Q&As

Seeing clients and organisations we have supported growing and meeting their desired end goals.
We provide outstanding service in the pursuit of ensuring the organisations are efficient, effective and responsive. If we have helped our clients to save costs, gain better customer feedback, and meet their needs then we are very happy!

Following a successful career in University lecturing we were tired of talking about quality management and business, and wanted to actually put our skills into practice.
We noticed a hugely inaccessible market for supporting quality and process management growth, and knew that we could help companies and individuals grow their business with cost effective Business Process Mapping and Quality support.

We do not believe in a one stop shop. We strongly believe in a long term relationship, where following initial consultancy we will review the impacts in the future and support the company beyond the initial work.
We provide plain English solutions to issues and problems which are anything but plain and simple, and all of our work is informed and based upon proven modern techniques, and implemented by our hugely qualified and experienced team.
We also pride ourselves on being friendly, approachable and proud of our work.

Services

In most small to medium sized organisations there are usually 7-12 processes that occur naturally, most of the time you don’t even recognise them.
These processes dictate the success and failures of your business, it is the ability of your business to get things done.

Business Process Mapping (BPM) is an exercise where these processes are identified, dissected, analysed and, if needed, redesigned to ensure that the organisation is running as effectively, efficiently and profitably possible.

Alacrity believes organisations are always capable of improvement, but also recognises that most search for improvement comes following times of crisis, disaster or through financial requirement.

Business Process Mapping exercises can be massively beneficial for organisations. The lean principles of BPM help to achieve significant financial savings through minimisation of wastage, through increasing productivity and insuring that all elements contribute maximum value to the overall process.

As a means of ensuring long-term performance gains, BPM creates clarity, responsibility and oversight of key business processes for all individuals involved in their delivery.

All organisations engage in activities which can be assessed in regards to their quality. The ease of doing so is dependent upon the complexity of the processes, service and/or manufacturing processes involved.
Although the concepts of quality can be widely applied, Alacrity believe that all organisations are unique and as such their processes and ways of operating are inherently different from other organisations.

Business Quality Auditing involves using a variety of tools to breakdown and assess quality. Alacrity believe that expedience, standardisation of practice and client experiences are all significant in assessing quality.

Alacrity begins every Quality Auditing activity by identifying the key activities that require assessment with the client. It is uncommon to be able to assess the entire business offering given the complexity and size of organisations, more that it is vital to identify the most pertinent issues and the processes which surround this.

We believe it is vital to lock in an organisations ability to measure the quality of processes internally. We work with the organisation to provide KPIs which are meaningful for the organisation, and also identify what constitutes excellent returns in this regard.

Business Quality Management training provides key individuals in organisations with an insight and different perspective into the nature of what quality actually means to them and their place of work.

Through Alacrity's Quality Management Training, sessions are tailored to individual organisational culture and needs, following which individuals are invited to explore the nature of core quality topics such as accuracy, speed, experience and processing.

Alacrity Quality Management training is interactive, collaborative and fun in nature, with participants undertaking activities which help to reveal our current understanding, as well as exercises which help to demonstrate how quality output is further achieved and developed.

Organisations who engage with this form of training can expect to see a far greater insight from staff into what is meant by quality, and also greater reflection and understanding of their workplaces processes. It is anticipated that this level of understanding will help to engender a culture of quality, from which improved performance and expedience is achieved - creating higher profitability, staff satisfaction and lower wastage.

Leadership within small-to-medium sized businesses is usually represented in the form of Managing Directors, or by a select few managers. These leaders, and central points of the business, are often key to the success of the organisation.

‘360 appraisal’ is an appraisal tool for management and high level staff to receive comprehensive feedback from a wide variety of stakeholders who have contact with the subject, including various staff groups, customers, suppliers and associated business partners.

‘Alacrity 360’ facilitates and conducts interviews, questionnaires and observations within the business and with identified key stakeholders to provide comprehensive feedback regarding performance of individuals.

Alacrity takes care of the exercise from start to finish, so leaders and managers need not be inconvenienced by what could otherwise be a time consuming and inaccurate result.

Alacrity fully believes that 360 appraisal should be a supportive and developmental exercise, conducted sensitively, with discretion assured, to ensure that results are accurate and honest.

Defining success and measures of performance is fundamental is assessing organisational and individual output. Often it is difficult to identify appropriate measures of performance, and some individuals in organisations have no output indicators at all. We work with organisations to develop KPIs, creating systems to measure organisational and individual performance, providing greater control and insight into business practices.

Measuring performance should always be more than examining profits, and profit margins. Key Performance Indicators include measures of process time, productivity, output, accuracy, speed and satisfaction. When working with clients we identify what KPIs are appropriate, relevant and reasonable for their organisation, and we also collaborate to identify what levels of performance would be considered as acceptable.

KPI development also involves revisiting organisations 6 months following the initial activity to ensure the measures are being effectively utilised, and to identify how performance can further be improved.

We believe strongly that individuals should feel empowered and positive about the work they do. We understand that work is hard, and that sometimes it is difficult to make sense of what is happening around us and to adapt.

Alacrity offers tailored coaching services for such individuals to talk about what is happening in our professional environments and to try to identify strategies that help professionals reach their potential and to enjoy their work.
During a free initial consultation, the key focus of the coaching is identified and a strategy is agreed to determine the nature of the sessions.

Typically, these 1hr sessions are ongoing, usually fortnightly, and are based in a comfortable environment for the client.
