Prospective tutors - give Alchemy Tuition a miss. They request personal details instead of a CV or evidence of your secondary and tertiary results , then promptly reject without explanation. Due to the nature of the application (eg answer questions such as “who are three people you would have dinner with and why?”) and reference check (they don’t even have a discussion with your referees…they send them an email asking them NOT to reply if they consider you a good tutor), Alchemy’s assessment of your application appears based on your personal preferences rather than your academic abilities, professional experience and core skills (eg interpersonal, communication skills, problem solving etc). I would definitely recommend Alchemy Tuition to anyone interested in tutoring. The Alchemy team are extremely supportive of new tutors and have heaps of online resources to help you find your feet. It's a great opportunity to develop a range of skills. The company is very supportive of its tutors, providing teaching resources and job opportunities which you can tailor to your own conveniences.
