Alison’s nutritional analysis, advice and coaching has been transformative for my wife and I. It is one of the best investments I have made. The change in health and energy, as well as clothing sizes! have been quite amazing. I highly recommend Alison Wells to everyone.
I came to Alison when I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis and had elevated levels of SIBO. I was in a very bad shape and none of the doctors medications were helping me at all.
Her consultations taught me interesting things about my condition and thanks to her continued on-hand, quick responses; guidance as well as thought out and structured plan, she has allowed me to tackle my illness in a structured, sustainable way with proper nutritional and supplementation advice.
She has also fixed my sleeping problems I faced and it's safe to say I sleep like a baby now! Alison is very supporting and such an incredibly hard worker. She has got me highly motivated about the future and has helped me greatly with my life. I came to Ali with sleeping problems and poor knowledge of what constituted a good diet. Her initial consultation revealed some interesting areas to work on and the nutrition plan and continued support and guidance has allowed me to tackle both sleep and nutrition in a structured, sustainable plan. Alsion is very supportive and works hard to break down the science whilst tailoring her recommendations based on what is actually possible. She has got me very excited about using food as a form of preventative medicine and her creations and recipes are delicious. On my journey to treat my PCOS I discovered Alison Wells. I am 40 and being affected by this syndrome for many years so it was very important for me to get advice from nutritional therapists like her.

Her plan made absolute sense to me. As any other plans, at the beginning is tricky to commence but it makes it easier when you know you are doing it by the hand of an expert like Alison.

Besides her expertise, she is so friendly when consulting her patients and sometimes (from my experience) it seems I was talking more with a friend and psychologist with good knowledge of nutrition.

I first contacted Alison nearly 12 months ago. Having had no success with weight loss despite trying all the usual diets. The difference this time I received a knowledgeable and comprehensive guide to what I should and shouldn’t eat and drink with the benefits and down sides to every type of food from baked beans to zucchini. I found the sessions talking to Alison extremely useful and with her support and help have managed to lose and more importantly not put back on over 8 stone. I've been doing Ali's Metabolic Balance programme, I'm I'm in the first week of phase three. And just to put your mind at ease and to tell you what's happened with me in the last month and a bit or monthish. Phase one and phase two were very straightforward. I was following very specific nutritional plan with weights and measurements for meals and very specific foods, which initially was a little bit daunting but after day three, it was pretty straightforward and easy. Phase three allows you to include a treat meal once a week which is a bonus. But anyway, the weights and the measurements and specifications are not really the bonus of this nutritional plan. The best thing about this nutritional plan is the amount of energy that I've had in the last month, it's been insane, it's been incredible. I'm not a morning person, but I'm waking up at five o'clock in the morning, being able to do an hour's worth of exercise in the morning before going to work at half past a six / seven in the morning to teach a full day and coming home and being able to go for an afternoon walk, play with my partner's kid, and get a really good night's sleep.

I've lost seven kilos, it's fallen off me I haven't really even tried that hard it's still falling off me. I'm not hungry at all during the five-hour stages in between the meals, it's exceptionally weird because normally I'm a snacker.

The water makes me feel so much better. I've been told I look better and that I look younger. I fit into trousers that I haven't fitted into for quite a while. But, I think the most important thing for me is the energy and how good my body feels my digestive system is so much better my sleep is so much better I don't have any headaches, my skin has cleared up this honestly this is probably the best I've ever been on a diet. Diet is the wrong word nutritional change lifestyle change that I've done in my life, the change has been extraordinary and for the better.

I would recommend this to anybody. Honestly, it has been a phenomenal change for me, huge, you've made a mistake not to do this, just for the benefits of health and your personal lifestyle and all of that it's, it's extraordinary.

So, thank you to Ali, she's an amazing and amazing coach, honestly, any questions that I have had have been answered, the support the video conference calls, all of those things have been hugely beneficial and I'm clear on everything that I do absolutely everything.

I'm feeling so energised that I'm even running a 10km run tomorrow, which I haven't done more than a year I'm super super stoked with my progress. It hasn't been nearly as difficult as what I thought it would be. In fact, it's been really really easy. But like I said, the most beneficial thing for me has been the energy levels.

I contacted Alison back in February 2020.

Having been back and forth to my GP, having blood tests to find out why I was suffering from bloating, nausea, brain fog and many other symptoms, I was diagnosed with IBS.

I understood that I maybe suffering from this but I couldn’t understand all the symptoms I was getting along side it. After many googling sessions, I came across Alison. At this point I thought, what have I to lose!! I was fed up with feeling like this and realised, it was not normal and it was severely impacting on my work life (which is a very active job).

I phoned Alison to find out a bit more about her and she was very informative in giving me all the details I needed to proceed to find out what was wrong. There was no pressure and was just a lovely informal chat.

I had three sessions booked in with Alison, the first one was to learn all about my history, lifestyle and possible triggers of what was going on so she could formulate a plan and order the relevant tests for me.

The second appointment I had was when I was half way through my supplements which she had carefully picked out that I needed which was concluded in my urine and stool test and the third being a follow up as to how I had been doing since all the changes I had made.

I cannot tell you enough how informative and knowledgeable I found Alison, she explained everything in ‘easy to understand terms’ and didn’t give me goals that were truly impossible with my work and lifestyle.

Two month’s down the line and I feel like a different person, I am eating the right foods to fuel my work, therefore not feeling hungry, sick and dizzy 10 mins after eating. My bloating has considerably reduced and I can now manage it as I know what foods are triggers.

I feel a lot calmer and healthier since being on my supplements and other changes Alison made to my diet have dramatically changed how I function which to be honest, it was getting to the point that I couldn’t!

I cannot recommend Alison enough and if you are contemplating whether to or not then do it, it is one of the best things I have ever done and for that, I cannot thank her enough.

Throughout the years, I’ve tried to cut food out, take supplements, change my diet a million times. Analysing and trying to understand why I was feeling the way I did each time I was eating… without successful answers. I developed constant stress about my condition which deteriorated my relationship with food. Right after the first meeting I had with Alison, I could already feel better: knowing that I wasn’t the only one feeling like this, that she understood my condition, that she was asking questions to understand the origin of the problem, was listening carefully and knew exactly what to do. As a busy mum of 3, with a full time job, I have little time to focus on myself. I got in contact with Alison in September last year, wanting to feel more energetic and healthier and hopefully slim down a bit. She was extremely flexible in her approach - not only was it great to be able to meet over video at a time that suited both of us, but she was able to give me options for quick and easy meals, and for buying food during the working day. Her energy and motivation definitely made me more willing to challenge myself and gave me a boost when I was half way there and ready to throw in the towel. I can wholeheartedly say that Alison Wells has given me the tools and guidance to change my life.

When I first reached out I was recovering from a Brain tumour, I was fat from the meds, frustrated that I had lost all of my fitness and at a loss with where to go next.

Alison was such a breath of fresh air, she understood that I wanted to find an alternative to drugs and made me feel at ease immediately, confirming that together we would be able to combat a whole host of my issues. As always, she was right!

It hasn’t always been easy but I listened and understood and followed what she said and I can honestly say that the person who emailed Alison 3 months ago is unrecognisable to me on both a physical and mental level. All of the issues that I had raised in the beginning, weight, bloating, heat, sadness and so the list goes on are all improving or gone completely.

On top of all of that she is incredibly knowledgeable, takes the time to understand you as an individual and is just super lovely!

The advice I would give to anyone thinking about whether this is the right step is just do it, sooner rather than later. If I had combined Alison with my treatment from day one I would not have had to go through over a year of suffering. Thank you always Alison, I will forever be in your debt!

I came to Alison, in constant discomfort, unable to exercise, low in mood and lacking confidence. We are now coming to our final appointment after the “Getting Going” package, and I feel like a new person.


She showed me that just by tweaking a few things in my diet and adding some supplements can really change all those aspects. She was very thorough and always made sure I understood the processes, she is very supportive and understanding of issues and makes you feel important and listened to. I am very happy I found Alison to be my nutritionist. So many of my questions regarding correct diet got answered!
We are dealing with 2 problems which in a way are opposite to each other. Alison did create me a great eating plan and also gave so many useful advices. Only after a month I could see the difference, my friends are noticing that I look better. Also, she is very understanding. Knowing that I am going on a holiday she offered me great swaps for my favourite alcohol drinks to make sure I enjoy my time!

I feel great and I would definitely recommend Alison's services. The last thing she would do is to make you not enjoy your journey to the changes. She will always find a great compromise if needed.

I have had the chance to work with Alison on my goal of loosing weight. It has been 7 years since I quit smoking, in which I ended up gaining almost 2 stone and I have never managed to loose any weight since quitting smoking. Alison managed to get me to loose almost a stone within four months. After a very detailed questionnaire that I had to fill in for her we had a consultation session where she explained what she believed I should do in order to achieve my goal. It didn’t feel at all like I sacrificed anything. She managed to educate me and made me understand what I should do or should avoid. It took me sometime to adjust my preferences to more healthy options, which I have done with Alison’s help.

I highly recommend Alison as she shows expertise in the nutritional industry.  I am confident she has the skill set necessary to handle any challenge. She is professional and at the same time her approach is very friendly which gives you the confidence and comfort you need to change your lifestyle and manage your weight. After a mysterious pot bellied bloating kept coming and going, Ali put me on a strict detox for 3 days and then a month of clean eating. I was sceptical at first, however aided by my wife and the excruciating pain my Rheumatoid Arthritis was causing in my joints I decided to give Nutritional Therapy a chance. Alison’s knowledge of the area instantly set me at ease, she helped me understand all the blood tests my GP had run, providing me with a detailed report, helping me to clearly understand what was happening within. Through our sessions and testing Alison figured out the trigger of my RA which she then helped me to rectify. The saying you are what you eat has never been truer, you are quite literally what you eat. Your daily food choices directly effect your mood and wellbeing. Over 2000 years ago Hippocrates is famed for saying "Let food be thy medicine and medicine thy food". If we constantly bombard our bodies with a below par diet, we will eventually be left with a below par body. Your diet is your keep to optimum wellness. Life is not about going from one "diet" to another it's about changing your lifestyle to reflect the goals you wish to achieve.

My job lets me help people, more often than not when people come to see me that have reached the bottom of the barrel, they have seen every specialist that there is followed every "diet" under the sun and still been unable to get to where they want to be.

Getting Going.

Marks the start of great things and includes:

A minimum of four hours pre-inital session research into your symptoms and health concerns.

One initial hour and a half session.

Two, One hour follow up sessions.

A detailed Health Optimisation Plan after each session. This plan covers all the information that we will have discussed in your sessions including; potential tests; supplements and lifestyle changes.

Interpretation of any tests that are potentially ordered.

Liaising with your other health care providers if necessary.

How metabolic balance® works

Delivered over a three month, one-to-one coaching programme, metabolic balance® is not a diet. It is an entirely personalised, all-natural nutritional programme based on your unique bio- chemistry. Because no foods are banned, or the same recipes are given to everyone, it's not technically a 'diet'. Here's what to expect ...

Preparation

We begin with 2 days of gentle cleansing to prepare your body for what's called the strict adjustment phase. Don't worry, it's not as scary as it sounds.

Strict Conversion

In this phase, you spend between 14 and 21 days eating from selected wholesome foods to balance your hormones and enzymes. That's why it's called a conversion. There's no exercise for the first two phases as we need your body to calm down and focus only on its metabolic work.

Relaxed Conversion

With the preparatory phases complete, it's time to relax a little. You stay in what's called a relaxed conversion phase until you get to your ideal weight, and your all important biomarkers return to normal. Here, exercise is re-introduced along with some non-limiting foods, or treats as we say
Maintenance
This is where we drop the 'diet mentality' - for want of a better term - and think new healthy lifestyle. You've done great work to get here. This is where the only things to remember are 8 handy guidelines that will help you stay on track. Here we play with new recipes and experiment with your new way of eating, until you find your flow.
