About

I offer in-depth, holistic psychotherapy and EMDR. Most people come to me for issues largely related to anxiety/stress, depression, relationship challenges, and trauma. However, those I work with also tend to be struggling with difficult life transitions, existential issues, shame, unhealed wounds from childhood, anger, grief, escapism/substance abuse, and codependency.

If you've landed on this page, you can stop your search because you've found a gem.  I've taken good care of my mental health all of my life and Alex is hands down the best therapist I've ever worked with.  My husband and I have been seeing Alex together for a year and a half and his ability to understand our dynamic and make thoughtful, action-oriented observations and suggestions has been so refreshing and helpful.  He's an emotionally intelligent straight-shooter who has been able to connect dots we didn't know needed connecting.  I've always left his office feeling heard and with a clear understandings of what steps to take in order to move the needle on whatever challenge we had discussed.  He's talented and thoughtful -- get in while you can! Alex is great -- smart, empathic, results-oriented, and willing to challenge his clients. I highly recommend him, especially to college students who feel lost/stuck or are turning to substances to cope. OH, and check out his groups -- great offerings! More...

Alex has demonstrated a knowledgeable, sympathetic, and trustworthy approach to therapy and his clients that would make him an invaluable resource for anyone struggling with relationship issues, shame, anger, or other similar challenges. I have no reservations about recommending Alex's counseling to my friends, family, and even to my own clients. More...

Alex understands and explains the difference between Guilt vs. Shame. He goes deep down to help patients remove their barriers to identify the real issues. Then, resolve those issues.

I was dealing with a conflicting situation with a family member. I really wanted to be supportive and usually am, but couldn't figure out how with this guy. I just asked Alex's advice. His advice reminded me I didn't need to Do anything, just Be more accepting, practice compassion, and allow the other person to Be as they were. This freed me up to be with them more comfortably and reminded me I could be that way with myself, as well. I trust Alex with my mind and my heart. If you know someone (or are someone) who needs a second pair of eyes on a situation that helps it be easier to deal with, contact Alex. I feel better because I did. More...

I'm sure I could leave a 5 star review once I've worked with Alex but for now can only say he has all the markings of a first class therapist.  He is a great listener, enthusiastic, caring, empathetic and trustworthy.  Also he is young and energetic and i am certain a good match for young couples, adolescents and young adults.  I would not hesitate to  refer people in those categories to him. A great therapist has to be genuine, empathetic and know how best to give advice in ways that the patient is ready to receive it.  I have gotten to know Alex over the last several months and I believe he has all of these qualities.  I trust that he will be amazing for any patients I refer to him. Alex is truly empathetic, and of course quite knowledgeable. Although I have not worked with him personally, I would not hesitate to recommend him to anybody.

Q&As

I love really getting to know people better than just about anyone else knows them.

Most clients tell me they have benefited from working with my due to my lack of pretension or stuffiness, sense of humor, honesty, and the ability to engage and challenge them versus just sit there and listen.
