AMAZING food. Great service. The kabseh was tender and the rice was The bameya was amazing My personal favorite was the cheese sticks. Those sticks got devoured quickly. Molokia was delicious   The rice was good The hummus with meat goes well with anything you order. The ultimate favorite though was the mint lemonade.  If anyone needs a refreshing drink with their meal.  Try this out More...

They can improve customer service a bit. The waiter was a bit rude and had an attitude. Everytime we said thank you, he never answered and just walked away. Food tasted good especially the hummus and the mint tea was on point. I just wish they improve their customer service like American places, then I would totally give 5 stars. More...

It was my second or third time visiting Aleppo's kitchen. I love their food!! It's great!! It's a hidden spot but worth the try. They have indoor and outdoor seating. They also have hookah. I had their hummus, sheesh Tawook, combination plate. I love their chicken!!! It was great! I went yesterday and my experience wasn't as great because one of their employees needs some training about customer service. When a customer asks the server to bring spoons. You bring spoons there is no need to make fun of that. If you eat with a spoon then you shouldn't use that same spoon to serve again since more people are using that plate. So when asking a server to bring more spoons there is no need to say " do you want bigger spoons" that's rude and when people say thank you, you don't walk away. That's to their server Mohammed to learn manners when speaking to customers. I spoke to their manager Hani and apologized for the employee's behavior. I appreciate that and will return and hoping for better experience next was time. More...

Not from this area an happened upon this oddly located gem thanks to yelp. We've tried many Mediterranean restaurants from Seattle, Portland and further south in California with both family in Portland and friends in Salem who own Mediterranean restaurants. Aleppo's honestly had some of the best  food we've ever had. We started with the lemon mint drinks and stuffed grape leaves. Just at the appetizer we knew we were in for a great treat. The spices were perfect and the grape leaves were perfectly prepared. My husband ordered the Jordanian Lamb Mansaf and I had the Khash Khash Kebab. Both were amazing but the Mansaf was out of this world good. All of the food came out piping hot, and had the most delicious flavor. The servings were more than generous- my husband still eats like a teenage boy with a hollow leg and we had enough left overs to feed both of us again the next day and still had some left over - next time we would absolutely share the Mansaf. I saw another review about the service- I would like to note that we were visited multiple times and had great conversation with our server who was heavily accented and this culturally "could" be confused with curtness but they definitely were not. I was very impressed with the service and wish we lived closer to patron this magnificent restaurant over and over again. Literally the only thing I wish it had was a wine selection to pair with the food. There wasn't any alcoholic drinks offered so I would assume this has more to do with obtaining a liquor license if anything. We also loved both the outdoor seating area and the inside of the building. Very well done and very very clean.Wine or not, this place is worth a try- I promise you will be back. More...

Good: large quantity of food. Delicious food. I highly recommend the mint lemonade!!! I got the chicken gyro plate. Chicken was well seasoned and not dry. Parking was good.Bad: Service was slow mostly because they appeared under staffed. Hummus was average. The portion of rice is a bit much. Overall the food was good but I feel it was overpriced. I might stop by if I'm in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here again. More...

Really good food & service. They messed up on a substitution of hummus for cucumber yogurt dip and let me keep both. High quality meat. We got the sirloin, beef shawarma, hummus, and cheese borek. Shawarma was so good and didn't have a lot of fat like zankou does. Was nice to not have to pick around fatty meat! No complaints and will definitely return. More...

It was my first time at this restaurant. All and all this restaurant offers great atmosphere and delicious food. Everything is reasonably priced and they have a variety of options. The plates are also well portioned, and they are very kind with providing sauces to spice things up. I had gone in thinking a plate of food would not be enough to fill me up, and I was wrong! Literally a hole-in-the-wall establishment. One of those random & rare finds one would never know existed had it not been for Yelp. My family and I are always looking to eat at Mediterranean places and this one happens to be Syrian, and is so close to our house. It's a shame we didn't know of it before! As you turn into the strip mall parking lot, there's a sign for the restaurant parking "in the back". A HUGE parking lot. We entered the restaurant and were amazed by the outdoor & indoor seating; how elegant and clean it was. We chose to sit inside, our waiter very friendly. We ordered the mint drink (non-alcoholic), the appetizer sampler which had a variety of fried goodies along with hummus & the tabbouleh salad. The appetizer sampler was big enough to be a 2 person meal! We also ordered the chicken kebab which comes with rice. It was so much, we had enough food to take home for another meal. We learned that on Friday nights at 8pm they have live music & that you can order hookah to smoke on the outside patio. We'll definitely be regulars and check it out then! More...

Ventured all the way from West Hollywood to Anaheim for traditional Arab food and Aleppo did not disappoint. Came on a Friday evening around 730pm. Decent crowd to begin with, but as the night carried on the place became totally packed. We sat inside, however if you sat outside you were privy to live entertainment, singing and sheesha. Would love to come sit outside next time and enjoy the party, perfect for all ages. Portions are large and perfect for sharing. We came with a large group, some of the meals were hits and and some were misses. Our favs were the rice and lamb dishes by far, along with the kabob platter. We did not like the fattoush salad (tasted like it was sitting a while, and the lettuce was wilted) and the dessert. We ordered the knafa and kheytif. Both were drenched in rose water, which became way too overpowering. The service was very nice, although sometimes we had to remind them several times for our dishes. Overall, delicious traditional food, and a fun place to bring the family. More...

Feeling nostalgic for a taste of Syria? This place hits the spot. For starters, the whole vibe and ambience is on point. From decor to music, it transports you to Syria. The menu makes me smile, highlighting all signature dishes of home. Things my grandmother and mother make. I’ve been here quite a few times and managed to taste a variety of items off the menu. The Fattoush salad is so authentic and seasoned well with the pomegranate molasses. The Falafel is remarkable, just like the ones from Damascus, which I honestly cannot find anywhere here with that exact flavor. I don’t eat a lot of meat but my family devoured the Kibbe Neyeh. Cheese rolls were delicious but somewhat greasy, which some might not be able to digest as much, for us though, it was perfect. Definitely a family spot as well as a date spot and a friends hangout spot. They also have game night on Thursdays so yay! Tarneeb anyone? More...

Definitely our go to place for mansaf. I always get random cravings for mansaf and this place never disappoints. The lamb is almost always perfectly cooked every time we visit. The meat is so soft and tender it practically melts in your mouth. The lamb itself is perfectly seasoned so you do not need to add the sauce that comes on the side. BUT, the sauce (not sure what it exactly is, think of a creamy yogurt sauce) definitely complements the overall taste of the dish. It is a hefty meal so be sure to not to eat too much appetizers before hand! Speaking of appetizers, the cheese borek, hummus and naan are fantastic! The portions of this place are really meant to share, but it's very hard to considering how delicious everything is. The overall service is also great. We we're constantly asked how everything was and our drinks were always refilled. We did notice that the food and service quality is best during lunch and earlier times. This place is definitely a must if you like mansaf! More...

We got dessert here. It was beyond decadent. Service was so excellent. The guy @ counter talked us through the dizzying options - it was so surreal. Like being in the Willy Wonka's factory of middle eastern sweets. We got a Konafa with cheese inside. He heated it thru for us & we shared a piece. It was gnarly in the very best way. Copious amounts of butter & sugar combined are def euphoria inducing. We were just kinda stunned into silence & questioning our previous existence without this insane dessert. Get it. Get some dark bitter coffee with it. You're welcome ;) More...

The food here is excellent. I had the Shish Tawook and my whole family shared the mixed plate appetizer. Both delicious. Loved the grape leaves, hummus and tabbouli. Shish Tawook was tender and flavorful and garlic toum was addicting. Always worth the breath kicking for a few days. Oh and the cream pudding! So yummy. I probably single handedly ate half of it. Unfortunately, the service could use some improvement. Some members of our party arrived a little bit later and the server didn't take their drink orders and also forget the drinks for the rest of the table until we reminded him. When the dessert came he did not provide any plates so our party could share the dessert.I would probably return because I really liked the food but I hope the service improves. More...

Aleppo's Kitchen is a hidden gem. It's entrance is on the back side of a strip mall, and I almost didn't find it the first time. Well worth the hunt! All menu items are made in the kitchen, from the shish kabobs to the labnah and yogurt drinks. I love all of the vegetarian food - hummus, babaganoush, grape leaves, tabouli, labneh, etc. so fresh and delicious. I generally do not care for stuffed grape leaves because the taste is too tangy for me. Aleppo's, though, are just right. Very tasty. Not too much acid. All of the dishes are a cut above other restaurants. The meat dishes are delicious, too, particularly the kebabs and koftas. As well, the staff members are all welcoming and competent. Pure bliss. I have fortunate enough to be exposed to excellent Arab food in my life due to my Palestinian SO, and from that perspective I will tell you that Aleppo's Kitchen is the peak of Arab dining in California. I have eaten here from Ramadan and for two other occasions and each time I left feeling like royalty due to the thoughtful customer service, personalized dishes, and the atmosphere that allows you to feel somewhere besides Anaheim. The restaurant has that element of home-style cooking that is apparent in each of the dishes. I have had a myriad of things through the buffet so I won't single out a specific dish, but I have been thrilled by everything. If you're into Arab food, I cannot recommend this place enough. More...

Being foodies, the missus and I love trying out new restaurants to simple different cuisines  Inspired by Anthony Bourdain's Parts Unknown,  where decided to be more adventurous in our culinary explorations. Having stumbled onto the Yelp listing for Aleppo's Kitchen a few months ago, we always had this place on To Visit list. And the opportunity presented itself on platter last weekend (literally and figuratively speaking)! As soon as you enter through the doors, the warm welcome from the family that runs the restaurant and the beautiful decor of the outdoor seating area will immediately transport you to another part of the world. What greets you next is a menu with amazing pictures of the food items on offer - like they say, "each picture is worth a thousand drools"!Spoilt for choice, we requested our host to recommend what all we must try. Thanks to his help and pointers, we ended up having the following:Drinks: Lemon mint juice and Ayran yogurt (both were yummy, especially the former) Appetizer: Hummus with warm pita (it was complimentary for checking in on Yelp) Entrees: Mixed Kibbeh Platter (something quite different and tasty) and Kabseh with lamb (this was delicious, and the lamb was soft and succulent) Dessert: Cream pudding (absolutely delicious!)The fact that we filled up our tummies to the brim plus our reaching at about closing time made us cancel our plan to try out the hookah. But having gotten a taste of the food at Aleppo's Kitchen, we'll definitely be back to treat ourselves to a hookah and another sumptuous meal. More...

First time here, came for lunch- Friendly service and great menu selection & I'm picky about my motherland foods lol...1. Chicken kabob- yummy 2. Jordanian mansaf-- lamb was super tender, rice was a little on the wet side but overall good flavor.. sauce was a little thicker than how my mama makes it but still good...3. Mutabbal- my fave but would have been better if the bread was hot! 4. Kibbeh- yummy. 5. Dawali (stuffed grape leaves) & kousa (stuffed squash) both yummy Overall will definitely return. More...

Hidden gem nestled in the middle of Orange County. Aleppo's kitchen offers the prospective yelper a wide array of cuisine reminiscent of the glorious days of Syria. To my delight I found it to be a very beautiful venue compatible to a high end castle in Aleppo Syria. The garden outdoors is beautiful and the design inside is very luxurious. Clean restrooms and very helpful and kind staff. Would definitely recommend the lamb and rice. GREAT PLACE TO TAKE A SPECIAL SOMEONE. More...

I give this place 4 stars bacause the food was good.  Service although nice, they seemed short staffed and exhausted from running around.  The outer seating is for argeela and because we had kids we sat inside but could still smell the smoke.  I believe people kept walking in and out and the door stayed open, eventually someone closed it. Went there with my family (party of 7, 4 adults 3 kids) We ordered the the mixed kabob for 6, hummus, Muhammarah, yogurt with cucumber and mint, and lemon mint drinks.  Drinks were amazingly good! Perfect combination of mint/lemon/ice.  Food came in a timely manner.  Kids loved the kufta and chicken.  Everything on that platter was tasty and cooked to perfection including the rice.  Definitely would return and recommend Note: Entrance is from behind building, parking is tight back there, we parked in front and walked back. This place serves the best Middle Eastern food in the area. The khash-khash and tawook are second-to-none. The kibbeh is crisp, golden, flavorful and light. If you bring kids, request to sit inside, because smoking is allowed on the patio. With that said, they serve several different flavors of shisha you can enjoy from one of their hookahs. I suggest washing down your delicious meal with some refreshing "ayran," a tangy, salty yogurt drink, or some strong Arabic coffee. More...

Superb on all accounts - service, decor, food. It was the first time I had Syrian food which was delicious. They had cucumber mint yogurt tzatziki sauce and kibbeh, this compact dry meat and flour cake that must have been used first for traveling. It was beautiful though with the pistachios on top. I had lamb with some kind of flavored rice off the normal menu on their family homemade menu, really flavorful and tender and juicy. My parents had skewers which were great. My sister had chicken with Jew's mallow (a leafy green vegetable, in the Philippines it is called saluyot), which was flavorful in a stewy dish. I liked all the flavors together. For dessert, it was ashta, clotted cream with rose water and strawberries. They played a happy birthday song over the speaker system for my mom. The decor was gorgeous, traditional-looking with lanterns and tea sets. We had Turkish or Arabic tea. It was nice indoors and outside. Decent parking in the rear and a good amount of traffic - great spot! More...

We love this place.  Lots of tasty, fresh food.  Big portions.  It may be a little hard to find because their front door is behind the strip mall, just follow the signs.  They built a big patio so they could smoke all the hookahs.   Indoor dining if you want to get away from the hookahs, but I thought they smelled nice, much better than cigarettes.    I usually get one of their big meal fatouch or tabouli salads and a side of soup.  Sometimes other things I can't pronounce, but they taste good.  We went with friends and got a bunch of appetizers.   Foul mudammas is good.    For meals they have shwearma and many veggie meals. Oooo 4.5 stars from me! Excellent food, wonderful service, in a charming environment with lovely music playing in the background. The menu is extensive with traditional Middle Eastern dishes with additional Aleppo style dishes that looked very exciting! I'm not a big kebab person so it was lovely to see a variety of other dishes to try. We had a mixed group for our meal of vegetarians, non vegetarians who only eat chicken, and so it made sharing a bit tricky, so we got an assortment of mezze, but I was really eyeing some of the lamb yogurt dishes. All were delicious! I loved their hummus, labneh, shingleesh, and muhammara. All beautifully balanced flavors doused with an excellent olive oil. The cheese borek was good as well as the Syrian kibbeh! My friend ordered the chicken kebabs. I had a small taste and thought it was delicious considering I don't normally like kebabs. The chicken was marinated perfectly and chargrilled to perfection. Unfortunately the knafeh was stale tasting, but my dining partners ate it anyway even though I passed on it. I'm sure it would be lovely fresh. The manager (didn't catch her name) was really kind, attentive, and fun to chat with! A wonderful experience I will sure be back to try more. More...

Outstanding service and great food at a cozy restaurant with heat warmers outside and fast service. The place is tucked away but there is plenty of parking and you can enjoy a smooth hookah there after your dinner. Now the best thing I found here was the knafa, which is an Arabian sweet that can rarely be found anywhere other than in Palestine. Food is INCREDIBLE!!! and their prices are great. Only downsides are that they are located in kind of a ghetto location but they have their own parking lot, there's not a huge selection of food (it's more like variations on a theme) and their service drops off after they serve you, but the quality and price more than make up for these minor quibbles.

My favorite middle eastern restaurant in the OC.  I found them on doordash about a year ago and this place has really opened up mouth to some wonderful flavors.  I usually start my meal out with some spread, I have tried them all but I think the best are the MUTABBAL, MUHAMMARA, SHINGLEESH.  The singleesh is something I haven't really had outside of this restaurant but i's hands down the best thing ever. The plate that I got was pretty bad but the other 3 plates that was ordered from my table was great. I guess it comes down to selection but the consensus is that the food is good. The service was alright, in the beginning he came alot but never came once to check in after the food arrived. I also had to flag him down for the check. The reason I'm giving a 4 star is because the hookah selection is very low. Nothing impresive hookah. If you like alfakher original flavors then here is okay, if you like other brands they don't have it. More...

What a hidden gem in Anaheim CA :) The food was very fresh and authentic tasting. I had the sampler platter with chicken kabob and rice. Pita bread was warmed when it arrived and every item I tasted was very satisfying. The place is great for hookah as well, but that's not my thing. Would of been 5 stars if they server would of refilled my water more than once. Also, the desserts are made fresh to order. Enjoy! More...

On par with the best Syrian food inside of Syria itself. Everything down to the outdoor seating and decor is reminiscent of Syria's food scene. The kibbeh neye took me back home with the first bite. The Shish tawookh is out of this world, especially with the garlic dip. Even the qatayyif are served warm, fresh and delicious. It's good to know that we have access to this type of authentic Syrian cuisine right here in the states. The only thing that would make my visit better is having this food in the city of Aleppo. Aleppo's Kitchen is your best bet in Syrian cuisine in Anaheim. Aleppo's Kitchen is located in the center of Little Arabia in Anaheim so there is no lack of competition for your dollar if you want Mediterranean fare in the area, but Aleppo's has the competitors beat handily. Modern environs, a vast all-Halal menu along with off menu traditional dishes (bring a friend that speaks fluent Arabic for best results), and being family owned are several of the reasons why - and I haven't even gotten to the food yet. They also offer reasonable pricing for the quality of the ingredients and expertise in preparation. I stopped in for lunch after being allured by Arshad H.'s gushing review and after a brief look at the menu, I decided to try their Chicken Shawerma (their spelling - not mine - hold that protest). Truth be told, it took quite a while for the plate to arrive. All of 15 minutes but it is made scratch to order, which I argue makes it worth your while. Your patience will be rewarded. This I promise you.The meal should start with Aleppo's Green Salad and it is a very agreeable one. Fresh chopped Lettuce, Tomatoes, Cucumber, Parsley, and Mint are tossed together and slathered with a light, yet tangy Vinegar based Dressing. This Salad would be pleasant as an entree on its own and the perfect way to let your Shawerma cool down while you nosh. The Shawerma itself consists of Grilled strips of seasoned Chicken that may be the most robust I have ever tasted. The seasonings employed are deeply complex and exceedingly complicated as I could not figure out all of the different flavors coming at me so quickly no matter how hard I tried. This is now my go-to spot for Shawerma in northern Orange County and probably should be yours too. The plate offers huge portions and includes a delicious cup of Hummus (but you may have to ask for Pita Bread as I did), and a mountain of delicate White Long Grain Rice that is perfect for sopping up that Shawerma pan sauce with. There was not a single bite I did not enjoy. As for detractors, there isn't much to report. Sure, the $15.00 price tag may seem excessive but this is basically home made Shawerma and if you don't have a Syrian grandmother, this is the only way to be close to having one - and again, the portions are tremendous. The service is plenty friendly but could use a bit of polish, cups sat empty and again, I had Hummus with no Pita, but these are minor quibbles. Once you waive the waiter down you will be all set. Aleppo's Kitchen can count on my continued business for years to come and I am excited to get into some of the more traditional and off the menu dishes I have heard such wonderful things about. This one is a gem, get out and see for yourself. More...

Hands down the most authentic Syrian food I've had in America. The appetizers we started with were phenomenal in terms of flavor and presentation; the mhammara, kibbeh nayyeh were perfect and the olive oil drizzle on top was so rich and flavorful. The options on the menu and the variety in the different kinds of kibbeh in particular are very unique to this place - it had been a while since I had seen all the different kibbeh dishes on a restaurant menu. The one we ordered was beautifully embellished with ground pistachios and tasted like something you would only find on the dining table of an Aleppan family's home. Finally, the kabob dishes were grilled to perfection and topped with an authentic pita with roasted pepper spread, sumac onions and parsley leaves - exactly how it's done in Syria. Syrian food is essentially all about perfecting the balance between spices and the actual ingredients. Rarely is food overly spiced or is meat overly marinated as quality has to be tasted and felt. Syrian food is also traditionally tastefully garnished and fragrant and this place plays by all the traditional rules. It was a pleasure dining here and meeting the owners. Aleppo's kitchen is a must try for everyone! More...

It's worth a visit. This mom and pop place boasts the essence of Syrian food - cooked homestyle. The flavors are distinct, dishes are very different from any other Arab region cuisine I've tasted --love the kibbeh and all the lamb dishes.there are dishes which are soaked in a yogurt sauce, okra with ground beef - that's a bit on the tangy side, a type of pureed spinach dish with chicken and the usual fare of grape leaves, babaganoush, hummus, tabouleh -- but all have a disticntly different flavor than anywhere I've tried. The tabouleh was so fresh and tasty and quite distinct.Deserts are unique -- especially the creamy, rose-hinted, honey, strawberry, pistachio plate -- so lovely and so pretty too....Try it -- it's a little oasis in the back of a shop lot -- that's turned into a little peaceful oasis away from the chaos and sadness of their homeland....:( More...

With the variety of restaurant choices in this immediate area, I'm afraid I've waited far too long to try this gem. But that's all in the rear view now. I'm here to tell you that you should not let Yelp clutter your view of this restaurant. Don't worry about your other bookmarks on Brookhurst ...they can and should wait. Coming here for the first time took a little bit of careful navigation. The entrance to Aleppo's kitchen is in the back of a strip mall which the most prominent sign/feature is a yellow street-side sign that reads Pho. There's also a large sign on the building that says "Massage."Despite some of the scuzzy surroundings, this is a beautiful restaurant with a surprisingly large parking lot. It has a cute patio that you walk through to enter the tastefully decorated restaurant- lovely mural on the wall and nicely appointed tables.  Came with my folks and my daughter so we opted to go the safe route and order the food family style so we went for the appetizer sampler with hummus, baba ganoush, tabbouleh, stuffed grape leaves, the best falafel ever and pita. We also ordered the grill sampler with kafta, lamb, chicken, grilled tomatoes and rice. Man the rice was amazing with toasted almonds on top. Everything was super fresh, seasoned perfectly and delicious. The chicken was especially aromatic and tender. No doubt about whether we'll be back...the question is when?! More...

Great service! If you have never been here and need some recommendation, I suggest the two dishes that can split among 4 people: 1. Appetizer -  Hummus, ground beef and nuts - The pita bread served with the hummus was chewy and had a good texture to it. 2. Mixed Kebab Platter with a side of White Rice and Grilled Tomatoes - There's plenty of meat and the rice was nice a flaky. If you like lamb, try the kabseh with lamb. It's a rice dish with chunks of lamb meat on top. The rice is deliciously seasoned. More...

Nice little spot, pure Syrian food. We sat outdoors and the weather was really nice, I've been here before a few years ago and was in the mood for some authentic Syrian food and always had this place in mind. We had the Lamb Kabsa and Kibbeh Labaniya, the Lamb Kabsa was DELICIOUS but the Kibbeh Labania was whatever nothing special. Arrived here at 9:57 pm on a Saturday, and the front staff informed us that we had just missed the buffet and it was over.  She was turning people away.  Instead of just leaving we walked in to just see, where we were greeted by a man, maybe the manager or owner.  We explained to him that we drove a long way to try Syrian food on Ramadan (and that I am actually visiting from Atlanta), and wanted to see if there was any way we could order some food.  When he heard our story, he was really excited to share his culture, his food, and his hospitality and told us "let me see what I can do."  He quickly sat us down and provided us with two dishes: kebneh and shish barack with rice pilaf with almond silvers.  Everything was absolutely delicious, we definitely loved the food, the experience and the culture surrounding us.  I absolutely loved the way he handled our situation, from being disappointed to not having a chance to try the food to being seated and enjoying the amazing food as the other guests beside us were breaking fast.  It is truly an amazing feeling to experience such hospitality and attentiveness. Decided to try something new tonight so I yelped "Mediterranean cuisine nearby". The pictures looked good so we went. Tucked away in the back of a strip mall with its own entrance and parking lot, we walked into a cozy patio area and were greeted by the hostess. We decided to sit inside due to the hookah smoke on the patio. We ordered the shish tawook with roasted tomato, rice, grilled onion, and garlic toum sauce. Chicken was moist and abundant... the Toum sauce was one of the best I've had. I wish they would have given me a side of hummus though. That would have completed the dish. My boyfriend ordered the chicken/beef shawarma plate which came with side salad, hummus, rice, garlic toum and pita bread.  Both dishes were good and plate size was large. His meat was a bit dry but seasoned well. My chicken was cooked perfectly but could have used a bit more seasoning. Easily one of the best Middle Eastern resterants out there! We were greeted by a very friendly and welcoming staff. Although interior was tastefully decorated, we chose to sit on large patio as it was a warm evening. For starters, we ordered the plate of olives and pickled turnips and the fetoush salad. The salad dressing tasted like a very flavorful balsamic vinaigrette; salad was sprinkled with sumac for a refreshing tartness, and the pieces of pita chips gave it a nice crunch. The entrées we ordered were the vegetarian plate and the kebab plate. Veggie plate featured mutabal (roasted mashed eggplant mixed with tahini, garlic and lemon); hummus, stuffed grape leaves, falafel and tabouli. Each item was delicious and as authentic as Arabic food gets. I'd never had donut-shaped falafel, or ones that are coated with sesame seeds. They were crunchy on the outside and satisfying to the taste buds. The tabouli was authentic and fresh, with the flavors of mint and parsley coming through the dressing that wasn't too heavy on the lemon. The rice-stuffed grape leaves were perhaps the most unique item, with pomegranate juice adding a slightly sweet and savory flavor. The kabob plate featured kiftah, the cigar-shaped, seasoned ground beef kabobs. Not sure what all the spices were, but these were very nicely seasoned and tasty. The beef and chicken kabobs also were seasoned very well and delicious. The plate included a large helping of white rice topped with toasted sliced almonds, grilled tomatoes and onions. We also tried the freekah (roasted whole green wheat kernels) with lamb shoulder - this is a special the restaurant features on Saturday nights. This dish was absolutely wonderful! Coming from a Palestinian family where I ate this dish a lot, Aleppo's version was homemade, authentic and delicious. My regret is that we didn't try the kibbeh, which is cracked wheat filled with meat, but there's always next time. This dish is apparently a specialty in Aleppo, and the owner, a recent immigrant from Syria, described all the varieties they offer, from fried cigar-shaped fritters to a baked dish and even one where the fritters are grilled. You can see and taste the pride and care taken in the preparation of the food by the family owners/chef; definitely recommend it. More...

I came here a while ago with my boyfriend and mom, and I guess I never realized how different Syrian cuisine was in relation to other Middle Eastern/Arabic cuisines. The food was focused much on the aromatics versus the spice levels, making the food delicious tasting, but a little bland for my taste in terms of heat (I like my food spicy!). We got a number of dishes to split, and boy were they huge portions! We got the: Kasbeh Rice with Lamb - this dish was served with a heaping mound of rice, fit for a family of four, and about 6 pieces of lamb. The downside to choosing lamb for this is the gameyness of it, and there wasn't too many spices to mask that flavor. The lamb was unevenly cooked, so the lamb was very chewy! The rice was deliciously flavored, and was probably my favorite part of the dishShish Tawok (Chicken Kabob with Garlic Sauce) - this was a favorite amongst the group! The chicken was tender and wonderfully cooked, and there was a perfect amount of spice to mask the chicken flavor. The garlic sauce was something different and complimented the succulent chicken really well.Nammoura (Semolina Cake with honey) - we were more than stuffed, but our server insisted we try this dessert. It was deliicous, but quite sweet! The pistachios crusted on top added a nice crunch element to the dishOverall, great ambiance, food, and service! You can pretty much find any kind of cuisines in the Southern California and Syrian cuisine is no exception. Aleppo's Kitchen is located just about 4~5 miles away from the Disneyland and the restaurant is hidden behind behind a strip mall (it can be fairly easy to miss, but you will see the entrance sign for the restaurant).Since it was my 1st time trying out Syrian food, the menu was slightly overwhelming with many items that I have never heard of (e.g. mutabbal, muhammara, kibbeh, borak, soujouk, foul mudammas, khash-khash, etc). Each item on the menu has detailed descriptions, so it took me a good 5-minute just to read through the entire menu. A special side note - lamb kabseh is an off-menu item. Overall service was pretty good.***Fried Syrian Kibbeh (fried kibbeh shell stuffed with spiced ground meat, onion, and nuts - $8): It had a similar texture as croquette, but not exactly the same. Fried appetizer stuffed with grounded beef and almond. It was okay - tasted a bit dry for me.Shish Tawook (chicken marinated in an exotic blend and chargrilled over mesquite; served with a side of rice - $15): Incredible seasoning with slightly spicy kick - chicken was grilled in a way that infused both texture and flavors perfectly. Pita bread was absolutely amazing - warm bread with chewy texture and a good yogurt dipping sauce.Lamb Kabseh (not listed on the English menu - $16): I don't really know what to tell you here other than lamb was so freaking tender, fatty, and mouthwatering. Flavorful rice with refreshing cucumber dipping sauce.Cream Pudding (cream pudding with honey, fresh strawberries, & pistachios - $6): Cream pudding had a pretty interesting texture and it wasn't an overwhelmingly sweet dessert.***Talk about one-of-a-kind cuisine and it was a fascinating food experience. If you want to try a slightly unique Mediterranean food, then I would highly recommend Aleppo's Kitchen. More...

Delicious. Secretly snuck in here on Christmas Day on the way to a family dinner... So i had a delicious Syrian meal BEFORE my main meal. Ha! So good.  I enjoyed the entire experience. Nice people. Fantastic! Probably my favorite restaurant in Anaheim. One of the few Arabic restaurants that serves dishes other than kabobs. We had the kibbeh sampler plate and they were all delicious. The chicken kabobs were super tender. The Kabsah was one of the best I've had and the lamb was very tender. More...

I came here  in the summer of 2016 since I was in the OC for work related meetings. A coworker brought me her and she raved that this is the best Syrian restaurant in town and she was not kidding at all.The wait staff was very courteous and attentive. They were very helpful in providing suggestions given that one of my colleagues had dietary restrictions. We didn't have any meat but I wasn't disappointed. I kid you not, this was a very delicious vegetarian meal that I had. Their falafel are amazing! Crispy in the outside and still moist in the inside. If you're in the area, I definitely suggest coming here. I plan on coming back and taking some of my friends here! More...

Great place to take family. Food is good! Omar is very friendly and rest are trying their best to keep up with the fast pace environment. However, whoever is the "owner" NEEDS TO HIRE MORE EMPLOYEES!!! Also make the outside area warmer for the customers so it is more enjoyable.  Please take this into consideration for future customers. It will be very appreciated.  Shukran More...

This is an excellent restaurant. It is nicely decorated and makes you feel like you are in the middle east. The restaurant is in the back behind Pho Place. You can drive behind and there is plenty of parking. The service was excellent and our waiter asked us twice how we liked certain dishes. He gave us recommendations and told us which items are the most popular. My son ordered a charbroiled chicken dish and I had one of the minced meat kabob dishes, I can't remember the name. The dishes were large with a lot of meat. They brought us two small plates so we could share which was nice.  The food was excellent and contained some unique tastes which I have never had before. The basmati rice was very tasty and they put pine nuts (maybe they were a unique variety of almonds) on top. Nice décor, great service, excellent food, what more can you ask for. More...

Best place so far around here, the plates come exactly like the pictures, very clean food, I tried the chicken, beef, kofta, I am not fan of the syrian kofta, the seasoning in the chicken is minimum and the beef was grilled perfect, I would totally recommend

I brought my mother for her 77th birthday. When we first got there it looked sketchy until we saw a sign that it was in the back. Once at the actual restaurant you are taken to the charm of Aleppo's dining experience. The service is what you would expect from a restaurant that is family owned and takes pride in what they do: congenial and warm. We ordered the kibbeh, Shish Tawook and beef kabobs. The food was beyond delicious. The spices were on point and the Marcona almonds were a delightful treat on the rice. My Mexican mother fully enjoyed her food and said that the service and delicious food made it a place we would have to return to. Do yourself a favor and come to Aleppo's. More...

Everything is perfect. And here to brake it down:1) customer service is unbelievably amazing. The staff is very nice and very friendly. 2) Food.... the food is in a stage where you can not explain, fantastic! The meat is very tender and perfectly cooked. The Kebeh (the platter) is very well made, very flavorful. 3) the ambiance is great! Not too loud, not too quite. 4) the dessert is exceptional! Try the Cream Pudding. There really isn't anything else in Southern California that can compare to this place. I have never had Syrian food presented to me in such an incredibly authentic Manor, with home-cooked food and quality service. Even as a plane Mediterranean restaurant, this has got to be one of the 10 best places I have ever eaten at. No surprise about the location - - this short stretch of Brookhurst Street in Anaheim is known for its Arabic community with vibrant hookah lounges, authentic Grocers, and tasty restaurants. This place is rather difficult to find - it is tucked away behind a Hispanic night club on an unassuming strip mall on the corner of Brookhurst and Orange Street - - however it is well worth the journey it takes to find aleppo's.  You know you were on the right track when every single person in the restaurant is of the ethnicity that they represent. Real Arabs know this is where you go to get a taste of the homeland. Whether you opt for the hummus, fatteh, or something in between, the appetizers are incredibly  cool, and creamy. You can tell this stuff was made in the kitchen and didn't just come out of a jar. It was Heaven At First Bite. There is a reasonably diverse selection of entrees - - and they even cater to vegetarians if you have them in your party. I decided to try the khash khash because I have never had anything like that before. The tomato, onion and peppers sauce all complemented the ground meat in a way that words cannot describe. I can honestly say that the Falafel was unlike any that I have ever had before - - and I was simply floored. They are not excessively crusty or difficult to eat, as some Falafel can be at times. They are loaded with flavor and have a rich nutty aftertaste. For the amount of food that you get, the prices are actually quite reasonable. You will find that some appetizers and two entrees are easily enough food for 4 people. I can guarantee you that they haven't seen the Last of Me here. More...

Hands down the best dining experience I've had in a looong time.  This place is weirdly situated behind a strip mall but really lovely when you find it, the true definition of "hidden gem". The restaurant was packed when we arrived, but they managed to seat us right away.  From the first second the service and the food were impeccable.  We were the only non middle easterners that I could see from the tables around us, so it must be good, right? Yes!  We had chicken chicken and beef shawarma and an appetizer platter.  There was a hint of a raised eyebrow when we ordered and when the food arrived we could see why.  The servings were HUGE.  Easily enough for 4 people (we were 2). Every morsel was perfectly seasoned and delicious.  The service was attentive and kind.  A beautiful place, with fantastic food, and lovely people.  I only wish I lived nearby so that I could visit again and again. Aleppo's Kitchen specializes in Syrian cuisine and is located in the little Arabia district of Anaheim on Brookhurst street.  The entrance to the restaurant is actually located in the back of a strip mall.  Follow the signs on the side of the AAMCO mechanic shop that will lead to a large parking lot.  The restaurant has a decent amount of patio seating as well as indoor seating.  I had heard that Aleppo's has an English menu as well as an Arabic menu with items not listed on the English menu.  I made sure I brought a co-worker who was fluent in the Arabic language with me to the restaurant to order the specialty items.  My group ordered the following items:Shish Borek ($16) - This item was not on the English menu.  It consisted of small dumplings filled with seasoned ground beef.  The dumplings were the size of tortellini and just as tender and were served in an extremely thick yogurt sauce.   This dish reminded me of a popular Afghani dish called mantu. I was surprised to see that this dish came with a white basmati type rice as one would not expect a noodle dish to come with rice.  This dish was a hit at our table.Shingleesh ($8) - This salad was a refreshing surprise and had a very unique taste.  It consisted of a blend of goat cheese, pepper, herbs and spices, served with chopped onions and tomatoes, drizzled with olive oil.  I liked the mouthfeel of this dish with the silky smooth cheese and the contrasting salad.Shakryeh ($16) -  This item was another dish not on the English menu.  This dish consisted of extremely tender roasted lamb served in a thick yogurt sauce.  I enjoyed the delightful taste combination of the yogurt and lamb.   Like the shish borek it was served with rice.Mixed Kibbeh Platter ($20) - I really enjoy eating kibbeh and was surprised to see so many different variations. The kibbeh dough is made from bulgur (cracked wheat).  Kibbeh Swar (baked cupcake like kibbeh packed with ground meat, onions, nuts),  Mishwiyeh (kibbeh dumplings stuffed with meat, onions, and nuts, and chargrilled over mesquite), and Fried (hollow kibbeh shells stuffed with ground meat, onions, and nuts, and fried in vegetable oil).     My favorite was the fried kibbeh which had a crunchy shell and nicely seasoned ground beef.  I've had better kibbeh at some other establishments but this was still very good.Lamb Kabseh ($16) - This was my favorite item of all the dishes that I tried.  The rice was extremely fragrant and tasted incredible.  I especially liked the roasted almonds that were served atop the super tender fall off the bone lamb.  The lamb didn't have any funky smell to it and easily fell apart.  This dish also came with an extremely fresh cucumber yogurt dip, as did the mixed kibbeh platter. All the entrees came with pita bread (store bought and not freshly made) and all the food served here is halal.  While the pricing may seem to be on the higher side, the quality of food was incredible and I thoroughly enjoyed eating all these unique offerings.  I'd definitely love to come back and try some more of the wonderful dishes that are prepared at Aleppo's Kitchen! This is now one of my favorite restaurants for Mediterranean cuisine outside the Mediterranean! Every dish we had was delicious, fresh, and flavorful. The meats were tender, the rice fragrant, and I couldn't enough of the mutabbal (ground chargrilled eggplant with garlic and yogurt) and tabouli salad. If I could give them 10 stars, I would. Words can't accurately describe how perfect the food is here. The only thing that made it better was the wonderful host Samia. You HAVE to ask for the secret menu (it's all in Arabic), and request the stuffed grape leaves and kousa. These taste just like the ones from Lebanon, 100%. Their rice is cooked to perfection as is their kibbeh labaniyeh. I'm still in awe of how delectable this feast was. More...

We were in Anaheim for a business meeting, and looking for somewhere to have lunch.  A quick Yelp search brought us to Aleppo's Kitchen (actually, we sat outside, so Aleppo's Garden might be a better description.  As another reviewer mentioned, don't let the seedy strip mall fool you.  This lovely Restaurant is behind the mall-follow the signs around to the back.  The food is delicious, and the service could not have been better.  We love Middle Eastern food, and normally patronize Lebanese restaurants, so it was fun to taste the "Aleppo" version of the same foods.  We started with the Mixed Appetizer Platter.  The Hummus, Tabouli and Baba Ganoush were delicious, but it was the Falafel and grape leaves that made us swoon.  Next was the Foul Mudammas, again prepared differently than what we normally have.  Vegetarians will have a blast here, as there are so many yummy options.  For our entree we ordered the Shish Tawook, we took about 2 bites, when our beautiful server Samia (I hope I'm spelling her name correctly) brought my husband a sample of their house specialty, lamb over rice.  i don't eat red meat, but my husband was practically groaning with ecstasy.  He said it was the best lamb he ever ate. Needless to say, we couldn't begin to finish all the food in front of us. The portions are large, so be prepared to bring leftovers home with you.  And if all that wasn't enough, Samia sent out a complimentary dessert.  The experience was like going to visit family (without having to clean up!).5 Star Food, 5 Star Service More...

Don't let the seedy shopping plaza fool you -- just follow the gate sign for Aleppo's Kitchen and park in the back, and you'll find a cool oasis away from the Anaheim "Gaza Strip" drab that will transport you away to a lovely terrace that can very well be in Jebel Amman, or perhaps in an Aleppo of long ago. The service is wonderful, the food is delicious authentic, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the Shisha/hookah/arguileh is on point. Some recommendations: hummus with meat, kibbeh labaniyya (ground lamb fritters in a yogurt sauce), and any of the fried Kibbe options. Syrian food is among the best regarded in the Arab world, and the Aleppo cuisine of Northern Syria is unique. More...
