We signed the contract in Late October 2021. 60% deposit. Said it would be 5-6 weeks once they started. Started in February 2022. Bathroom remodel. Finished in July....well sort of finished. They never came back once the bathroom was supposed to be finished for a final walk through. They ruined the carpet in the bedroom, did not send a cleaning crew, and failed to come address the finish issues. WE HAVE NOW CHOSEN NOT TO HAVE THEM COME BACK.

I ended up calling every day from the start to finish, to find out if anyone was coming that day. Many days they didn't show up and never called to tell us they weren't coming. I became the project manager....they had none. If you speak spanish this is about the only way to communicate with them....virtually all of their employees and contractors (yes they use contractors even though Carolina said they don't) speak only spanish. This is a company that has over committed and under delivers. Avoid.

Amaro Builders Inc.

Sherry Anderson
Relationship: Client
Project Date: March 2023
Going on 8 months since giving a deposit of 19,950. 00 and work not really started..see photos. We have lost all faith and hope in Amaro Builders. Words and appointments not kept. They have held our money and lives hostage for the past 8 months. No responses to emails, dont answer phone calls and no return calls. Only response was after posting a bad review resulting in 2 workers showing up 4 hours late unloaded about a dozen 2x4,s. Few days later 2 workers show up again over 2 hours late..nailed a few boards together then.....ghost again.
Although we were requested by AMARO BUILDERS to remove the negative review which was immediately done thinking that was to begin work on our project. We have requested a refund which has received the same as other communications ...nothing...ghosted again. I fully intend to share my experience loud and clear until complete resolution

I cannot find the right words to capture how horrible this company is, but will say they are the WORST of the worst. I hired them back in May 2022 to renovate my Naples condo. There were red flags from the very beginning that I should have realized but I was excited when Carolina claimed to be able to do everything I was looking to do - floors, kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms - within the time constraints of my HOA. I was very clear that they had 5 months to do the work which had to be completed by Oct 1st. "It will not be a problem", Carolina assured me. I paid a 50% deposit of $25k right away. The following day, Carolina claimed the could do my lanai doors within that time frame as well - which, being new to renovation work, I naively believed, not realizing that this was next to impossible given the window/glass delays are at least 6 months. I sent over another $29k. Of course, they were super responsive prior to me sending the money and almost immediately after they received the funds, the communication took a turn. I could not get through to anyone. Upon learning of the window delays, I tried reaching Carolina for a discussion on this multiple times with no response - which is when I used a friend's phone with a different area code and she picked up RIGHT AWAY. Surprised - she got mad at me for having questions and was talking in circles - which would be the case with her every conversation after. "Mr. Amaro" - Carolina's husband, then called me to ensure me they had their own supplier for windows and everything would be fine (in perfect english, I might add - as he pretended not to speak any when he talked to my lawyer and project manager). When Amaro couldn't produce documentation/proof on this, I had to involve a lawyer to help get this piece removed from the project, however, Amaro refused to return the $29k which resulted in me paying for 100% of the project up front.

Here we are, 8 months later, it is clear that Amaro has STOLEN over $50k from me and have left me with a condo that has just been completely demoed. I've spent thousands on lawyer fees and have had to hire a new contractor to do the work (and it's been a night and day difference with the new company having done more work in 2 weeks than Amaro did in 8 months).

The icing on the cake - when i had my lawyer reach out to Amaro to say that I was ending the project and pursuing legal action, and upon finding out that Mr. Amaro was also in various legal trouble - having failed to appear in court for a misdemeanor at the end of November, and being sued by another client for $550k for not finishing work - Amaro was all over me to "to them a favor" and let them complete the work. Via my lawyer, I let Amaro I would not pursue legal action if they delivered the supplies that I paid for - to which they jerked me around several more weeks (first claiming they had everything ready to go onsite when begging to do the work, then claiming it was a different warehouse)...to no surprise, the material was never delivered.

I am now at a point where I'm reaching out to every branch in FL, including the District Attorney, to make sure Amaro's license is revoked, and pursuing legal action to help ensure that Mr. Amaro sees jail time - as taking anything over $10k in Florida is considered fraud. I will make it my mission to make follow his contact and anyone associated with him so that he cannot pop up somewhere under a different name. I'm not sure if they were a legit company before the owner's divorce as the reviews were relatively positive when I hired them - but they are now the lowest of the low scam artists and I hope no one else has to go through the same experience that I did.

Amaro Builders were contracted by my wife and myself to do a complete renovation for our condo at Cross Creek Country Club. The owners Kimais and Carolina insight and attention to detail in the planning of this project along with their passion, quality of products, and competitive pricing made it very easy for us to choose their company. We left the entire project in their hands and we returned back to Canada. Luis and his crew did a remarkable job and were so accommodating to work with. The finished project defiantly exceeded our expectations in every aspect. We would dependently recommended with no hesitation. Amaro Builders would be our top pick to anyone wanting an exceptional job. -Reg & Nancy More...

They were outstanding… They remodeled a bathroom for us in our Naples condo and we were managing the process from Miami but they were completely trustworthy and got it done in the timeframe they had promised… Amazing quality work as well! I just wish we had more business to send their way ... More...

Q&As

We have been in business for over 6 years, serving Lee, Collier & all surrounding counties.

We provide a 1 year warranty on all our work no matter how big or small the job.

Perfection is what we love, if the job does not look look impeccable we are not happy. We enjoy the whole process of remodeling and the customer's delighted reaction after our work is done is the best compliment we can get.

We had a carpentry business before opening Amaro Builders but were limited in the work we could perform. So we decided to get the required licensing to do all types of work for our customers.

I find most clients choose us because of 3 things, Quality of work we perform, they trust our word & convenience. Aside from owning a contractor business we also own a showroom in Naples where we have everything for a home remodel.
