Amara Photography

My wife and I were married in Charleston, SC in January of this year. We found Sam at Amara Photography to capture our wedding. From our first meeting for our engagement photos, he demonstrated professionalism and skill in wedding photography as well as an enjoyment in his work. Sam was a great photographer to work with and a tremendous help figuring out the best locations for our engagement photos and first look as well as all other photography aspects of our wedding. During the night of the wedding, he was always in the right places at the right times, capturing the big moments, but not interfering in the least in any of the nights events. We paid for five hours of his photography and, from start to finish – during the ceremony, reception, and even on the dance floor – he worked hard to capture every moment. The quality of the photos we received was excellent beyond our expectations and we have no complaints. Sam was great! He helped photograph our wedding this past weekend. He is fun with a great sense of humor. I am detailed oriented and he put up with me. He was so patient and so kind. Out of all the vendors Sam was our favorite. He was open to various types of photos. He offered suggestions. I would really recommend Sam and Amara photography. I am so glad we chose Amara Photography. Sam is awesome! Of all of our Vendors, the bride said she enjoyed Sam the most. He was on time and ready to shoot. In fact, he was early. Sam is kind. Very knowledgeable and open to suggestions. I am very detailed and he put up with me. Sam is very patient. He has a great staff as well that I dealt with for about a year in planning for this day. You will be very happy with Sam as your photographer. He keeps things fun. Sam also is emotionally attached to the day. He wants to capture all of the right moments, the special moments. He has a great heart and does an excellent job. We went with 2 photographers and I am so glad that we did. I would recommend Sam if you are looking to have a photographer for any occasion. We look forward to seeing the photos when they are completed.

I would certainly use Sam again. We got lots of detail photos, etc. Any shot you want, Sam will try and get.

Amara Photography was AMAZING. Our wedding was June 5th so our review is kind of late. Amara photography brought so much energy and fun to Picture taking for our May wedding! They worked so well with each wedding party group and made taking photos (which my fiancé and I were thinking we just wanted to get over with) one of our favorite parts of the whole day! Everyone in the wedding party commented on how comfortable they felt with the camera people and how "into it" the photographers were. We were all laughing and enjoying when one of them took a photo and looked at the screen and said "beautiful" or "oh yea!". They had great ideas for different shots and listened to our ideas as well. They are active and energetic-- I spotted Sam literally laying on the dance floor in a quick ninja-style to get an action shot of my 2-year-old nephew doing some funny dance moves. Sam at Amara Photography is wonderful. He was so fun and our photos turned out beautifully. We have a large family and he was very accommodating. We hired Amara photography for our wedding in October and we made a great decision. Sam was very professional when we met with him and we loved the photobook he brought for examples. Unfortunately our wedding had to be rescheduled last minute due to a hurricane, and Sam was unavailable on our rescheduled date, but he made sure to have one of his second photographers available for us. We hired Amara Photography for our July wedding on Folly Beach and also for our engagement photos. The photos were all absolutely perfect! ! Sam was so easy to work with. He was like a ninja with a camera.... He got a ton of great candid shots and people looked so natural in the photos (due to Sam's stealthiness). After sharing the photos with family and friends, I've been told by numerous people that our wedding looked like something out of a movie, it was so beautiful.
