I was an extremely anxious bride. I have really bad anxiety without any wedding stress, so I knew I'd need help with wedding planning. From the get go, Sharon was so helpful and knowledgeable. I was having a hard time finding a venue due to wanting a liquor-free reception. Sharon pointed me in the direction of the perfect venue. Same with photographer. Ditto for most of my other vendors, with whom I was so pleased. If I had a question, she had a prompt answer. She helped me keep track of everything that needed to be done through the year leading up to my wedding. On my wedding day, EVERYTHING was completely smooth. Sharon was amazing through the whole wedding process. She met with us multiple times throughout the planning process making sure we had thought of every detail and everything was in order. She set up a hotel block for our guests and when we noticed some of our guests had booked outside of our block because their triple A discount was a better price then our block Sharon took charge and told us not to worry and she would take care of it. That was an understatement Sharon called and got the hotel to agree to give everyone the discount and not let the numbers affect our block so we didn’t get charged extra. The day before the wedding Sharon also told us that if there were any issues or little hiccups to go straight to her and she would take care of it and our only job for that day was to enjoy each other and the day itself and she delivered! Having Sharon was such a relief. At the time I was in the process of changing jobs, buying a new home, renovating our new home and getting married. We were overwhelmed with everything and didn’t know where to turn. Thankfully, we found out about Sharon from one of our friends weddings and decided to utilized her services. From begin to end she was such a big help. She help recommend businesses who could help with everything from the flowers to venues and even our officiant. Many of which we would have never know about from anyone else. When meeting with the vendors she was very thorough and made sure they were giving us the best deal and make sure they met our expectations. I can't say thank you enough. It seemed like I didnt have a care in the world on my wedding day when it came to timing and vendors. I got to enjoy the whole day. She had the best recommendations as well and is so knowledgeable. Everyone we worked with was a dream and it was thanks to her! Sharon handled everything and I was so calm in the months and weeks leading into our big day. I was beyond grateful when my husband surprised me with a wedding planner (Sharon). With work and moving into a new home the both of us were busy and on top of that we were planning a wedding. Sharon has genuine concern for us. She guided us step-by-step. Because of her attention to detail and resourcefulness, our wedding went very well. We had no stress, zero worry. She planned everything several months ahead. All of my friends asked me how I could be so calm before the wedding. I just smiled since I trusted Sharon and her vendors. We have Adam for DJ. My wife and I had an extremely positive experience with Sharon. After realizing we had a ton of details to iron out a few weeks before our wedding, we connected with Sharon for "Month Of" services, and we were extremely happy with the results. We had multiple phone conversations in which Sharon compiled all of our vendor information and then put together a comprehensive timeline, identifying a ton of small details that we hadn't even thought of. She was also a great liaison between our band and our caterer, both of whom had strong ideas about the timing and progression of the reception.

Sharon was extremely helpful not just during the day but also during the entire planning process. One of the first things she did was look through our vendor contracts. She pointed out important details that I've overlooked. She listened to our issues and attended our final meetings with the venue. She was there for us when our 3rd venue coordinator decided to leave 2 months prior to our wedding. She immediately had a meeting setup with the owner right away to discuss a path forward. After meeting with the owner who was extremely grumpy and difficult, Sharon had secured a second assistant to help her to make sure our day went smooth.

We were faced with the horrible forecast of rain. Sharon had independently facilitated the rehearsal in our Plan B inside ceremony room. She walked everyone through the ceremony including where they would need to sit. She even advised what to do if there were complications. The day of the wedding, Sharon was ready bright and early at the ceremony site (anticipated to be inside due to the rain) and was there to witness the owner denying our use of the inside room due to fire code the morning of the wedding a half hour before we needed to decide. She immediately came to my room to give me the awful news and started contacting all of the vendors and letting them know. She had her assistant get umbrellas at the dollar store for our guests, made sure all of the chairs were wiped down, figured out where the DJ could put the speaker out of the rain so we could still have music and even worked it out with one of our guests that the bridal party could hide in their room to keep us in secret until the ceremony start time! Similar to postings from other brides, I wasn't convinced that we needed a day-of coordinator. I'm the type of person who has difficulty giving up control but my mom met Sharon and instantly knew that having her for the month prior would be helpful. Planning most of the wedding from Miami and having the ceremony at a public park made having a point-person extremely helpful that day. Especially considering extraneous factors that I didn't anticipate like weather and the fact that the park had actually double-booked the space that day. Sharon jumped to action and my guests had no clue that we narrowly avoided a major problem. Sharon was a blast to work with. She kept me in line since the first day we met. It did not matter how I contacted her: phone, email, text, she always responded and if she did not know the answer she would find it. I am the mother of the bride.. when my daughter said she was getting a wedding planner I asked her "do you really think we need one? " Well the answer is absolutely..... Sharon was with us the whole time... from the wedding preparation, wedding rehearsal, to rehearsal dinner, at the hotel making sure we were running on time leaving for the church. And I have to add.. she and her assistance put up forty (40) pew decorations before everyone got to the church. Timing was perfect for the wedding, I even saw her getting the attention of the organist to start the wedding march music on time. After the ceremony we were still on her schedule of leaving the church, getting to the park for pictures and then to the reception hall all on time.. not to mention she took down all the pew decorations and brought all the bouquets of flowers from the church to the reception hall. She was at the reception hall before any of the guests making sure everything was just perfect and it was.....all they way to the end of the reception... If there was a hick up or a problem someplace along the way... we did not know about it. The wedding was beautiful, just the way I dreamed my daughter would have one.

Originally, the idea was to tackle everything ourselves. Home backyard venue with 40 people. How difficult can this be? Well, I'm sure we are not alone in wanting this day to be perfect. But attaining this kind of magical day, we would need someone else's guidance. After reading a number of reviews, we contacted Sharon Dickinson at An Affair To Remember. Being a gay couple, we never know what kind of reaction there might be. Without hesitation, Sharon learned of our plan and embraced fully what would lie ahead! At our first meeting(and from that point forward), Sharon was a very effective "middle person" between us and Vendor's. She was always available when questions or issues arose. This was invaluable to us and alleviated so much stress. Because our wedding was at our home, we felt additional pressure.
