Amazing. At first I wasnt sure about her style of work: spending 3-4 hours with us in our daily routine. But when I saw the result I was amazed! So beautiful, so natural, so funny; she can really grab special moments/instants and make the most incredible photos out of them! Worth trying. In a week or so, she sent me the link with the result: 80 fantastic souvenirs! More...

I never felt very comfortable with the idea of professional family photography often thinking it was not natural enough or we would not be at ease, until I met Ana. Today I am hooked, but I know it is because of her way of capturing and understanding the true and real emotions of the daily life. When I looked at the pictures I felt as if my own eyes had been behind the camera. She captured through her lens , us , just as we are and in the most beautiful way. I truly and definitely recommend! Ana is lovely & makes you feel totally comfortable, you do your normal things & she manages to take the right picture, which will bring the magic out of these timeless moments. She told me on the day : "people cry when seeing their pictures", which I thought was a little exaggerated, but when I saw my family pictures, I knew she was right....It was a Xmas present, which I would never have considered, but I think now it will become a yearly routine for us! Amazing portrait photographer! I turned up in a cafe to meet Ana. She sat me next to the window and within a couple of minutes of lovely chatting she was casually snapping away, it was so comfortable and not at all awkward, and the whole thing took about 15 minutes. I loved all the pics she sent me and she did exactly what I asked for with the editing. Highly recommend! More...

Q&As

My view of documentary family photography is that it is unscripted, unposed, and records what happens naturally. I’ll come to your home, or meet you at the park or at brunch, wherever you choose, and just take photos as you and your family or friends interact just as you would on a day when a photographer was not present. I will not ask you to pose, sit still, “say cheese”, or pretend anything. There is no pretending, this is your life, documented. Let the kids be kids, Dad do his thing, and Mum just enjoy the experience.

I want these photos to capture the true essence of your family, your relationships, the stage of your life you are currently experiencing. I want it to be real, in all its tamtrum-ing, messy, teary, silly, beautiful glory. I want to capture this chapter in your story, so that you can look and remember exactly how it looked and felt at this very moment.

Before your session, I will send you a questionnaire to get to know you and your family a little bit better. Together we will come up with a couple of activities ahead of time that will facilitate interaction and connection between your family members during the session. I want to capture the true essence of your family, and your home, so you should not go out of your way to clean up, dress up, or do anything out of the ordinary. I will be there to record your life as it really is, at this moment in time.

If there is one thing I love doing when I visit my parents is going through my childhood photography albums. Still, I am often left feeling that there is a lot more that I’d like to re-live. While most of the family photos are taken at birthdays, weddings, Christmases, the 95% of the time in between these isn’t that often captured.

It is in all the little moments in between – the walks around the block, the toy-strewn house, the living room dance parties, the art projects, the laughs with friends, the lazy Sunday mornings. These are the moments to remember. The candid snippets of every day. It’s in these moments that our stories really unfold.

This is why my favourite photos are often the ones where we weren’t aware of the camera, those completely unposed. My brother in roller-skates chasing me around, our evenings in the garden playing with the hose and sprinklers, playing with our dog Kavic, the most sweet and crazy boxer, my love for the beach captured always leaving crying in my mum’s arms.

When you get your gallery of photographs, what you will see are real emotions. Real laughs. Real smiles. Real Love. Maybe some real grump-faces and few real tears, too. But all that expression will be real and authentically you and your family. You can me reassured that the smiles on faces are a reflection of true happiness.

Your family has a story, many stories actually to tell, and I believe they should be preserved.
