Curry. We paired the meal with the best Reisling I've ever had. Overall it was a highlight of our trip. Highly recommended. More...

Little hidden gem on the upper East side. After a day at the Met we decided to try this place within walking distance. We had an excellent meal! Appetizers, entree, and sides were all creatively presented, fragrantly aromatic and quite delicious. A wonderful surprise and worth the walk. Don't miss this interesting Indian restaurant. Moderately priced also. Try the Goat - it was so tender! More...

Had a fantastic meal at Anand on a Friday night. We opted for the specials for our entrees. One was the lamb chops and the other was salmon. Both were excellent choices. I was surprised by how good the salmon was since it came with a lot of sauce on it, I was worried it would take away the flavor of the fish entirely. It came out very nice and was a large piece of fish. The lamb chops were excellent as well, great taste and got a nice portion of five pieces. We had the soup appetizer and a chicken special as well. Both fantastic. Overall experience was great and would definitely go back. Not cheap but I think the price is fair for what you get. Ambiance is very nice and the service was top notch. More...

This is not a very visible restaurant from the street...it is not on the main avenue (2nd Avenue)...it is on a side street, 78th, and a little pushed back . ..so no bright visible signs leading to Anand...but it is our excellent, modestly priced Indian/Bangladeshi restaurant neighbourhood restaurant. The food is always good and tasty and nicely spiced...my preference is for their Tilapia Curry...their yellow dal is wonderful. And it is less pricey than some of the Indian restaurants on the avenue, and better tasting. Excellent, welcoming staff. Often not very crowded. It now has a liquor license...and could do with with a wider range of quality beers, including IPAs (main reason for 4 stars rather than 5!) Here there is no attempt at fancy, upscale Indian cuisine...it is just good, down-to- earth, tasty Indian/Bangladeshi food. More...

While visiting NYC, I really wanted to take my boyfriend out for some Indian food, and we walked quite far to find this gem. We were not disappointed, it was worth the journey. The service was warm and friendly and the food was deliciously prepared. We even were able to have our meal cooked to the level of spice we wanted (we wanted a lot of heat). It was delicious! I highly recommend coming here whether you’re from out of town or in the city! Worth it! More...

I brought my meetup group to Anand for dinner (there were 14 of us) and they happily accommodated such a large group AND gave us each separate checks. That is stellar to me because no one ever gives us separate checks. The food was delicious and prices were good. Rice doesn't come with the entrees-FYI- and there is a corkage fee. We would definitely go back here! More...

My only real complaint is portion size. Could be a bit bigger. The Rohan Josh was good. Spicy and the lamb wasn't tough but wasn't buttery soft either. The fried okra was not well received and the Aloo Paratha was very greasy. But overall it was good. 3.5 maybe 4 stars More...
