Stayed here for 4 days and I am a fan of this hotel! Was lucky enough to get early check-in on the first day. The overall room size we got was a bit tight, but you don't go to NY to stay in the room. The room was clean and everything was functional. The view was from a small window but oversaw the city, so that's always a plus. The entrance of the hotel was not in a crowded area and seems to be a prime location for all other activities (late-night shake shack runs were very easy to make). The staff was very accommodating and friendly, which is always a plus!! More...

Great location for the theater district.  Very clean, comfortable, and accommodating.  The restaurant/bar on the 40th floor has spectacular views of the city.  Will definitely return.

This was our first time at Aliz hotel and I must say it was a GREAT experience and I am not stretching the truth when I say this. Before coming to this hotel I did a very deep search of reviews and I even went to the extent of going on their Instagram page and finding real people who actually stayed here and I even wrote them to ask how was their stay! They all said it was beautiful. I advise, don't let the reviews of them downgrading things like  valet parking and how they over charge on their food and how the elevator is slow fool you from the fact that this is a great hotel!.. I read a lot of people complaining about simple things like how small the rooms are but when we arrived it was just enough us and besides we were barely there so I don't know why people complain. I mean this hotel is easy access to every single thing:train subways, food, and much much more like they even have a cool rooftop of you are obsessed with taking photos like I am. FYI:That liquor store people in the reviews were complaining about next door to hotel called athen liquor is now "closed down". The homeless people begging are all over New York so I don't know why the people in the reviews stressed the loitering word. Take my word for it... my husband is from a rich home and he even loved it. We stayed 5nights for $704 More...

Almost a 5 out of 5. Our group of seven had three rooms and everyone was happy. We were glad we didn't all try to cram into two rooms. They're typical NYC mini-size rooms but two adults can still move around pretty well in one.  The mom who shared her room with her two teenagers said it was too tight for them, and she was the least picky person in our group. The beds are very comfortable and clean.  The room overall was amazingly clean.  My husband liked the laminated room floors. Says he felt they were cleaner than typical hotel carpeting. I marveled at the ultra-new and modern clever furnishings.  You really have to take some time exploring your room and bath to appreciate all of the thoughtful details. They have made excellent use of the space.  I also loved the BIG shower with two shower heads, one of which could be taken out of its holder. Not many hotels have those. My son thought the fully customizable lighting was super cool.  Everyone loved the pull-down black out shades.  We all slept great. My daughter liked her view.  TIP: Request a room on the back side of the hotel or on a top floor. There is a bus station across the street from the hotel.  It's very quiet but not visually pleasing. The restaurant in this hotel is amazing!  And I'm very picky about restaurants.  Fantastic food and service.  Lovely casual ambience.  I was surprised it wasn't crowded and I was always able to get a seat.  I think it was because their sign out front is so small. It's easy to miss the fact there is a great restaurant inside the hotel. What was missing; In-room microwave (but not sure if there is room for one). More than one front desk clerk. This is the only thing that really peeved me. It was Memorial Day weekend and Fleet Week. Why didn't they have a second person working the front desk -- at the very least during peak check in and out times?  The line was always long.  It took 30 minutes to check in the first day and 15 minutes to get an extra room key the second day. Also, the hotel is in a sketchy area.  Homeless people sleeping on the sidewalk a few feet from the entrance.  A night club a few hundred feet the other way that attracts some interesting characters.  A fight broke out across from the club one night, we took our kids back into the lobby, and the police were called.  I am a former New Yorker so I wasn't too bothered by all this and felt relatively safe.  It is the Times Square area of Manhattan so it would be unrealistic to not see these things.  But someone less desensitized could be upset. We loved it because it was so close to Times Square and the Theatre District.  It was quiet, too, for being so close to so much activity.Overall, we were happy and would stay at the Aliz again if they added a desk clerk during peak hours.  They can't do anything about their location but they they are doing nearly everything right on the inside. Beautiful fairly new hotel located in Times Square on 40th Street. Small boutique hotel, competitive pricing.......The rooms were beautiful! We had great views of the city from our room. Barn door to close the bathroom. I hate elevators but this one took us to the 36th floor pretty quickly and quietly. Your ears pop, but that happens with that elevation. Farm to a Burger restaurant on the lobby floor. Dear Irving rooftop bar on the 40th and 41st floor. Amazing views! Friendly welcoming staff everywhere! More...

So i stayed her for a night to celebrate my sisters birthday. It was convenient and accessible. What stood out to me was that they had pretty competitive parking pricing, Had I not had a car, who knows. Anyway, I arrived early, They were GREAT with the valet and holding our stuff until check in. We tried to check in early but rooms were still filled.. WE returned about 30 minutes after check in to find out that our room wasnt ready because someone hadnt left the room we were supposed to be in or something. We were asked to return in about an hour. That didnt work for me. I explained that we had plans and that that would be too much of an inconvenience. Shortly after, another employee stepped in and gave us another room. Perfect.Just like a lot of other rooms in NYC, they are small for the amount you pay but it worked! We had a great view (we opted for the higher level rooms). Rooms are nice, dont bring top much stuff...I feel like we had a smooth stay, We weren't there for too long so pretty in and out. Per usual there's hella fees that you pay in NYC that you don't pay elsewhere so be prepared for that. Staff was niceI also like that they hold your bag when you have to check out as well but arent leaving immediately. So thats great.Uhmm, parking. I think we got there around 1/2pm and checked out 11 but picked our up around 1? and parking ended up being like 75 dollars plus $6.66 of tax so make sure you budget for that if you bring a car..Overall we had a great stay, Its super close to Times Square and just about any and everything else! Very nice new hotel. Rooms are a little small, but very nice. The rooftop bar has a spectacular view of the city. The drinks are pricey, but it's worth having one just for the ambiance and view. Peleton studio downstairs, and the staff was all very friendly. The location is great, esp if you're attending a trade show. More...

For my last minute trip to NYC before New Year's Eve, I came across this hotel. Immediately upon arriving I was blown away at how courteous and accommodating the hotel staff was. I had arrived 8 hours prior to check in, and although my room was not ready, I was able to leave my luggage in storage and they offered to text me when it would be ready. This allowed me to head around town, grab breakfast and get things done without having to worry about my luggage. The staff reached out to me 2 hours prior to the check in time and informed me that our room was ready! It was, without a doubt, a surprise and delight moment in which they also offered to bring our luggage to our room. The rooftop lounge had a stunning view of the city, and the servers were also pleasant. Joseph served us two nights, and his customer service was exceptional alongside his suggestions. The lounge is only open from 4-11, and when we asked, they mentioned that it was because it was still relatively new. This worked out for us because it wasn't crowded or overly busy. The room was slightly tight, but it was comfortable, had a great view and did had everything we needed. The Aliz is a hotel that I will continue to stay at in my many upcoming trips back to New York City, and is one I will suggest to family and friends wishing to visit. It is a reasonable distance from the shows on Broadway, Times Square, Hell's Kitchen and many amazing $1 slice pizza places for those late-night adventure seekers! More...

We stayed here in late November/early December. We booked months before via Hotels.com and received a confirmation. Because the hotel was new, they had trouble locating our reservation. They apologized and found it promptly and even gave us a free glass of wine while we waited. Lobby and rooms are so adorable! Overall a great experience and good location. Was disappointed that the rooftop bar wasn't open, but I guess we will have to return to see it finished! More...

The Aliz is a newly renovated hotel. I stayed for three nights, in a king room. The room was modern and brand new. The bed was pretty comfortable, though not "luxury" class, but still very nice. The room was small, but very functional. There were plenty of standard and USB power ports, and the heat and AC worked well. Overall, a modern and comfortable hotel steps from Times Square.  I'd definitely come back, if I was looking for a hotel in this part of town!  Beware of the "ultra high-speed" Internet. 5mbps...pretty lousy, but good enough unless you're streaming a lot. The Aliz hotel was amazing. From the beautiful decor when you walk in to the super friendly staff who were more than willing to answer any question you had. Check in was very fast. The room was beautiful from the sleeping area to the bathroom. The windows in the room were nice and big so you had a great view of Times Square but with the blackout curtain were able to have a great nights sleep. Lovely brand new hotel. The views are outstanding and the staff was extremely nice. Any kinks that needed to be ironed out were done promptly and with a smile. I especially loved all the technology in the room - USB ports everywhere, cove mood lighting around the bed, heat lamp in the bathroom, and automated temperature control. My favorite thing may have been the bathrobe though - the SOFTEST ever. Plus, the location is phenomenal, near Times Square and Port Authority. The view was jaw-droppingly gorgeous. I'd recommend a high floor with a southern-facing view. More...
