I wish there were more stars to give Denise - I would most certainly do so, if I could. When my partner and I were looking for a trainer for our dogs, we weren't blind to what our babies needed to succeed, but we didn't know how to go about it. Denise was the first trainer to write me back, and upon going onto her website and thumbtack account, I read all of the wonderful things that others had said about her - they're all true by the way. Denise sat down and listened to all of our concerns. We have a 1.5 year old rednose pitbull and a 2.5 year old akita/shepherd mix. Both our girls were rescues, and after a really ugly fight among each other, and our vet telling us that they'd NEVER be able to be around each other alone again, we knew we had to do something for them and for ourselves. Even just the consultation, we were able to see what the problem areas were and started a game plan. Five weeks later, and my dogs are almost unrecognizable, compared to before Denise came into our lives. Denise is kind, loving, and knowledgeable. I was so scared I was going to end up with a drill sergeant for a trainer, and that my dogs weren't going to respond to anything anyone said. BOY WAS I WRONG! Both of our dogs took to her and her direction so well - even our 8 year old mini schnauzer mini poodle started to take direction from her, and she wasn't even a focus. They listen better, they play better with one another, and most of all they're trusting us, as their owner's to show them the way, in everything that they do. We will be giving it a few months of trying to do some of our own follow through, and then more than likely touching base with Denise again for some more advanced training. I can't thank you enough, Denise. Thank you for showing us that we can love our dogs, while still providing structure. You have been nothing short of a miracle worker. We really hope that more dog owners will take the responsibility of getting the appropriate training that their fur-children need - if they can't do it themselves - and I wouldn't put my faith in anyone that isn't Denise. Wow-I can't speak highly enough about Denise! She has such a calm demeanor and positive energy that my dogs just love her. She is great at teaching this old dog (oops mom) new tricks. I am not the most coordinated in learning to perform all the needed steps right off the bat but Denise is very patient and an excellent teacher. After the initial consult, I was brimming from ear to ear to see my Golden pup learn so quickly. She will teach you how to be the pack leader. She also helped me to pick out needed equipment and fit my pup with dog boots as well as all of the basic commands including leash walking. Denise is amazing. Â She achieved quick results with my rescue dog Corky (and me). She trains both you and the pet... you to be the "pack leader" and your pet to follow basic instructions. Too many people treat their dogs like people instead of like the pack animals that they truly are. Â Unless you become the pack leader, your dog will attempt to assume that role which can actually be stressful for the pet. They say a dog is a man/girl's best friend and on most days I know this to be true. But, when my BF (new Golden Retriever puppy) and I were learning to get to know each other I was lucky enough to connect with Denise. We found Denise on different occasions training other dogs and decided to let her work with our too babies. We really needed help with a rescued American Bulldog that we named Georgia. She is the sweetest dog, the best with other dogs, but extremely fearful with people. We also have a hyperactive Min Pin that knew no commands, and constantly pulled on walks. Through working with both our dogs, Denise showed instantly that results were possible. We got advice on changing from a harness to a collar for Akasha (Min Pin), and noticed instant changes in her walks. Georgia, who needed the most work, has come far with her people fear. Although not completely gone yet, she has shown alot of advancement working with Denise, and she's also less jumpy when people approach her or walk by. Denise is absolutely wonderful!! We purchased a 10 week old German Shepherd and named her Nalla. I called Denise to help us with the basics sit, stay, down, etc. We are VERY happy with Denise's knowledge, friendliness and patience with Nalla and us!! Nalla is excelling in her training and going beyond the basic commands. We got a smart one!!! Nalla is a terrific addition to our family and look forward to having her as a family pet and guard dog.
