Amantea Architects

We retained Amantea Architects to design a replacement kitchen for our home. The project required that a contemporary design be integrated into a 1902 Arts and Crafts style house. It also required a design that unified two contiguous and disparate spaces and which juxtaposed itself against existing architectural upgrades. And finally, it required a design that would be functional but unique. Michael Amantea embraced all of these objectives with sensitivity and relish. Historical elements from the original house inspired components of his new design in ways that were evocative and harmonious rather than literal. He and his team enthusiastically explored cutting edge ideas and technologies. The outcome was beautiful and highly innovative; the detailing and execution were cohesive, careful and precise. Michael proved himself willing to be as collaborative with the client in design development as the client wished him to be – in our case, collaborative in the extreme. We hired Amantea Architects to build a new garage for us. Given the modern and urban style of our house, we were looking for a creative force to extend our style and vision to the garage. We interviewed 9 architects for the job, and Michael and his team won us over with their vision, their passion for their work, their skill and knowledge and their professionalism.
Michael and his team listened to us carefully and patiently and designed a stunning structure within a very reasonable budget. The firm guided through the construction process attentively and professionally. Michael has also gone above and beyond to coordinate some pricing and suppliers.
Our garage has become a true extension of our house, and provides us a peaceful passage from the outside world to our home everyday. The visually stunning garage also gains so much compliments from our fiends.

We called Michael Amantea to design our outdoor living space that would serve as our primary amenity. With the hopes to accommodate an elaborate program, we needed a creative, modern response to an existing landscape that presented many challenges. Michael and his team listened carefully to our ideas and seamlessly lead us through a process that was thoughtful, collaborative and very enjoyable. From the development of a sophisticated site strategy, to presenting the architectural proposal in a way that we could visualize, to preparing a detailed agenda for implementation that all of the trades marveled at, Michael created not only a fantastic outdoor oasis but an extension of our home. Our Pavilion forms a backdrop that we experience from inside and outside. We cannot emphasize enough that no detail was left to chance. Michael and his studio provided the vision and ability to implement a highly refined architectural response that is beautiful and programed to serve the purpose that it was designed for and more!
