Alex did catering for our wedding on 6/16/18. We had a headcount of 83 and he worked with us to stay within our budget! He is truly a professional and service was top notch. After problems with our linen rental company I highly suggest you take him up when he offers to let him do the order through Camelot. We had the tritip and chardonnay chicken and served buffet style. The place settings and buffet set up were beautiful! The assortment of cheeses during cocktail hour were a hit because there was none left by the time we had our entrance. Now the food... we did a private tasting meal beforehand that he graciously cooked for us in his home. The buffet's tritip was cooked PERFECT and the marinade was delicious. The chicken was tender and moist (not typical buffet chicken!) and delicious. Our mashed potatoes and green beans were even great!! All of our guests really enjoyed the meal. At cleanup time all was taken care of as promised and no mess.

What I didn't expect from Alex and was pleasantly surprised was how he really went the extra mile during setup and through dinner to make sure the groom and I were taken care of! Top Notch in every way and would HIGHLY recommend!!

Alex's experience in delivering food for large groups of people can be demonstrated by looking at his resume but his skill in coordinating a delicious meal under tight time constraints can only be realized by booking him. When my wife and I began speaking with caterers for our wedding, it was immediately apparent that Alex is attentive to detail, calm, listens, and is flexible.  We did not notice this combination of qualities in other caterers we spoke with. We choose items from a good sized menu and set up a tasting. Alex proved to be warm, welcoming, and his food was delicious! Alex was accommodating with my wife's food allergies during the tasting and assured us that accommodating a special plate for her during the wedding would not be a problem. In the months to follow Alex took no issue with making a few changes we requested. He appeared invested in the experience of our special day by working closely with my mother-in-law, going as far as to mail her napkin samples to fine tune the look of our dining tables. The real test of any catering is whether same food you tasted can be delivered seamlessly during a large event. I was pleased to find that Alex and his staff was efficient, courteous, and the food was amazing! More...

Alex from Alexander's Catering is a true professional. I was a super nervous bride and my own wedding coordinator (with some great help from friends). My now husband I have a long history in food service. In fact my husband wanted to cater the wedding himself! That was not going to happen. My husband met Alex at a Bridal Event earlier this year and was impressed by him immediately. After we met with him together we both knew he was the one we could trust to make our event wonderful. We talked about ourselves and what we were envisioning for our event. He listened intently, and gave us feedback and suggestions it was just easy. We spoke with a local caterer in our area as well as Alex and I felt a little bad about not choosing them. I am 100% convinced we made the right choice. The process after selecting him became a breeze, I am a control freak but I felt confident that Alex would take care of every single detail and he did!  The food was excellent, his team professional and the presentation was impeccable. Thank you Alex making our beautiful day better than we imagined! More...

I deal with caterers all the time- there are a lot of companies out there! Some are people who do it for extra weekend work. Others are restaurants trying to increase revenue through outside catering. The level of customer service and quality of the food is always a chancy thing- it is rare that the food is outstanding while at the same time the level of service exceeds everyone's expectations. The caterers you want for your event are the ones that do both well. One that immediately comes to mind is Alex with Alexander's Catering.First off there is that whirlwind known as Alex :)He consistently goes above and beyond serving his customers before, during and after the event. He picks up his phone at all hours of the day and night whether you call him for the initial contact or if you had an idea at 9pm on a Weds that you want to run by him. He meets the clients at the site months before to go over setup and countless other details to make it everything they have envisioned. He gets to know his clients and his love for his work and satisfaction after a job well done is paramount to him. He knows that this is an important event and even will step in to get things done that have nothing to do with catering. For example, at a wedding on Lake Tahoe once, the bride and groom booked a space for 80 and there were probably 120 guests instead. Not only did he accommodate the extra people food & drink-wise on short notice, but he was a dynamo, rearranging tables and chairs so everyone could fit inside. Huge flower arrangements came from the ceremony and he took the time to place them making sure that everything was just right. The kitchen was so small that he set up a prep area outside and efficiently served a fabulous meal, poured champagne, cut the cake up etc in minimal space with smiles on his and his crew's faces. I was astounded by their efficiency, their great attitudes, and their ability to change their plans as unforeseen problems came up.His crew is a well-trained, experienced bunch who enjoy being able to help take an event to the next level. Their smiles are infectious and their dedication to their work is what I expect at a great established restaurant- not what I usually encounter from catering companies. There are a handful of wedding and event professionals who when I find out they'll be an event I will be at, I give a sigh of relief. Alexander's Catering is one of those elite professionals. I know if Alex is there, the food, drinks and service will be exemplary and that he will go above and beyond (like I do) to ensure that everything goes perfectly.I don't recommend vendors lightly. If they perform poorly or even average, it reflects poorly on me. I heartily recommend Alexander's Catering. More...

It can be a bit scary having a destination wedding and randomly picking a cateror without being able to actually try their food.  After getting some quotes from several caterors and talking with them we decided based on price and friendliness of who to pick.  Alex the owner went above and beyond for our wedding.  We had the reception at a huge vacation rental that was also picked sight unscene.  I am a fly by the seat of my pants kind of person and Alex laughed but told me he's not a surprise kind of person.  He took it upon himself to get a key ahead of time from the house rental company and see the place before the event to make sure our order to camelot rentals was appropriat.  He asked me if he could just determine the table / chair order and fix it for me.  Loved that.  I had wayyyyy to many details and people I was trying to organize so that was a huge relief.  The day of he came in and got right to work with still letting me get ready and be a happy stress free bride.  Dinner time hit ....the moment of truth. Will the food be good or disgusting?!?! !I was so pleasently surprised!  Delish!  I highly recommend the tri-tip, and green beans.  My only downfall was that earlier on we had talked about that I needed 2 vegetarian dishes and coffee bar and they were not there.  I feel like I partly take to blame on that one though because I probably should of followed up that it was actually happening.  My vegetarian friends still had plenty other food options to eat; so it really wasnt a big deal.  Overall - Alex made my day great!!!  He was easy to work with, so pleasent and trustworthy and had deliscious food.  If I ever need a cateror in Lake Tahoe again I would 100% use him and his friendly staff.  Thank you for taking charge and feeding my guests lovely food.  -oh and for the leftovers  :) More...

Q&As

We don't necessarily have any one signature dish. We prepare all types of food. Although after being in business for almost 28 years most clients choose either barbecue or something like a salad choice, tri tip, a chicken dish or salmon with different preparations along with vegetables & starches of there choice. We do not have pre packaged menus. We meet in person or discuss by phone with each client & customize every menu to each clients wishes. No one beats our service or pricing. once we discuss "All" details with our clients we put together a proposal which includes all set up, wait & kitchen staff, food & clean up. some venues require a late night clean up fee. Bartenders are an additional fee if clients provides there own alcohol. All food is prepared on site with our mobile kitchen. We do have all of our own equipment such as china, flatware, most glassware, buffet equipment & table skirting in four colors to choose from all included. Linens are a rental item which we are more than happy to place the order for at no additional fee or client can place or provide on there own. Tables & chairs are also rentals if not provided by the venue.

The most important things are service before & during the event. And after the event is finished that everyone loves our set up, food and service.

I've been in the restaurant & Hotel catering business going on 38 years.

Clients should go through the process of speaking with several different caterers. they should select a caterer that they like along with what they offer. What's included along with the value & service that comes with being a great caterer. At our company we are not trying to get rich with one event. We want the outcome to be one that all of your guests will love. by doing so we hope that guests that attended your event would come to us for one of there own events in the future. I'm not much of a Twitter, Facebook or Yelper. I'm hands on & at your service!
