The food is absolutely delicious. Everything we tried was spot on. But to comparable restaurants their prices are a little indulgent.

First time diner at Alma. The best selection of fine rums hands down I have seen anywhere. The arepas were huge and a meal onto itself, the cassava bread I would have preferred plain and without the heavy seasonings. I grew up eating cassava bread in Guyana where it is a native Amerindian bread and also have seen them make it. Huge cassava breads drying out in the sun. So I know what I speak of. Regardless, I get why they prepare it the way they do at Alma. We had the chicken (La Caraqueno) which was delicious and the Cochinillo (pulled pork) which while delicious was a bit too salty for my palate. I felt the saltiness really took away from the underlying flavour profile, but again I would recommend. I look forward to dining there again. More...

This place is awesome!!! I had the wings which were very nice, and a very sweet and tangy red sangria. The best part of the meal were the delicious homemade KitKat like candies that are served after the meal. Shout out to my sweet waitress Angie who took very good care of me and my friend, and offered endless options of what we could have from the menu! Will deff be coming back again More...

My partner and I always go to Alma for special occasions and we were sadly confused on Valentine's Day. We had made a reservation 2 weeks before and when we showed up at 5:20 no one answered the door. When we checked the time Alma opened it said 5:00. There were people milling around on the inside but no one came to the door. We ended up going to Mama's on the Half Shell and had a fabulous dinner. I'm not sure what the problem was but it left a bad taste in my mouth. Love the food but not the disorganized managers. Hopefully we will be back but for now I'll go to Mama's on the Half Shell. Incredible food with some very creative entrees and appetizers. They feature live solo guitar music on Thursday during happy hour which is fantastic! The craft cocktails are first-rate. They really should get best of Baltimore for chicken wings and the wagyu burger. The wings are high quality meat buried in this incredible sauce and the burger is extraordinary on ciabatta, served with sweet potato fries. They usually have a great vegetarian entree too. The latest one is stacked polenta with all kinds of deliciousness going on. They also have non-alcoholic drinks that are really tasty like a jalapeno lime concoction that the bartender makes to order. More...

Food was incredible. The menu had the potential to be overwhelming and pretentious. However, when you take a minute to read the description and the kind and patient servers (we had Megan. ..awesome), it’s all broken down to the basics. Every dish was well balanced in flavor. Our absolute favorites were the tuna and salmon crudo and the short rib entree. With that being said, we tried many dishes...impressed by all. Service of course is a key factor. From the call in reservation with the hostess, walking in the door, our kind server Megan and every expeditor that dropped our courses, you made our experience incredible! Thank you. More...

Truly spectacular. I was skeptical and didn't expect much as the wife brought me in but my, was I wrong. The initial impression was good; excellent drink service and whimsical appetizers. The sangria is enjoyable. But none of that is what got me. Arepa shell texture. Those three words are what captured me. I like to think I'm experienced with food and know it all, but tonight I was mistaken. These succulent corn shells have attained crunchy, soft, dense, and then somehow repeated on their other side. The fillings were what we expect; delicious. Just come here and order the arepas. Don't fucking share. More...

Our friends took us to Alma on Monday evening for our farewell dinner. From the moment we walked in the door we knew it was going to be amazing. Our server & mixologist Alex was so inviting and engaging. His cocktails were exquisite and he took the time to educate us on the ingredients he used to prepare them. The manager Chris who was expediting that evening greeted us with a smile and explained each one of our dishes as he brought them out. All of our food was expertly prepared! We shared arepitas, polenta Alma, several of us had the pato cacao, and the others had the steak and the tuna. But what surprised all of us were the desserts! My husband is a pastry chef and he is very particular about dessert. He was blown away by not only the taste and quality of the dishes but the beautiful platings. We all shared the churro, the cacao 7, and the flan. I could go on and on, but needless to say, the evening was amazing and exceeded all our expectations. The impeccable service paired with the magnificent food was unparalleled. I would highly recommend Alma to anyone looking for a new dining experience in Baltimore! More...

I have been living in Howard Cty Maryland for the past 4 years and I have been to many restaurants in the Baltimore area. This Venezuelan gem of a restaurant is nothing short of AMAZING !!! The ambiance, decor, and open style kitchen made my dining experience a memorable one!! The fusion of flavors and spices were very satisfying to my palate. Each dish had multiple bursts of flavors it was hard to settle on which one was my favorite. I had the Alma Pepeada from the Arepa Bar and it was so delicious!! For my entree I decided on Mando can B&W with slow cooked black bean, Oaxaca cheese (amazing) tomatoes, cilantro, guasacaca, avocado, and Alma sauce. They have a vegetarian, meat, and seafood section! One can't go wrong with this restaurant, there is something for every palate. I will be back!! More...

For entree we got the "Cubanito Especial" and at first I couldn't believe I was actually goig to pay $30.00 for a Cuban sandwhich but I must say it is worth every single dollar. It was amazing. The ambiance was excellent. This place is a little bit on the expensive side but everything was on point and I fully recommend it. I do not know where to begin, but I will try. I got the Nacional Arepa. Good Lord it was devine. The beef was tender, suculant, amd shredded to perfecton. The sweet plantain inside was tart, sweet, and soft. The seasoning was mild and spicy...yes both...it was literally perfect. The yucca fries.....crisp but not burnt and perfectly crunchy with bursts of soft mashedpotato like yucca inside not bitter at all. The sauces on top were a perfect meld of sweet, spicy, and citrus bite. But then, I was given the most miraculous and amazing dish of my life. The ravioli chucho. It was like an art piece on a plate. I did not want to eat it....I wanted to frame it. The plate was smeared with ink, topped woth the lightest creamiest ravioli sauce you could ever imagine. The sweet plaintain ravioli....no too tart, not too sweet, tender, soft, and held the fluffy cheese perfectly...ontop dehydrated salad added a zesty leafy organic taste. OMG it was everything you could ever want on one plate....God could have taken me home....I would have left happy...but the night was not over.... A churro....but not just any churro. A homemade masterpiece perfectly rolled in sugar filled woth light fluffy cream, draped in warm dark and milk chocolates paored with the bitter yet delectable taste of flan ice cream. Heaven in a desert. And the GM walked us through every step, origin of the dish, what was best, what flavors to look for....out of this world culinary are with a true visionary to help us enjoy. I have eaten at many many great places....... This....was by far and large... The. Best. Food. Ever. More...
