About

I'm Alex a time served stonemason of 27 years experience. I have travelled the length of Britain, building walls, stone landscaping and restoring buildings of all periods of architecture and purpose;

I've been in dark crypts and high steeples, historical castles, cathedrals and churches. My career is varied, interesting and historically important to our culture and tourist industry.

I have noticed through the years there are many methods and a wide variation of stone to use, each has its specific purpose and each is more suitable than other for its own particular project.
As I worked my way up through Britain; I noticed the stone getting harder, with the south coast being lime and bath stone, a lot of slate and flint in the Midlands, and progressing to sandstone in the north and central Scotland, then at last granite and Clashan Caithness in the Highlands.

I take great pride in my work and I'm fully qualified and insured. If you would like anything from a dry stone dyke, house restoration or even a hard crafted gargoyle to your own specifications; I would be willing to speak to you.
