I love American Tiger Karate Academy.I put all my three kids there. I went few martial art Dojo before I found America Tiger Karate but this is the best place. It's because of Senei Pat who lead the Dojo. When I tried out another places, they all motivated with money. But when I checked American Tiger Karate Academy, it was very clear that Sensei Pat is really teaching the kids. I have trained at American Tiger Karate Academy for a total of thirteen years. Without a doubt this Dojo is what shaped me into what I am today. I not only learned how to defend myself in any given situation, I also grew mentally, and physically. I matured over these years, I found myself making wiser decisions because I took my karate past the Dojo, I carried it with me everywhere I went (go). I am extremely fortunate to have known Sensei Pat all these years. Her sincerity, enthusiasm and dependability are traits I have attempted to mirror since 1997. My daughter started training in 2016 and she could not have a better role model. My son is expecting to start training soon! I think this place is terrific. The Sensei really seems to understand techniques as well as how to translate those to students so they can learn. My son was previously enrolled in a martial arts school in Addison and when he went to the tournament he was woefully unprepared. Within one month of attending here he's already more advanced than he was after a year and a 1/2 at the other place. More...

I was one of the first adult students who started with American Tiger Karate Academy back in 1995. I learned confidence, self defense and a love for the traditional art of Shotokan. Sensei Pat Pusateri has so much knowledge and understanding of the art you can't help but feel the strong desire to do your best. My 17 yr old son who is high functioning autistic attends Senpai Amy's class and she is wonderful with him. My other son who is 15 attends during the week and I wouldn't trust my boys being taught by any other school. You never feel berated but you are pushed hard and respect towards​ the instructors and to the other students & also to yourself is always a must do for everyone.
