What do you love most about your job?

Helping developers and homeowners achieve their goals. This almost always entails investigation of their site, local policies and utilising analytical skills to formulate a planning strategy to best meet the client briefing. Having worked on householders and stables to wind turbines and a 15 storey student accommodation, the variety of issues and types of development parameters make planning, oddly, very exciting!

What inspired you to start your own business?

I enjoy providing straight talking and honest planning advice and strategies to developers and homeowners alike. I remember being 'told off' when working for a local authority for providing honest advice to the public, and I do not enjoy charging every minute of my time just to help someone out who needs a bit of help. Starting my own business allows me to allocate my time to help the general public with their planning enquiries and my speech is not restricted by the organisation I work for.
