We had Alma cater for our engagement party at Manifest Distilling last week. The owners were so nice throughout the whole process making sure we got what we wanted for our guests, and the tacos are SO DELICIOUS! My favorites are the dynamite shrimp and sweet potato. I highly recommend them for private events, or anything at all! Thank you Alex and Maria!!! More...

We hired the Alma Food Truck for a private event in the Jacksonville area for about 125 people. They were extremely good at communication for details about the event. They arrived promptly and had everything set up and ready to go at the start time of the event. I highly recommend for any private event. We will definitely keep them in mind if we ever need a food truck for another event! More...

Let's start with I ate with Alejandro right before the fire that destroyed his truck. Now he is back in full force. He makes everything on the truck with his own bare hands. Hell he waited the truck. His food is really good with heat where it is suppose to be. It is not the burn your head off heat but the heat that complements the dish. I was pretty hungry waiting all day to try his food again. I will say that he did extremely well. I got 3 tacos and each one had its own flavor package. The shrimp (on the dynamite shrimp) were perfectly cooked with a touch of heat. The slaw an sweet chili aioli smoothed things down. My steak juanito taco was fabulous with nice seasoning and tender. I mean real tender but still had a bite. I finished with the pork belly taco, a must if you know me. This one could be my favorite but the steak still sticks in my head. This taco was thinly sliced pork belly (I saw the piece) then accompanied with the asian slaw and garlic aioli. Just plain yummy coming from a man that cures n smokes his own bellies. In all this truck could quickly race to the top of new food trucks in Jax. So if you see hear or someone tells you go to this truck now quick fast. See Ya soon. More...

Very unique spin on Asian and Mexican food! You can choose to have your protein either in a taco, ramen burrito, or rice bowl. I have tried several dishes in different forms and while they are all delicious the carne asada ramen burrito (my favorite) is a MUST!! Awesome owners too! More...

Alma's fusion was out at my work today. I tried four their The Asian One taco, was a great taco full of flavor. The pork belly with caramel. Sweet and salty on taco with cilantro great combination of flavors. The Dynamite Shrimp Taco full of flavor with the perfect amount of spice. Enough to hit you in your mouth but not enough to kill your stomach. The Steak Juanito Taco by far the best steak taco ive had in a long while. Finally ate the Chicken Tinga Taco this taco was my least favorite of the four. This being the chicken needed more season for my taste. Wasnt bad but parts of the taco that didnt have the spicy tomato sauce was little bland. I know if i try it again to ask for extra sauce More...

We have tried a few food trucks and this is the first one we actually enjoyed and would order from again! My husband and I both ordered 3 tacos: had the shrimp, chicken tinga, and carne asada. Husband had chicken tinga, steak Juanito, and good manok. All of them were really yummy, we just wish there was more! The shrimp one did taste a bit fishy, hence the 4 star. Excited to try them again! More...

We had a great dinner at the Alma Food Truck tonight. We caught them at one of our favorite locations, Engine 15 Downtown. We love that spot because we also have fun their AND the kids do too.My husband and I both chose to go with tacos so we could try as many flavors as possible. He had:1. The Asian OneSesame pork belly, guacamole, pickled red cabbage, cotija cheese and cilantro.2. "Carne Asada"Rich braised steak, pico de gallo, avocado and spicy aioli.3. Dynamite ShrimpBlackened shrimp, kimchi slaw, jalapeños and sweet chili aioli. And I had the:1. Steak Juanito24 hour sous vide steak, sambal caramel, guacamole, roasted peppers, jalapeños and cotija cheese.2. "Carne Asada"3. The Daily Special - Beer TacoChicken marinated in a special Main and Six beer, served with a pico de slaw, jalapeños and sour cream. They were all delicious! Each taco had such a unique flavor and luckily for me, my husband is willing to share. My favorite of the night was actually one of his, the Asian One. So savory, juicy and delicious. But honestly the others were all right up there with it. I love spicy and the spicy aioli on the Carne Asada really hit the spot. The Steak Juanito had that perfect savory sweet combo, that was oh soooo good! Then there was the Beer Taco that I wish wasn't just a one time special. All in all, the tacos were beautiful, the flavors were fantastic and the owners were wonderful to meet. Definitely give this spot a shot. More...

Excited to discover this new food truck! I was intrigued at their selection of Asian Fusion dishes and options to either have a taco, burrito, or rice bowl. They're a little slow so if you're in a rush then it's not for you - they even state that on their sign SESAME PORK BELLY RICE BOWL - 5/5Yummm. I'm a sucker for pork belly anything and this dish contained cuts of fatty goodness along with leaner cuts. They give a large amount of food so it's a great value. While flavorful on its own, try it with hot sauce.I will be on the hunt for this food truck again More...

Ramen Burritos are REAL and Alma has mastered them! I got the Steak Juanito Ramen Burrito with 24hr sous vide steak, guacamole, roasted peppers, jalapeños and cotija cheese. It has a great kick with the jalapeños, but was balances with the creamy guac and cotija cheese. This was a party in my mouth, so I'm so looking forward to having another Alma party! The burrito also came with a side of chips and salsa (which was fresh and delicious!)The team working in the truck were super friendly and very quick, to boot. Looking forward to trying them again!! This truck was outside our office building one windy Friday. I was a little confused when I saw the Alma Food Truck. According to all the reviews and pictures for an Alma Food Truck, there was a red food truck, that is pretty decked out, this day had a white truck that was pretty plain. The menu was very hard to read since it's was in dry erase and it was a sunny lunch afternoon. I was handed a paper menu, yay! Much easier to read. I went for the chicken, steak and pork belly with no jalapeno or guacamole. WOW. Best tacos I have ever had(minus the pork belly), I'm not a "taco" guy but I do know what tastes good and these tacos taste very good. 3 tacos for 10 bucks I recall. They also offer bowls and burritos too if tacos aren't your thing, I might go for one of those next time. More...

I'm entering some uncharted territory here - it's so hipster it hurts- Food Truck Reviews. But listen, before you dismiss this mention of food on wheels, let me explain. I came across this convenient dining offering when I was attending a goodbye outing for my friend Megan who is moving to Delaware. Can we have a moment of silence for the Jacksonville about to be departed to up North? On this bitter-sweet occasion, we were enjoying some beverages and rehashing memories at Aardwolf - some know it as a brewery, I know it as the backdrop for game night. While the brewery has a nice little list of beers that make right there, they do not serve food.Enter Alma. Some Taco TalkParked right outside Aardwolf sat a truck with a little of taco delights. Now I started by asking a rather embarrassing and totally revealing of my lack of authenticity question - do you have ground beef. OK, I but I love spicy ground beef tacos, so I figured I'd start there. Alas, I had to opt for steak instead. The girl who worked in the truck said this would be better. My friend Philippe was enthusiastically helped me navigate the menu and choose the steak tacos. He even translated my ground beef question. My friend Megan had tried the shrimp tacos and said they were good. Her husband tried the Ramen Burrito and liked it. I was starving and ready for any of it.In lickety split time - especially for a food truck with all of its fancy made to order items - I got my food. I grabbed a ramekin of siracha and one of the verde salsa, thinking it never hurts to have a little extra spice on hand. These sauces were completely unnecessary. Between splash of avocado from the (not nearly enough, especially for how delicious it was) guacamole and the fresh jalapenos, there was plenty of spice and even more flavor. The steak tasted amazing. The Alma Taco Truck TakeawaysI learned a few things from this little adventure:1. Hunger is nature's greatest spice.2.  Second to that is the talent of chefs - and in this case the Alma chefs proved that they know how to handle flavor.3.  Food trucks aren't all overpriced-seatingless-overhyped-overspecialty-itemed vehicles.       4. Some have tasty, perfectly priced treats.5. If you're ordering 2 zesty tacos from Alma don't share with your roomie or get 2 orders. It's too delicious to just have one! More...

I really wasn't in the mood for tacos until I saw that this food truck was near by. Thanks to Mark's menu pics and food photos I quickly changed my tune and headed over to the business they were outside of. They weren't busy at all by the time I arrived (around 12:45ish) and it was beginning to rain making people run for cover. Not me, I grabbed an umbrella and paraded myself up to the window. I really didn't know what kind to get but I definitely knew it would be tacos. Taking a minute to look over the menu again. I choose 3: "The Asian One" - sesame pork belly, pickled red cabbage, cotija cheese, caramel sauce, cilantro "The Good Manok" - adobo chicken, guacamole, roasted peppers, cilantro, balsamic strawberry glaze "Steak Juanito" - 24 hrs sous vide beef, roasted peppers, avocado, jalapenos, caramel sauceThe lady taking my order was very pleasant and Alejandro was busy preparing my tacos. I might've waited 5 mins or so and my tacos were ready. I bid them farewell and headed back to the office. At first they didn't seem like much but when I started to eat each one I was pretty amazed. The combination of flavors in each taco was amazing. I'm not a fan of cabbage but that pickled cabbage in the Asian One taco...yummo. I didn't even taste like cabbage anymore. That pork belly was delish and cooked just right. The adobo chicken in the Good Manok with the balsamic strawberry glaze was great. They had me at strawberry. The Steak Juanito was awesome as well. I will say that I thought about pulling the jalapenos off but everything else in it cut that fresh hot and spicy taste so it didn't overpower it. Three tacos was just enough for a lunch portion and I was good for the rest of the afternoon. I do hope that they will continue to grow as their menu is innovative and their prices are reasonable. Much success to them in the future! I will be back! More...
