IT735U3 portable e-SATA/USB 3.0 External 3.5 inch Hard Drive Enclosure for 3.5" SATA HDD USB3My PC failed and I wanted to copy any useful folders and files in case Windows XP had to be re-installed. I already have 2 Allcam IDE enclosures which I bought about 2012 and have given excellent results. I needed a SATA drive enclosure so it seemed logical to purchase the Allcam version.I fitted the SATA hard drive into the enclosure, connected the Allcam power and USB cables, and started up my XP laptop. I then pressed the enclosure power button, the LED illuminated confirming the power was ON, and I could hear the drive running. The laptop recognised the SATA enclosure straight away and registered it as a new E-drive. I was able to copy a folder from “C” with about 30 small files and some Word documents from My Documents.When I re-connected laptop and the SATA enclosure in the same way, to continue where I left off. This time, the external drive was not recognised, with no sign of activity. I tried connecting the USB cable AFTER the enclosure was powered up and running, It worked this way and Allcam Support confirmed that this is the way it should be used:1. Turn on your computer and allow the system to boot completely to the desktop.2. Plug in the power to the external hard drive and let it spin up.3. Connect the data cable to the drive first and then to the computer.This very neat unit is easy to assemble without any tools and now works first time, every time. I have now backed up 3400 files in 255 folders on to my laptop,all ready for re-instating the PC again. More...

I bought a projector stand through Amazon. I chose it because it was reasonably priced but had the capacity to take the projector at a sensible height - between 120cm and 170cm above the floor. The stand arrived quickly, was well made, solid and had two shelves, one for a laptop and another on top for the projector. In assembling it I lost one of the nuts - it rolled under a freezer too heavy to move. A phone call to Allcam led to three new locking nuts being sent. I am as impressed by their service as by the item. the only slight improvement in the latter would be if the laptop tray was capable of being folded or easily removed for transport but the service I received and the overall quality of the stand outweighs that and leads to 5 stars.
