Ambiance Window CoveringS

This review is written 1.5 yrs after the service. When building our new home my wife tasked me with getting window blinds installed. She wanted me to get a quote from Budget Blinds based on a recommendation of a co-worker. I called Budget Blinds a total of 5 times over the course of 1 month and never got to speak to a person. I always got an answering machine. I have a pet-peeve when it comes to having to play a cat-mouse game when trying to give someone business. Tip to Budget Blinds, hire someone to answer phones or hire more people. Out of frustration I decided to do a quick Google Maps search and gave Ambiance Window Covers a call. First call, I was able to speak with Donna (I think? Sorry, its been over a year). Donna was driving to a job site when i called her and she pulled over to get my information. During her consultation visit she actually talked me out of getting expensive curtain blinds we "thought" we wanted and recommended some Hunter Douglas blinds. She scheduled the installation on the same day as our move in, which was great. We had concerns about leaving all of our furniture/electronics in a home without window covering.

Donna and her install guy did the job in about 1-2 hours with great results. We love our window blinds. I really appreciated Donna's professionalism but most of all I appreciated the price. My wife's co-worker who used Budget Blinds had less/smaller windows then our home but we ended up playing less.

My only complaint would be the installation of the covers that go over the pulley system on our door side window blinds. When someone opens the door too wide the left cover falls off all the time and it's scratching the paint on our door. I am sure it will eventually break from the repeated hits to the ground.

I will likely contact Donna again to do 3 other windows in our home. Highly recommend Ambiance Window Covering!

After posting my original review I was contact by Donna because of the issue with our front door cover falling off. I didn't think it was a big issue and didn't even think it was Ambiance Window Coverings fault but Donna offered to fix the problem for free. That was definitely unexpected and very appreciated! Originally, Donna at Ambiance Window Coverings had helped me with a full basement finish project plus a main floor update. When I moved, there was no hesitation is having Donna assist me with the remodel of the entire main floor. The kitchen was gutted to the studs. Donna totally is amazing. Not only did she listen to my needs for both privacy and light in the sidelight window by my front door, she found the perfect solution. A top down bottom up roman shade that allows the light to enter through the top but provides the privacy I want from people standing on the porch to see in. Just had my patio door covering installed by Ambiance today. After a yearlong 1st floor DIY renovation, my wife and I were so glad to have someone like Donna and her team of professionals put the finishing touch on our new windows. All the design decisions can be exhausting, picking out finishes, paint colors, light fixtures, etc. It was a real joy to have Donna come into our home and work with us to pick just the right window treatments and curtains. My wife and I are particular, and she listens and makes suggestions that made the process easy and smooth! Donna was very easy to work with. She was very perceptive and professional. Her timing on arrival and hanging blinds was always prompt. I am a rather indecisive person when it comes to decorating! She helped me make the perfect decision on two projects. One was a specially insulated 'accordian-like' cover for my patio windows. Being ecologically correct, I also received a tax deduction! This blind has made a major difference in this living space: a decrease in heating and privacy, too! The other projects were blinds for the living room and a bedroom with Silhouettes. I am pleased with all the decisions Donna helped me make. I will certainly call her again, if needed.
