Beautiful and natural photos that tell your story, without being intrusive or contrived.
I'm a professional photographer based in Datchet, a beautiful village on the Thames to the west of London and near to Windsor, but my work takes me across the UK and overseas.
I specialise in weddings and portraiture, and working with musicians and performers. I also provide product and event photography for business clients.
My work has featured on the BBC website; in newspapers in the UK and overseas; in the magazines Classical Music, Sunday Times Style, Harper's Bazaar, and the style bible Wallpaper Magazine; been used by the Royal College of Music; and illustrated books published by Thames and Hudson. I've also exhibited at London Olympia as a finalist in the Daily Telegraph Travel Photography Competition in association with the Royal Photographic Society.
My photographic journey began in the 1980's as a young boy messing around with my Dad's 35mm film camera and hand-held lightmeter, long before the days of autofocus and digital SLRs, although now I shoot almost entirely in digital.
Although largely self-taught, I've refined my knowledge and skills studying at Central St Martins College of Art and Design (now part of the University of the Arts London), and Ealing School of Art, Design and Media.
I'm a member of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers, and the Society of International Commercial and Industrial Photographers. I hold Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance.
Alastair is very friendly and easy-going photographer who knows how to take absolutely stunning photos which you'll proudly print out and hang them on the wall. Plus you can trust me that people will praise them a lot! More...
Alastair cares deeply and brings and leaves his ego at the door, which is not easy when one creative is working with another creative, as is the case in photographer v art director relationship. Our products come alive with Al's photography and I think he is in a league with the most experienced, best that fashion/lifestyle photography has to offer. when people see our site, the first thing they comment on is the quality and beauty of his stunning images. can't recommend him highly enough. I have used Alastair several times, both for family events (a 50th wedding anniversary, a wedding and a Christening!) and for my two orchestras, Amadeus Orchestra and Mozart Symphony Orchestra. These two situations both require very different techniques of photography and people management and Alastair is always sensitive to our requirements and always produces amazing results. I cannot recommend him highly enough. More...
