The food is absolutely delicious. Everything we tried was spot on. But to comparable restaurants their prices are a little indulgent.
The food, drinks, wine selection and staff are all fantastic. I will be back. ❤️❤️❤️
First time diner at Alma. The best selection of fine rums hands down I have seen anywhere. The arepas were huge and a meal onto itself, the cassava bread I would have preferred plain and without the heavy seasonings. I grew up eating cassava bread in Guyana where it is a native Amerindian bread and also have seen them make it. Huge cassava breads drying out in the sun. So I know what I speak of. Regardless, I get why they prepare it the way they do at Alma. We had the chicken (La Caraqueno) which was delicious and the Cochinillo (pulled pork) which while delicious was a bit too salty for my palate. I felt the saltiness really took away from the underlying flavour profile, but again I would recommend. I look forward to dining there again. More...
This place is awesome!!! I had the wings which were very nice, and a very sweet and tangy red sangria. The best part of the meal were the delicious homemade KitKat like candies that are served after the meal. Shout out to my sweet waitress Angie who took very good care of me and my friend, and offered endless options of what we could have from the menu! Will deff be coming back again More...

My partner and I always go to Alma for special occasions and we were sadly confused on Valentine's Day. We had made a reservation 2 weeks before and when we showed up at 5:20 no one answered the door. When we checked the time Alma opened it said 5:00. There were people milling around on the inside but no one came to the door. We ended up going to Mama's on the Half Shell and had a fabulous dinner. I'm not sure what the problem was but it left a bad taste in my mouth. Love the food but not the disorganized managers. Hopefully we will be back but for now I'll go to Mama's on the Half Shell. Incredible food with some very creative entrees and appetizers. They feature live solo guitar music on Thursday during happy hour which is fantastic! The craft cocktails are first-rate. They really should get best of Baltimore for chicken wings and the wagyu burger. The wings are high quality meat buried in this incredible sauce and the burger is extraordinary on ciabatta, served with sweet potato fries. They usually have a great vegetarian entree too. The latest one is stacked polenta with all kinds of deliciousness going on. They also have non-alcoholic drinks that are really tasty like a jalapeno lime concoction that the bartender makes to order. More...

Wonderful food, perfect service- very attentive to food allergies. Couldn't be happier. Worth the drive from DC!
I love this place. The food, the atmosphere, everything. Can’t wait to go back whenever they’re offering the Cuban Sandwich again. Best Cuban I’ve ever had.

The menu is so unique and delicious! The desserts are amazing.
Even having traveled abroad, this is the best food I've had in my life!
Had a taste of the menu last night and dear god it was magnificent! Thank you
Amazing food everything we had was delicious & great ambiance !
Excellent cocktails and the food was even better. Megan, our server, was charming, informative, and very gracious. Highly recommended.
The food is amazing and the staff really know what they are doing! Great place to eat and drink.
Amazing food! very creative dishes!
The seafood empanada was very tasty; the arepa with cochinillo was a meal by itself; don't miss the pollo frito, breast of chicken sous vide and finished in the deep fryer was perfectly moist and the jalapeno-maple glaze was sublime.

I just visited Alma last night for the first time and loved it! It is a really cute space, very friendly staff and super yummy food. Everything we tried was excellent. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a new, fun place to eat. There were families, couples on dates, lots of happy people enjoying themselves there! More...

Food was incredible. The menu had the potential to be overwhelming and pretentious. However, when you take a minute to read the description and the kind and patient servers (we had Megan. ..awesome), it’s all broken down to the basics. Every dish was well balanced in flavor. Our absolute favorites were the tuna and salmon crudo and the short rib entree. With that being said, we tried many dishes...impressed by all. Service of course is a key factor. From the call in reservation with the hostess, walking in the door, our kind server Megan and every expeditor that dropped our courses, you made our experience incredible! Thank you. More...
A little hard to find, but definitely worth the effort. The food and drinks were so good, I wish I was hungrier. The owners were super sweet and checked in on us multiple times just to chat. Can’t wait to go on a Tuesday for rum & arepa pairing! More...

Excellent food! Beautiful decor! And wonderful hosts!
Truly spectacular. I was skeptical and didn't expect much as the wife brought me in but my, was I wrong. The initial impression was good; excellent drink service and whimsical appetizers. The sangria is enjoyable. But none of that is what got me. Arepa shell texture. Those three words are what captured me. I like to think I'm experienced with food and know it all, but tonight I was mistaken. These succulent corn shells have attained crunchy, soft, dense, and then somehow repeated on their other side. The fillings were what we expect; delicious. Just come here and order the arepas. Don't fucking share. More...
Delicious! We had the tostones, arepa cracker, and two arepas. It was all amazing! This place does not disappoint!
Sexy vibe, food is outrageously delicious, unusual, and creative. EPIC service from William of Austin Wednesday night. Made for a totally enjoyable wonderful evening. Highly recommend Alma in Canton.
Our friends took us to Alma on Monday evening for our farewell dinner. From the moment we walked in the door we knew it was going to be amazing. Our server & mixologist Alex was so inviting and engaging. His cocktails were exquisite and he took the time to educate us on the ingredients he used to prepare them. The manager Chris who was expediting that evening greeted us with a smile and explained each one of our dishes as he brought them out. All of our food was expertly prepared! We shared arepitas, polenta Alma, several of us had the pato cacao, and the others had the steak and the tuna. But what surprised all of us were the desserts! My husband is a pastry chef and he is very particular about dessert. He was blown away by not only the taste and quality of the dishes but the beautiful platings. We all shared the churro, the cacao 7, and the flan. I could go on and on, but needless to say, the evening was amazing and exceeded all our expectations. The impeccable service paired with the magnificent food was unparalleled. I would highly recommend Alma to anyone looking for a new dining experience in Baltimore! More...

Excellent Food, Cocktails and Service. Top notch all the way. Thanks for a great experience

Easily one of the best restaurants in Baltimore. Alma is the real deal.

Whole roasted pork was AMAZING! Arepas, ceviche and slow roasted black beans were full of flavor. Will definitely go back!!!
Fabulous food, great service, wonderful atmosphere.
I have been living in Howard Cty Maryland for the past 4 years and I have been to many restaurants in the Baltimore area. This Venezuelan gem of a restaurant is nothing short of AMAZING !!! The ambiance, decor, and open style kitchen made my dining experience a memorable one!! The fusion of flavors and spices were very satisfying to my palate. Each dish had multiple bursts of flavors it was hard to settle on which one was my favorite. I had the Alma Pepeada from the Arepa Bar and it was so delicious!! For my entree I decided on Mando can B&W with slow cooked black bean, Oaxaca cheese (amazing) tomatoes, cilantro, guasacaca, avocado, and Alma sauce. They have a vegetarian, meat, and seafood section! One can't go wrong with this restaurant, there is something for every palate. I will be back!! More...
The cocktails here are great! The food was fantastic as well. I got the "Crema de Calabaza" which is Pumpkin Soup and is hands down one of the bests I have ever tasted. For entree we got the "Cubanito Especial" and at first I couldn't believe I was actually goig to pay $30.00 for a Cuban sandwhich but I must say it is worth every single dollar. It was amazing. The ambiance was excellent. This place is a little bit on the expensive side but everything was on point and I fully recommend it. Irena(the owner) is such a lovely lady, she took great care of us and was super attentive even though the place was packed! More...
Great food, wonderful service and fantastic atmosphere! Highly recommend it!
I do not know where to begin, but I will try. I got the Nacional Arepa. Good Lord it was devine. The beef was tender, suculant, amd shredded to perfecton. The sweet plantain inside was tart, sweet, and soft. The seasoning was mild and spicy...yes both...it was literally perfect. The yucca fries.....crisp but not burnt and perfectly crunchy with bursts of soft mashedpotato like yucca inside not bitter at all. The sauces on top were a perfect meld of sweet, spicy, and citrus bite. But then, I was given the most miraculous and amazing dish of my life. The ravioli chucho. It was like an art piece on a plate. I did not want to eat it....I wanted to frame it. The plate was smeared with ink, topped woth the lightest creamiest ravioli sauce you could ever imagine. The sweet plaintain ravioli....no too tart, not too sweet, tender, soft, and held the fluffy cheese perfectly...ontop dehydrated salad added a zesty leafy organic taste. OMG it was everything you could ever want on one plate....God could have taken me home....I would have left happy...but the night was not over.... A churro....but not just any churro. A homemade masterpiece perfectly rolled in sugar filled woth light fluffy cream, draped in warm dark and milk chocolates paored with the bitter yet delectable taste of flan ice cream. Heaven in a desert. And the GM walked us through every step, origin of the dish, what was best, what flavors to look for....out of this world culinary are with a true visionary to help us enjoy. I have eaten at many many great places....... This....was by far and large... The. Best. Food. Ever. More...
Outstanding! The bison tongue, skate ravioli, sushi grade seared tuna, and desserts were fantastic. Great decor and wines. Will come back.

Excellent atmosphere, drinks, food, and service on our visit there. The ceviche was heavenly. We did not try the arepas, but plan to when we go back.
Loved the food and restaurant. The only complaint is the chairs: metal frames with no cushions. Not very comfortable. Sat on my scarf, my wife sat on her coat.
Me encantó éste lugar, tan lejos, pero tan cerca de mi patria... Lo recomiendo, excelente fusión de la comida venezolana con americana..
Cozy, welcoming & warm. A true gem in Canton. Can't recommend this place enough. Must Try!
The food is phenomenal! Nice ambience and wonderful servers. A must try

An amazing culinary experience. Honestly everything was simply amazing and very filling. The black & white arepas is a must try. And the owner was absolutely wonderful. Can't speak highly enough of this place. If there was one thing I'd change, it would be more alcohol in the cocktails. More...

I absolutely love me some Alma! The relax environment and the amazing food keeps bringing me back
This have been the best arepa ever, by the way I am Venezuelan, I know perfectly about this food and I had no idea how good could it be. I suggest this restaurant 200%. The server was great also, it was a very good experience. More...
My friend and I went to Alma Cocina Latina for dinner last night. We both are foodies and had high expectations, based on online reviews. We gave this restaurant 5 stars for the ambience, decor and originality of the dishes. 5 stars for our drinks, which were sparkling sangria and guava mojito. We gave it 3 stars for the desserts: both of us were very disappointed with our selections. Tres Leches had an offensive amount of the wrong kind of cinnamon (cassia) on it and the milk mixture used for soaking the cake was completely lacking creaminess and richness of the traditional recipe. I would suggest removing the cinnamon altogether and replacing it with just a touch vanilla beans. Flan tasted ok, but my mouth was begging for a smoother, softer texture. Caramel and caramel whipped cream used for the garnish were perfect. All in all it was a pleasant experience, but not a perfection for the price. More...
I cannot speak highly enough of Alma Cocina Latina. Not only is their food so freakin delicious, but their staff is top notch too. Our waiter, a fellow Venezolano (Roberto), made us feel like family. He laughed and joked with my husband about their shared home and I left there feeling like we were great friends. The owner, also from Venezuela, remembered Alvaro from our last visit. She was so warm and again, made us feel like family. I know my husband misses his home and his family (and the food!) more than anything, but here for these few hours I think he feels like he is back there. Priceless. P.S. their drink menu is on point. More...
Amazing food and service!! Our server Dayana recommended the dishes that were all on point. This is a must try!!!
Run, don't walk to this incredible and insanely delicious restaurant. Food and service were spot on! We tried arepas, tuna tartar, and the de la lengua a la cola (a melange of duck liver terrine, confit thighs, duck prosciutto, and crispy duck tongue). Every bite was better than the last. Highly recommend! More...
The owners couldn't be more lovely and accommodating. Food and drinks are delicious!

I went there for brunch and had a great time. The atmosphere is casual and elegant. They have an arepa bar and the churros are awesome!

I had my first dinner here last night. We were encouraged to let the Chef orchestrate the menu as my Nephew is a personal friend. What followed was amazing. From the ceviche [my first ever] to the deserts, I was awestruck. That I could have died without ever enjoying this meal seems so unfair. By the way the décor, ambience and service was handsome, relaxed and flawless. This is a great jewel in the crown of Baltimore Dining! More...
Excellent venue for the pan de jamon event, even if we drove 2 hours from Manassas, Virginia. Gracias!
Comida latina con sabor Venezolano, muy buena atención y excelente ambiente
Excellent place! Loved the food and the environment!
From the moment my friend and I walked in the door and saw the full house, I knew this place finally filled a void in this cursed location. We were greeted right away and seated in under a minute outside on the very relaxed patio area. Our server, Ahdaya, was so knowledgeable and friendly. She described every food item to utmost detail and helped us make a great decision. The ceviche was very refreshing on a hot evening for our appetizer. We each had two Arepas, the asado negro and the Luis Brito's pig. Both were delicious and full of flavor. Our cocktails were fresh and delightful. Thank you for a wonderful experience. Canton is blessed to have you here! More...
My boyfriend and I found this place while on a stroll in Canton last night. Let me start off by saying that when we walked in, we got a few stares and the server assumed that we knew nothing about the cuisine, but thoughout our time they began to warm up. The arepas were AMAZING and so was my blanco sangria! The owner came out and spoke to us, which I thought was a very nice gesture. I would definitely go back again! More...
Exceptional!!! Everything was amazing and delicious! ~especially the green cilantro sauce and the smoked duck breast special! ....and the margaritas.
We went to Alma for the first time tonight for a birthday dinner. The atmosphere was casual chic, the service was perfection (thank you Adhya), the food was superb, and the music was amazing. Go there on a date or go with friends, you can't go wrong. We absolutely recommend it and already talking about going back soon =) More...

Few Words...Simply Amazing! Irena and Husband have something special here. Kudos to the Bartenders as well!
Top-notch across the board. Everything is impeccable.
Excelllent food. So happy to be able to have a good arepa. Great service and such friendly and nice people!
The food and drinks were fantastic! John the bartender was awesome. Met the owners and they couldn't have been nicer!!!!
Really fresh, fun food! Great atmosphere and friendly service.

I think this is a great concept of the Venezuelan traditional food using a more gourmet type of approach. I will give my 5 stars probably in a few weeks as I try more of their food and have them get more acquainted and comfortable with their whole operations. Proud of fellow Venezuelans to be leading this. Great job! Recommended, great cocktails too! More...
