We used Alex to help us with ideas and plans for our substantial house renovation, following a terrible experience with a previous architect. Alex and his team have been outstandingly professional from the very beginning. Since my wife & I decided to go ahead with having extensions, I knew that Alex D architects were right for us. We believe that choosing the right architect is just as important as finding the right builder. We had spoken to others prior to our meeting. We are fastidious with whom we choose to do work for us, but Alex has vast amounts of knowledge and experience, and it shows. We very much felt after the 1st meeting that he and his team were the correct choice. We weren’t wrong. All the daunting thoughts we had were erased. He was not cocky or big headed, bullish or arrogant. Like I said we had talked to others prior to meeting Alex. I truly believe his biggest attribute, above all his others, is that he listens to his clients. Yes, he listens, then he advises. To us, that's what is extremely important. His team came around our house to do all measurements, and they too were professional, courteous and hard working. Alex helped us to design a 2-storey side extension for our house in Oxfordshire. He and his team were very helpful and were able to give us a good range of ideas to make the best use of a space that had already been altered, on a very limited budget. His charges were very reasonable compared to competitors, and his work was completed in a timely manner and to a high standard - no issues with planning applications or building regulations.

Alex and his team were also very willing to adapt to minor changes that were needed as a result of the evolving nature of the project and our limited budget. We decided to invite Alex to give us an initial consultation on our two-storey side and rear extension project after being impressed with the reviews his practice had received on Houzz and another review site. We also arranged booked consultation with two other firms. Alex stood head and shoulders above the other firms. He was exactly as described in the reviews my wife and I had previously read. They came up with a really innovative design that will give us loads of additional space and hopefully look very cool too! Alex has drawn up plans for a two story rear extension along with some internal reconfiguration of rooms on my detached house . He has been excellent in liaising with planning throughout and brilliant in dealing and getting around objections from a neighbour . This has certainly added to the time and energy he has had to put into my project but he has never complained and always worked tirelessly to seek a satisfactory solution .

He has suggested some great alternative ideas in the design and is always willing to listen to your suggestions .
