Altered Images is a well established and highly respected photo studio based in South Yorkshire. We are Master Photographers and members of SWPP. We have awards for both photography and customer service. Specialising in events such as weddings, proms, engagements, parties etc we also offer studio work for portraits, portfolios and Cherubs.

Robert and Michelle photographed our wedding recently and we were so happy with the service we received. Whenever we had any queries in the run up to the big day, Robert would always be quick to respond to our questions and our meeting with him a couple of weeks before the wedding allowed us to all run through the order of the day together, and the kinds of photos we'd like, and Robert helped us to think of all kinds of aspects to the day that we hadn't even considered previously.
On the day, Robert and Michelle were complete professionals and captured wonderful images that we will cherish forever. We also hired Altered Images' photo booth for our evening reception, and this was great fun - guests loved it and we also got to take away our guest book to look at as soon as the day had ended.
Our photo album has just arrived in time for Christmas, and we absolutely love it!
Thank you so much, Robert and Michelle. I would highly recommend Altered Images to anyone.

Robert and Michele photographed our wedding and we are truly delighted. They were well organised and very professional on the day. Our guests even commented how nice, polite and helpful they were. We met Robert and his team and from the very first moment we were extremely impressed. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Forget cameras, forget flashguns, forget big lenses. To get the photos that really capture the whole essence and emotions of events such as weddings, engagements, coming of age, new arrivals etc is all about people skills. It is the ability to get people to really show all of their joy and fun at often some of the mile points in their journey through life. A good photographer has people skills. A good photographer listens. A good photographer has patience. Are you looking for a good photographer?
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
All too often photographers tell the clients what they can do for them. We only ask what do you want us to do for you? We listen! We are happy to make suggestions but of course it is the couple who are getting married and not us! We know most venues in the area so can happily suggest the best possibilities for capturing amazing photos but of course above all we listen!
What do you love most about your job?
I love people! When they are at their best and enjoying the day what could be a better job in the world than to photograph people ? Capturing the smiles, the laughs, the most intimate moments and tears of joy and emotion.
What inspired you to start your own business?
It all started back in 1984 when I was just a mere whippersnapper. I opened a club for photographers in two portakabins that I acquired for a song. I would organise events mainly in the studio but also on location. So it was fun and an interest; still using wet photography. I became a master of printing and started to carry out presentations using new chemistry and methods to other amateurs. I had confidence and I was asked to photograph my first wedding, still using film. So that was when the seed was sown and the flower grew from there. Of course times change and we have always get up with the latest methods and technology often developing new ways of working ourselves. And me being a people person I love being out at events but I am also equally at home in the studio.
Why should our clients choose you?
We have become very popular being a lot busier than most other studios. This is a big advantage for us as we get plenty of practice trying new ideas and becoming familiar with most venues. It helps being recognized and well known at most venues as we have developed a good working relationship and work hand in hand with the venue staff. Then of course having a larger turnover means we can keep our prices down, passing massive savings on to our customers. You do the maths - a photographer booking ten weddings per year needs to pass on a tenth of the overheads to each client - whereas we pass on less than 1% of our costs to our clients. With accreditation from organisations such as I Do Magazine and Guides for Brides there surely can be only one choice.
